Incredibly, Chelsea and Liverpool were drawn against each other in the group stages of the champions league as Liverpool were the fifth English team in the competition after winning it the previous year, yet only finishing fifth in the league. They also met twice in the league and in the FA Cup semi-final.

Answer: Hamburg SV

The nickname of "the cannibal" came from Boulharouz's reputation of "eating up" opposition attacks.

It was in fact previous boss Claudio Ranieri, who bought the young Czech goalkeeper from Rennes, just three months before he left the job. He also bought Arjen Robben fom PSV at the same time.

The other two came in the 2-1 victory of Barcelona at Stamford Bridge where both John Terry and Carlos Puyol scored at the wrong end. The first tie ended in a 5-4 victory for Chelsea, with the second being won 3-2 by Barcelona.

7. Who were the only English team to come away from Stamford Bridge with a victory?

Answer: Charlton

Although Charlton was the first team to come away with a victory after they beat Chelsea on penalties in the third round of the Carling Cup, the record books still show a draw as penalty knockouts do not count as a loss with the FA.
