She had also appeared in mainstream movies such as the Howard Stern autobiography, "Private Parts" (1997) and the 2006 movie, "What Love Is", starring Cuba Gooding Jr.
3. American civil rights activist and Baptist minister.

Answer: Jesse Jackson

Jackson, who was 14 years old at the time of the famous Montgomery bus boycott of 1955, has done much for civil rights. At age 19, he was arrested along with several other men for staging a sit in at a public library, which resulted in the Greenville, South Carolina City Council closing both the main library and the branch black people used temporarily until they were threatened with a lawsuit.

He went on to work for Martin Luther King Jr. and take part in the Selma to Montgomery marches and in later years has campaigned on behalf of gay marriage, comparing the fight for same-sex marriage to the fight against slavery.
4. American outlaw. Bank, stagecoach and train robber.

James was the leader of the James-Younger gang of outlaws who operated mainly across Missouri, but also ventured into Kansas, Iowa, Kentucky and Louisiana. 5. British-American lawyer. Founding father of USA

Answer: John Jay

Jay helped negotiate and was a signatory to the 1783 Treaty of Paris between Great Britain and USA and also negotiated the 1795 treaty with Great Britain, commonly referred to as the Jay Treaty, which resolved issues outstanding from the Treaty of Paris and ushered in a new era of peaceful trading between the two countries.

In 1789, he was appointed first Chief Justice of the newly formed United States, by George Washington, a role he carried out for six years.
6. Leader of People's Temple cult movement. Committed suicide in Guyana in 1979.

Answer: Jim Jones

Jim 'the Prophet' Jones proclaimed himself messiah of the San Francisco based religious group, the People's Temple. When claims began mounting that he was diverting group funds for his own use, he went to Guyana promising followers a religious utopia in an agricultural commune called Jonestown.

In 1978, U.S. Congressman Leo Ryan went to Guyana to investigate alleged human rights abuses at Jonestown but when he left, along with several members of the cult who had indicated a wish to leave, things turned ugly, resulting in Ryan and four others being shot dead. Jim Jones, worried that the survivors would return with authorities, ordered a mass suicide plan be executed at Jonestown, resulting in 909 people, 304 of which were children, dying of cyanide poisoning while Jones himself died of a self inflicted gun shot to the head.
7. Surprise winner of 1986 World Snooker Championships.

Answer: Joe Johnson

Johnson turned professional in 1979, but by 1986, was only ranked number 16 in the World Championships, and was largely unknown to the public and rated as a 150/1 outsider by bookmakers. In the final he met Steve Davis, who was world ranked number one each season between 1984 and 1990.

Incredibly, Johnson won by a score of 18-12 to cap a remarkable tournament. The following year, Johnson once again reached the final, once again against Davis but was beaten 18-14 and by 1990, his world raking had fallen below the top 16. Johnson retired in 2005, but continued playing on the senior tour, an event he won in 2019.
8. First African American world heavyweight boxing champion. Known as the Galveston Giant.

Answer: Jack Johnson

Johnson's record of 74 wins from 104 fights, 40 of them by knockout is impressive enough to make him a household name, but the fact that he did this as an African American at the height of the Jim Crow era ensures he will always be remembered. Johnson was married three times, each time to a white woman and in 1913 was sentenced by an all white jury to a year and a day in prison.

His crime, under the Mann Act was transporting a white woman (his girlfriend, later his second wife) across state lines for immoral purposes, an offence for which he was finally given a presidential pardon in 2018 by Donald Trump. Johnson died in a car accident in 1946, aged 68.
9. Irish novelist. Wrote "Ulysses" in 1922.

Answer: James Joyce

Joyce was born in Dublin in 1882 and "Ulysses" is his best known work, often considered one of the most important works in progressive literature, often compared to Homer's epic poem, "The Odyssey". "Ulysses" covers a day in Dublin from the point of view of 18 different characters and has been adapted for theatre, film and TV.
10. Leeds United striker 1970-78. Won 52 caps for Scotland.

Answer: Joe Jordan

After just three seasons there, he was signed by A.C. Milan with whom he was a part of the Serie B winning side that won promotion in 1983. Following his retirement from playing in 1989, he turned to management and coaching, having spells at Bristol City, Portsmouth, Celtic and as assistant manager to Lawrie McMenemy with the Northern Ireland national team.
