1. Who was king of Israel when a champion named Goliath became a threat during battle?

Answer: Saul

Even though Saul was the king of Israel during that time, the victory against Goliath came by the hands of a young man named David. You can find the story in 1 Samuel 17.
2. Which king of Israel was recognized because he drove his chariot "like a madman"?

Answer: Jehu

Jehu's driving must have been very distinctive if he was recognized by a lookout from far away -- only by the way he drove. The quote is found in 2 Kings 9:20.
3. Which king's life was extended 15 years after he cried out to God in prayer?

Answer: Hezekiah

Hezekiah had been ill and received a message from God letting him know that he needed to put his house in order because he was going to die. Hezekiah prayed to God and, thanks to that prayer, God extended his life 15 more years. In 2 Kings 20:1-11, you can find the full story.
4. Israel was divided into two kingdoms during the reign of which king?

Answer: Rehoboam

Rehoboam, son of Solomon, decided to listen to his friends instead of to the elders of his kingdom and, in a speech that would scare anyone away, he told the people that he would be harsher and tougher than his father had been. The people of Israel rebelled against him and chose another king. Rehoboam continued reigning as king over the tribe of Judah. This story is in 1 King 12:1-24.
5. Which king wasn't allowed to build the temple to God because of all the blood he had spilled?

Answer: David

David had wanted to build a temple to God, but he was not allowed to do so because he was a man of war and he had shed blood. Instead, David prepared most of the materials that would be needed and charged his son Solomon with the job of constructing the temple. This story is in 1 Chronicles 28:3.
6. In a stroke of bad luck (or divine guidance) this king was killed by an arrow that was shot at random. Who was he?

Answer: Ahab

In 2 Chronicles 18:28-34, we read that Ahab decided to disguise himself when he entered into battle so that he would not be recognized as the king. An enemy soldier shot his bow at random and the arrow lodged itself between the sections of Ahab's armor.
7. During which king's reign was the Book of the Law found while the temple was being repaired?

Answer: Josiah

Josiah was eight years old when he came to power. After eighteen years of being king, he commissioned men to restore the temple of the Lord and, while the reparations were going on, one of the men found the Book of the Law. This story is in 2 Kings 22:3-20.
8. Who was king in Judah when Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, invaded and took everyone captive to Babylon?

Answer: Jehoiachin

In accordance to the prophesies given by the prophets of the Lord, Jerusalem fell in the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, who took all of the treasures from the temple, all of the fighting men, all of the craftsmen and artisans, the king, his mother, his wives and all his officials to Babylon. According to the book of 2 Kings 24:8-17, he only left the poorest people in the land.
9. Which king of Judah took what was left of the treasures of the Temple to make a treaty with the king of Aram?

Answer: Asa

In an effort to protect himself against the king of Israel, Asa sent all the gold from the Lord's temple and from his own palace to make a treaty with Ben-Hadad, king of Aram. His plan worked and the king of Israel retreated; however, God was not pleased that Asa had gone to the enemy for help instead of asking help from God. This story is from 2 Chronicles 16:1-10.
10. Which king of Israel's hand shriveled up when he raised it against a man of God?

Answer: Jeroboam

Jeroboam had built idols and an altar for Israel to worship in Bethel. A man of God was sent to speak against these actions. When Jeroboam raised his hand to order the man be taken prisoner, his hand shriveled up and he couldn't pull it back. The king then asked the man of God to intercede for him to God so that his hand would be healed. This story is in 1 Kings 13.
