Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where was the prison camp located?

Answer: West Georgia

The name of the prison was the West Georgia Correctional Facility. It was located near Newman, Georgia. The prison had been subjected to riots near the start of the apocalypse, and most of the prisoners and guards had died and turned, except for a handful of prisoners locked away from the tumult in the cafeteria.
2. Which of the following "Walking Dead" characters NEVER lived in the prison camp?

Answer: Dale, Shane, and Sophia

Sophia, Dale, and Shane all died prior to the group finding the prison. Rick's group found the prison after fleeing the Greene family farm. At that point, the only people still alive in their group were Maggie, Beth, Hershel, Glenn, Daryl, Lori, Carol, Carl, and T-Dog. (Andrea was still alive but had disappeared.)
3. Do any of the prisoners discovered locked in the mess hall ever integrate into the camp?

Answer: yes

While three of the five prisoners are killed early on, Oscar and Axel become active members of the camp. They are allowed to interact with the others, though Carol warns Axel away from Beth. Oscar is eventually shot by a Woodbury guard and Axel is killed by the Governor.
4. Which of the following people is NOT properly matched with his role at the prison?

Answer: Rick, head of the five-member prison council

Rick did not serve on the prison council. The prison council took over leadership when Rick stepped back. Hershel, a veterinarian, initially became the doctor of the group after they cleared the prison. He trained Carol to assist him with medical procedures and sent Daryl on supply runs in search of medicines.

He also treated numerous patients when sickness swept the prison. Daryl is shown being thanked by a member of the camp, Patrick, when he hunts and brings back a deer for the camp. Glenn can be seen in the guard tower and also going on a supply run with Maggie.
5. The prison camp absorbs refugees from what fallen community?

Answer: Woodbury

In Season 3, the Governor's army retreats after a failed attack on the prison. The Governor guns many of them down, but one, Karen, survives by hiding under a body. Rick's group then brings her back to Woodbury, where she testifies what happened, and the survivors of Woodbury load onto busses and come as refugees to the prison camp.

At that time, Sasha and Tyreese also rejoin the group.
6. Which three men serve on the prison council?

Answer: Hershel, Glenn, and Daryl

Rick decided to step down from leadership in the season 3 episode "This Sorrowful Life." The council was formed sometime during the time gap between seasons 3 and 4. Hershel is the leader of the council, which also consists of Daryl and Glenn.
7. Which two women served on the prison council?

Answer: Carol and Sasha

Lori is dead by the time the council is formed. It is partly because Rick is overcome by her death that he steps down. Neither Maggie nor Michonne serve on the Council. Sasha was a member of the absorbed Woodbury community and quickly becomes a member of the prison camp's inner circle.
8. To determine whether or not to bring survivors back to the prison camp, Rick's group asks them which three questions?

Answer: How many walkers have you killed? How many people have you killed? Why?

The audience first sees Rick tell a woman she has to answer these questions before being allowed to join the group in season 4. Carl later asks these questions of Siddiq when he discovers him outside of Alexandria. Daryl and Glenn are also known to use them when they happen upon survivors. On the "Talking Dead" after show, Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, said "If they give any sort of answer we think is suspect or the way they answer it is suspect, then they don't come back. So it's basically just a buffer, a first shield, and then it's just a matter of proving yourself."
9. Which member of the group is banished from the prison community?

Answer: Carol

Rick banishes Carol for killing Karen and David and burning their bodies to stop the spread of a sickness that sweeps the prison. He takes her on a scavenging trip and leaves her with a car and some supplies. She later meets up with the group again after rescuing them all from Terminus, and Rick welcomes her back into the fold.
10. How is the prison destroyed?

Answer: The Governor attacks it and it's flooded by walkers

The Governor's militia kills many of the inhabitants of the prison. Using a tank, he smashes through its defenses, and it is flooded by walkers. The survivors are scattered. In season 4, episode 10, "Inmates," we see the aftermath of the attack as different small groups of survivors wander in search of one another.
11. Which of these children was born in the prison camp?

Answer: Judith

Lori gave birth to Judith in the prison. Lizzie and Mika were refugees who came to the prison between seasons. Other children who lived there included Patrick, Luke, and Molly. At this time, Lydia would have been living nomadically with her mother Alpha.
12. Which of the following men served as one of the doctors in the prison camp?

Answer: Dr. Caleb Subramanian (Dr. S)

Dr. Caleb Subramanian became the primary doctor for the camp sometime between season 3 and 4. Daryl and other members of the community referred to him more simply as Dr. S. He died treating patients when sickness swept the prison. Dr. S. was played by Sunkrish Bala.
13. Which of these characters was found by Daryl and Glenn and invited to live in the prison camp?

Answer: Bob

The audience sees Glenn and Daryl encountering Bob in a flashback. He was the sole surviving member of his group. Bob served as a medic for the prison camp, having been an army medic, but he also wrestled with an alcoholism problem. He and Sasha developed a brief romantic relationship.
14. Which of the following two animals at one point lived at the prison camp?

Answer: A horse and a pig

Michonne has a horse that lived at the prison until it was consumed by walkers. The group also managed to secure a pig at some point (though it is not shown how), which unfortunately became sick and died. The disease spread from the pig to the rest of the camp, leaving several dead.
15. In which episode does Rick's group begin to secure the prison, and in which episode is it destroyed?

Answer: "Seed" (3.1) / "Too Far Gone" (4.8)

The audience gets its first glimpse of the prison, silhouetted in the dark, at the end of "Beside the Dying Fire," but Rick's group does not begin to secure the location until Season 3, episode 1, "Seed," which aired October 14, 2012 on AMC. The prison is destroyed in Season 4, episode 8, "Too Far Gone." The prison continues to appear in flashbacks and archive footage in season 5, 7, and 10.
