The Moody Blues sang "Go Now". It was their first UK chart hit and their only UK number one. It reached number ten on the US chart.

Georgie Fame and The Blue Flames had a UK number one with "Yeh Yeh" in 1965. It reached number 21 on the US chart. His only three singles to enter the UK top ten all went to number one. Unit Four Plus Two had their only UK number one with "Concrete and Clay in 1965, it reached number 28 on the US chart. The Fortunes just missed the UK number one spot with "You've Got Your Troubles" (one of my favourite records of 1965) it stalled at number two. It reached number seven on the US chart.

Roger Miller sang "King Of The Road". It was his only UK top ten hit and number one. It reached number four in the US.

Del Shannon had a number two hit with the Roger Miller penned "The Swiss Maid" in 1962, it only reached number 64 in the US. He had a UK number three hit in 1965 with "Keep Searchin' (We'll Follow The Sun)", a US number nine hit. Jim Reeves had a UK number eight in 1965 with "It Hurt's So Much", it never charted in the US. Jimmy Dean had a UK number two in 1961 with "Big Bad John", a US number one.
3. Who wanted this person to play music for them, with these lyrics? "I'm not sleepy And there ain't no place I'm going to"

Answer: The Byrds

The Byrds sang "Mr Tambourine Man". Written by Bob Dylan, it was number one on the UK and US charts in 1965.

Bob Dylan recorded the song on his 1965 album "Bringing It All Back Home". Yes, William Shatner recorded it in 1968. (come on own up which one of you bought it) I am a Star Trek fan but this version is on my worst 20 records of all time list. The Birds, a British group had a minor UK hit in 1965 with "Leaving Here" at number 45.

Answer: The Kinks

The Kinks sang "Tired Of Waiting For You". It was their second UK number one and reached number six on the US chart in 1965.

The Four Tops only reached number 23 on the UK chart in 1965 with "I Can't Help Myself". It was re-released in 1970 and reached number ten. It was their first number one on the US chart in 1965. Gary Lewis and The Playboys had a US number one in 1965 with "This Diamond Ring". They had no UK chart hits in the 60's but reached number 36 in 1975 with "My Hearts Symphony". The Spencer Davis Group had a UK number one hit in 1965 with "Keep On Running". It only reached number 76 on the US chart in 1966. The lead singer Steve Winwood had a solo career in the 80's. He was more successful, with two number one hits in the US than in the UK.

Answer: Elvis Presley

Elvis was "Crying In The Chapel". This was Elvis Presley's last UK number one of the 60's. It reached number three on the US chart.

Andy Williams made it to number two on the UK chart in 1965 with "Almost There". It only reached number 67 on the US chart. Cliff Richard had a UK number one in 1965 with "The Minute You're Gone". It never charted in the US. Billy Fury had a UK number nine in 1965 with "In Thoughts Of You". He never had a US chart hit.
6. Who was not very content with life and not getting much out of it with these words? "Hey hey hey That's what I say

Answer: The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones sang "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" It reached the number one spot in the UK and US in 1965. It was the fourth of five consecutive UK number one's for The Stones.

The Pretty Things had a UK number 13 hit in 1965 with "Honey I Need". (they are one of my favourite groups that never made it big in the 60's) Wilson Pickett had his biggest UK chart hit with "In The Midnight Hour" at number 12 in 1965. It reached number 21 on the US chart. James Brown reached number 25 on the UK chart with "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag" in 1965. It reached number eight on the US chart.

Answer: The Beatles

The song was "Ticket To Ride" the group was The Beatles. It was their seventh UK number one in a sequence of eleven consecutive UK number one hits. It was their eighth US number one in 15 months.

The Searchers had their last UK top ten hit in 1965 with "Goodbye My Love" which reached number four. The Dave Clark Five had one UK top ten hit in 1965 with "Catch Us If You Can" a number five hit. It reached number four on the US chart. The Small Faces reached number 14 on the UK chart in 1965 with "Whatcha Gonna Do About It"

The Australian group The Seekers had their only two UK number one hits in 1965. They were "I'll Never Find Another You" a US number four and "The Carnival Is Over". The Everly Brothers just missed the top spot on the UK chart in 1965 with "The Price Of Love". It stalled at number two and it never charted in the US.

"I'm Alive" sang the Hollies, with some relief I should think. It was the only number one in the 60's for this very popular British group. It never charted in the US.

Manfred Mann just missed the UK number one spot with "If You Gotta Go, Go Now" in 1965, it never charted in the US. Freddie and The Dreamers had two minor UK hits in 1965, their last chart entry being "Thou Shalt Not Steal" at number 44. The Beach Boys had a US number one in 1965 with "Help Me, Rhonda". It reached number 26 on the UK chart.
10. Who took quite a while to find out how their girlfriend felt with this song? "It took me so long To find out"

Answer: The Beatles

The Beatles sang "Day Tripper" a UK double A-side number one with "We Can Work It Out" in 1965. "Day Tripper" reached number five in the US while "We Can Work It Out" reached number one. It was their third UK number one from three singles in 1965.

The Rolling Stones also had three UK number one's from three singles in 1965 the last of which was "Get Off Of My Cloud". The Turtles had a US number eight in 1965 with a Bob Dylan song "It Ain't Me Babe". Gerry and The Pacemakers had their last UK chart hit in 1965 with "Walk Hand In Hand" at number 29.
