He was born Febuary 8, 1961 in Hollywood, California. He was born Vince Neil Wharton but later dropped his last name to become known only as Vince Neil.

2. What band did Vince play in prior to joining Mötley Crüe?

Answer: Rockandi

He was in this band for quite some time while in high school. At their first concert they performed "I Want You to Want Me" by Cheap Trick, "Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith and "Smokin' in the Boy's Room" by Brownsville Station. He would later leave the band for Mötley Crüe after the guitar player cut his hair and said he was going to become a new wave band.

Izzy Stradlin hit his wife at The Cathouse while Vince was white water rafting just prior to the release of "Dr. Feelgood". When Vince returned he was enraged. So after the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards where GNR was performing with Tom Petty, Vince was waiting backstage.

As Izzy was coming off stage Vince decked him. Axl Rose came back stage, and acting tough, challenged Vince to a fight. Unfortunately for him, Vince accepted and Axl bakced down. After that, Axl launched a huge press attack against Vince. Several times Axl sent messages to Vince challenging him and leaving a time and a place. Vince waited for Axl but he never showed so Vince went on MTV and challenged Axl to three rounds at the Forum on a Monday night. Axl never responded and the offer stands to this day.
