Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This album has some great unknown Kink songs such as 'Nothin' in the World can Stop Me Worryin' 'Bout that Girl,' and 'Come on Now.' What Album is it?

Answer: Kinda Kinks

Also on the album, the classic hit single 'Tired of Waiting for You,' which, at the time, was the quickest single ever to knock off the Beatles from the top of the Charts. Those Kinky Kinks knocked off the fab four just after a mere two weeks.
2. What Kink album included the songs 'Harry Rag,' 'Tin Soldier Man,' and 'Situation Vacant'?

Answer: Something Else

This album gave the world one of the most beautiful ballads of all time, 'Waterloo Sunset.'
3. What album had these classics? 'Do you Remember Walter,' and 'The Big Sky.'

Answer: The Village Green Preservation Society

This was Ray Davies masterpiece, or at least that's what he wanted it to be. The album sold poorly in the US and broke Ray's heart.
4. With songs like 'Victoria' and "Shangri-la,' how this album didn't receive an enormous uproar is beyond me.

Answer: Arthur

For the first time, we see a new Kink on this album, John Dalton replaced Peter Quaife as the bass player.
5. Although the Album doesn't rate as one of their best, the song 'Sunny Afternoon' sold worldwide and was THE song of the summer.

Answer: Face to Face

'Face to Face' was released in the Summer of 1966 and took the Kinks into a new direction, from songs such as 'You Really Got Me' and 'All Day and All of the Night,' to a more mature Ray Davies songwriter.
6. 'The Way Love Used to be,' 'Pictures in the Sand,' 'Where Did My Spring Go?' What great album included these songs?

Answer: The Great Lost Kinks Album

'The Great Lost Kinks Album' is truly a great lost Kinks album, very hard to find and expensive when you do find it, but an absolutely amazing album. At first, it was supposed to be a Dave Davies solo album, but the project never got underway, and was later released a few years later as a Kinks Album.
7. Let's switch things up a bit now, I'll name an album, and you select which song doesn't belong. Here's the album, 'Lola Vs. Powerman and the Money-go-round'.

Answer: I Go to Sleep

'I Go to Sleep' is actually an old Kinks song, recorded in 1965. Ray wrote the song thinking of his wife Rasa, who can be heard singing on several Kinks tracks, the most notable probably being the beautiful backing vocals of 'Death of A Clown.'
8. Same thing, pick out the song that isn't on the album called Kinks.

Answer: Till the End of the Day

'Till the End of the Day' is on the third album, 'Kink Kontoversy'. The others are on the debut Kinks album, simply entitled Kinks, which of course practically started riots with the songs 'You Really Got Me,' and 'All Day and All of the Night.'
9. Which two songs were on the album 'Kink Kontroversy'?

Answer: I'm on an Island/ Where Have All the Good Times Gone

Great album with a great cover. Enough said.
10. Here's a curve-ball for the last question. In Ray's autobiography, 'X-Ray,' he mentions several times that the "Girl," in the song 'You Really Got Me,' might actually be directed to one person. Who is that girl?

Answer: Julie Finkle

Julie Finkle was a romantic childhood friend of Ray Davies. I guess she stuck in his mind.
