1. The Italian rider Tarquinio Provini has four Isle of Man TT wins to his name. With which team did he achieve the most of his wins?

Answer: MV Agusta

Tarquinio won 3 times while riding for the MV Agusta Team. He also achieved one win for the Mondial team on the Isle of Man. However the TT race was also the cause of his retirement, due to an accident in the 1966 race in which he broke his back. He passed away in Bologna in 2005.
2. The Northern Irish rider Joey Dunlop is one of most successful TT riders with a total of 26 wins, in the various classes. Which one of the years listed, is NOT one of his hat-trick years in the Isle of Man TT races?

Answer: 1983

Even though Joey Dunlop did have a win in 1983 he only took part in two motorcycle classes that year. In 1985 he entered four classes winning three of them. He entered five classes in 1988 and 2000 again winning three of them. Sadly a month after his last hat trick he died while racing in Estonia, his funeral was attended by over fifty thousand people.

The 26 mile part of the Isle of Man TT course is named "Joeys" in his honour.

Answer: 7

Foggy held the lap record for seven years. His Lap time was 18 mins 18.8 seconds for the TT course with an average speed of 123.61mph set in 1992 on his last lap. However this blistering lap round the TT course wasn't enough for him to claim the 1992 Senior TT title as that went to Steve Hislop who was just 4.4 seconds quicker overall. Steve Hislop win was also Norton's 1st win since 1973 on the TT.

In a recent Fan poll, this race between Fogerty and Hislop was voted one of the greatest in the Isle of Man TT history.
4. Jimmy Guthrie won six Isle of Man TT races, from 1930 to 1937. Five of those races he won while riding a motorcycle manufactured by Norton. In which country did Jimmy Guthrie die while racing in 1937?

Answer: Germany

Jimmy Guthrie died while racing in the German Motorcycle Grand Prix in 1937 having won the event in the previous two years. His first TT title he won riding AJS motorcycle in 1930. He also served in the army during World War 1 at Gallipoli and was dispatch rider on the western front. Guthrie's Memorial is a section of the TT circuit named in his honour.

Answer: Segrave Trophy

Mike Hailwood was awarded the Segrave Trophy in 1979. The Segrave trophy is awarded to those of British Nationality who push the uses of transport by water, land and air. After winning many titles and championships on motorcycles he went on to race in cars from 1969 onwards, racing for F1 teams like Lotus and McLaren.

He returned to race in the IOM TT in 1978 winning a race that year and his last TT race win came in 1979. Sadly Mike died in road traffic accident along with his daughter in 1981.

William won the 1953 Senior and Junior TT classes and another Senior title in 1954 while riding for the Norton team. He signed for MV Agusta team in 1955, only to crash on his debut for the team racing at the Imola Circuit in Italy. He died on the way to hospital from his injuries sustained in the crash.

The Boy Scouts have been involved with the Isle of Man TT since 1911, manning the scoreboards. Stanley's family business in Ireland was in the toffee making business, would often bring some toffee as a treat for the scouts. His very 1st TT win came in 1923 and his last win was in 1939.

Answer: TT Zero

Ian Hutchinson was the 1st ever rider to attain a clean sweep across the board winning all of the main IOM TT races in 2010. He didn't compete in the new event called the TT Zero, a race for motorcycles with no emissions. That race was won by the American rider Mark Miller. It was also the 1st time since 1911 that an American made motorcycle had won a TT race.

Between 1952 and 1960 John Surtees had a total of six wins at the IOM TT. He has a total of seven world championships in motorcycling and one world championship in Formula 1. He also went on to form his own team in Formula 1 that took part in F1 between 1970 and 1978.

His son Henry went on to race in the Formula 2 series. However, a freak accident while racing in 2009 was to end his life, when a loose wheel from another car came bouncing across the Brands Hatch track and hit his helmet.

1989 was Dave Molyneux 1st win in the TT. In 2006 TT race, his sidecar flipped while traveling over 140mph and had to retire from the races that year because of his injuries. 1985 was his debut year in the TT but he was a DNF standing for both sidecar races.

In 1987 his attained his 1st finish of the TT with a 10th place finish overall. He has also constructed race winning sidecars for other riders.
