It was Phoebe's adopted mother who committed suicide. Phoebe later learns that her real mother is very much alive and living in Montawk.

Answer: Fun Bobby

Fun Bobby had a serious drinking problem. After some convincing, he decides to quit drinking for Monica. Now "Fun Bobby" is no longer fun at all. His stories are boring, his jokes are nonexistent and according to Chandler, Fun Bobby is now, "ridiculously dull Bobby".
