"Return to Roanoke" (Chapter 7) Quiz

Off the main property of the Roanoke house, the production crew 'Return to Roanoke' watches the cameras for their show from their offices in the woods. Sidney is simply thrilled with the progress so far, and he watches as Dominic makes his reentry into the house, eagerly anticipating the fight to occur.

His assistant, Alyssa, asks about Diana coming back, but Sidney doesn't really care. As Alyssa leaves, however, Sidney misses Rory getting stabbed on-camera, and follows his assistant's screams outside to find her throat slashed.

He's attacked from behind by Agnes, dressed as The Butcher and wielding a knife.

Answer: Heading to Hollywood

In the house, Audrey walks through the rooms searching for Rory who appears to be missing. While the others gather around the bloodied 'MURDER' written on the dining room wall, they explain that maybe he went hiding on them to spook them all. Dominic, Matt, and Shelby head upstairs to look and Dominic finds a pool of blood.

It is Rory's but Audrey believes that Sidney's simply playing a game with them. Rory, she figures, ended up leaving to pursue his potential Hollywood role, and this was simply a cheap attempt to scare them all.

She also worries that, maybe, he ran out on her.

Answer: The root cellar

In the root cellar out back, Agnes sets up a camera and lights a torch, deciding to have her own confessional. She believes that Sidney should never have cast her aside. In fact, while she momentarily regrets killing Alyssa, she does believe that all of them needed to die, if only because they took her own life in the role of The Butcher-- her destiny.

She mutters about being the fan favourite as her torch is snuffed out. She relights it to the sound of chanting, and when the room illuminates once more, she finds that wooden symbols have been hung from the ceiling-- all crosses within circles-- and she screams.

Answer: Dominic

The next morning, Monet and Dominic take a look at the dining room over a drink while Lee films them, taking her story into her own hands with a handheld camera. In the kitchen, Shelby pours herself some orange juice and complains that Dominic should never have come back. Matt walks in on their conversation, asserting that he doesn't want her anyways, so he should have her.
Matt, in a confessional, claims that he's just in the house to garner ratings. Sidney purposely wired him to shake things up and be the bad guy. In a calculated way, he plans to shake things up.

Answer: They head through the smugglers' tunnels

Shelby heads to her room to cry over her situation and finds a camera on the bed, which she finds odd since no full cameras should be in the house-- only hidden ones. As she investigates, Agnes emerges from behind her brandishing a butcher knife and claiming that she just wanted to be a part of the show.

When she refuses to back down, she chases Shelby to the door and slices her down the back. Before she can deal a death blow, however, Dominic runs in and knocks her out smashing her head on the bedroom mirror.

He goes to help Shelby, but Agnes disappears when his back is turned. Audrey and Matt rush in to mend Shelby's horribly-cut shoulder. There's no phone though; someone cut the lines. Everyone's afraid. An hour passes, and production doesn't communicate or send an ambulance, so they decide to take matters into their own hands and leave the house through the tunnels. Lee, Monet, and Audrey take this route, leaving Matt and Dominic back with Shelby.

Audrey, Lee, and Monet find that the tunnels are actually rigged with cameras, despite their expectations, and decide to move anyways. They head through for what seems like a long time, nearing the light at the end of the tunnel while filming their path, before someone stands in their way.

It seems to be Edward Mott...at least someone who looks like him...or Rory...but when it lumbers towards them emitting an inhuman screech, Lee fires her gun at it, shooting it four times. They flee, making their way out into the wilderness instead, and Lee forces the others to admit that the ghosts are real.

They head in a direction and keep moving.

Up in the bedroom, Matt and Shelby realize that their marriage ended when they moved into the Roanoke house. Matt feels as though, for two years, he's been wandering in the woods. Shelby still feels like they can get back what they lost.
Out in the forest, the ladies find that they're travelling under the blood moon and that night is falling. They finally make it to the trailer, but they discover that there are no cell phones or laptops. Sidney's car is dead. Of course, they find the production crew's bodies by the trailer as well.
As Audrey backs away from the carnage, Agnes emerges from the woods brandishing her knife. Fortunately, Lee is armed. She aims and takes a shot at the actress, taking her down immediately. The three of them flee down the laneway.

The women continue down the laneway, opting to head back towards town instead of taking their chances back at the house. As they plod onwards though, they find themselves walking opposite a group of torch-bearing figures in the woods, and Lee has them run into the treeline to hide. Audrey films a confessional in which she tells Rory she loves him and hopes they can see each other again. She sees him at the very least; he's strung up above them at that very moment-- dead, and disembowelled.
Lee continues to film. People need to see, she says. That's when they're found. Two people come along with flashlights and track them through the woods, tasing them before they can get away.
In the root cellar, Agnes, sitting in front of her camera with a torch and a pair of pliers, wrenches the bullet out of her body and cries. The house, and everything in it, she says, will be consumed by flame by the end of the night.

Answer: To reunite with Scathach

In the house, Matt awakens, having fallen asleep next to Shelby in bed, but he seems to be detached from reality. He stalks mindlessly through the house and past Dominic who, noticing, takes up pursuit. He heads to the basement and into the darkness and, on his necklace camera, he captures Matt being taken aside by something and ravaged. Dominic heads up tot he bedroom to grab Shelby and bring her downstairs, and when she arrives she finds Scathach on top of her ex-husband.

She attacks them with a crowbar and Matt reveals to her that the only reason he came back to Roanoke was to be with Scathach.

This, however, doesn't sit well with Shelby. She turns the crowbar on him, smashing his head in on the basement floor, as Dominic tries to pull her away.

Answer: Lee

Lee is strapped to a chair by her captors, the Polk Family, who have returned during the blood moon. With Lee's camera in hand, they begin seasoning her leg for dinner, forcing her to prepare the meal for herself. The mother is the one to jam the meat fork into her leg.
In the bathroom of the house, Dominic finally gets the crowbar out of her hands and says that she didn't mean to kill her ex-husband. Shelby says that she can't go to prison, but there are still cameras up in the house, and everything has been captured on them. The best thing for her, he says, is to confess. When noises are heard in the house, Dominic believes it to be the girls and leaves Shelby to herself while he checks on them.
In the Polk house, the family feeds pieces of Lee to Monet and Audrey, forcing them using their taser.
The girls obviously have not returned to the house. Dominic and Shelby watch as Agnes dumps gasoline on the front steps and she chants as a torch-bearing crowd moves in behind her. She finally realizes they've arrived, and as she turns around she meets her maker-- the actual Butcher. She goes down to her knees as The Butcher slices through her head with a knife.
