Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Alexandria was first built as a planned community in the suburbs of what major city?

Answer: Washington, D.C.

The upscale, planned, "green community," which ran on solar and water power, had houses that started "in the low $800,000s." However, the military took it over as a safe-zone shortly after the outbreak and directed a number of survivors there. Though Alexandria is supposed to be in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C., the set was filmed in Senoia, Georgia, nearby where Woodbury was filmed.
2. What was the profession of Deanna Monroe before she became the leader of the Alexandria Safe-Zone?

Answer: Congresswoman from Ohio

Deanna Monroe was a U.S. Congresswoman from Ohio and was vacating D.C. to return to Ohio to check on her constituents when the military directed her and her husband and two sons to the Safe-Zone, where her husband, a professor of architecture, helped to build the walls. The military never returned.
3. Whom did Deanna put in charge of recruiting new members for the Alexandria Safe-Zone?

Answer: Aaron and Eric

Aaron was in charge of recruiting, along with his boyfriend Eric, both of whom used to work for an NGO in Africa. It was Aaron who brought Rick's group into Alexandria. When Eric was injured and retried from recruiting, Aaron invited Daryl to join him in his recruiting adventures. Deanna's son Aiden, a former member of ROTC, was a supply runner. Her son Spencer kept guard with a rifle.
4. Which of these people was NOT a resident of Alexandria when Rick's group arrived?

Answer: Ezekiel

Ezekiel was the leader of the Kingdom, and he was unknown to Rick's group at that time. Enid wandered upon the community after her parents died. Jessie Anderson, the wife of the abusive Pete Anderson and mother of Sam and Ron Anderson, became Rick's girlfriend briefly. Nicholas was a supply runner who caused Noah's death and later killed himself by shooting himself in the head when he and Glenn were surrounded by walkers.

As his body fell, he brought Glenn down with him into the herd, but Glenn survived.
5. After Alexandria recruited Rick's group to help them survive the harsh world, how many members of the Monroe family ended up getting killed over the next year?

Answer: All four

Deanna's husband Reg died first, after being attacked by Pete Anderson. Her son Aiden died next, while on a supply run. Then she died after the Wolves attacked. Not too long after, Spencer was killed by Negan. Alexandria also lost the entire Anderson family in that time period (Jesse, Pete, and their two boys Sam and Ron), as well as numerous other members of the community. Maybe Rick's group wasn't so essential to their well-being after all.
6. Who managed the inventory in Alexandria, occasionally babysat Judith, and was shot dead by Arat on the order of Negan when the Saviors came to collect?

Answer: Olivia

Negan came to collect but found Rick's house empty and Olivia babysitting Judith. Later, when Rosita tried to shoot Negan and the bullet lodged in his bat, he demanded to know who made the bullet. Negan had Arat shoot Olivia to get the bullet maker - Eugene - to step forward.
7. Which of the following NEVER served as a town doctor in Alexandria?

Answer: Caleb Subramanian

Pete Anderson was Alexandria's original doctor, but he was killed by Rick. Dr. Denise Cloyd, who had studied psychology, was asked to take over for him. She was killed by Dwight. Siddiq, a former first-year resident doctor, became Alexandria's doctor after Denise died and the Saviors were defeated. Caleb Subramanian was a doctor in the Atlanta prison camp and was referred to by Daryl as "Dr. S." He was killed while treating patients when sickness swept the prison.
8. What member of the Alexandrian construction crew established a brief romantic relationship with Carol?

Answer: Tobin

Deanna Monroe put Abraham Ford in charge of the construction crew when Rick's group arrived. Though a hard worker, Tobin was willing to sacrifice one of the members of the crew, Francine, when a walker threat arose that might kill multiple members of the crew. However, Abraham managed to save everyone. Carol later ditched Tobin with a "Dear John" letter.
9. After Rick's disappearance, Michonne selected a council to help her lead. Who served as the head of that Council?

Answer: Father Gabriel

Michonne had veto power over the council, which was led by Father Gabriel and included Laura (a former Savior), Siddiq, Aaron, Kyle, and Nora. At one point, Daryl Dixon also served as Michonne's proxy to vote when she was absent. The council made a variety of decisions, including whether to admit Magna's group.
10. Which of the following people was NEVER kept in Alexandria's jail cell?

Answer: Jadis, leader of the Scavengers

Morgan used to be a welder before the apocalypse, and he welded the cell for Alexandria. He imprisoned Owen, the leader of the Wolves, in that cell, because he didn't want Carol to kill Owen. The cell was later used to house Negan for many years. When Dante's secret loyalties to Alpha were revealed, he was imprisoned in the cell, where Father Gabriel killed him.

As of season 10, episode 15, Alexandria was the longest-surviving community on "The Walking Dead." By the time "The Tower" aired, Alexandria had outlasted the Atlanta quarry camp, the Greene Family Farm, the prison, the Kingdom, and the Hilltop. Oceanside still survived, but it was established after Alexandria and was therefore shorter-lived by that time.
