Sam was the 24th pick out of Florida State in 1993. During his career he has been part of trades for Charles Barkley, Jason Kidd and Stephon Marbury. Sam attended Baltimore Dunbar High School. At Florida State we was teammates with future NBA players Bob Sura and Charlie Ward.

Robert was drafted by Houston with the 11th pick in the 1992 draft. He has been a part of six NBA championship teams (Houston twice, Lakers three times, and the Spurs in 2003).
