Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who suggests that everyone split up because, as Charles Darwin claimed, it's "survival of the fittest"?

Answer: Ray

While Brooke, Chet, Ray, and Rita search the nurse's cabin for Rita's keys, Richard Ramirez pounds on the locked cabin door. Chet and Ray work together to try and block the entry with furniture and they succeed in waiting out the banging, but only until he starts breaking the windows in an attempt to get in. Rita scrambles to locate the keys and finally does while Ray suggests they split up-- survival of the fittest and all. That's when Ramirez finally breaks in.

The murderer goes straight for Ray, slashing at his arms with his knife, but Chet is able to shove him off and allow all of them to get out.
2. According to the townies, what happens on Mr. Jingles Day?

Answer: Kids pull pranks

In their own cabin, Montana, Xavier, and Trevor wait for their own menace to leave and sure enough, he stops banging on the door with little fuss. Trevor checks under the crack of the door to make sure their stalker is gone, but he's not; Mr. Jingles appears at the window and breaks it open before tossing a flaming bag into the cabin. Trevor stomps it out only to find the bag is filled with human excrement, and when the counsellors check outside, they find that their tormentor is actually two townies pulling pranks in Mr. Jingles' outfit. Montana and Trevor chastise them, but only until the real Mr. Jingles appears behind the boys from own, kills them both, and takes their ears as souvenirs.
3. Who falls into the spike pit and finds themselves impaled on one of the traps?

Answer: Chet

While several of the campers flee through the woods, Chet and Ray, split up from Brooke and Rita after leaving the infirmary, fall into a carefully dug pit lined at the bottom with long, wooden stakes. Ray manages to dodge the stakes, but Chet is impaled by one of them, landing on his back and forcing a pole through his shoulder. Ray tries to pull him off, but it's no use; it's probably stopping him from bleeding out In a clearing, Mr. Jingles locates a third townie who, eager to support the bullies he's come in with, dons his mask and heads out to pull some pranks. Jingles allows him to go onward without killing him.
4. Who assisted Mr. Jingles in escaping the mental institution?

Answer: Donna

Brooke and Rita are the only ones to make it back to the car and Rita tries to convince Brooke that they should stay at the camp and wait for the others. Brooke, afraid, suggests going for help and Rita concedes, handing her the keys to the car before restraining the counsellor and injecting her with a sedative. The truth is that Rita, as the campers know her, was never a nurse. Actually named Donna Chambers, she arrived at Benjamin Richter's mental institution to speak to Dr. Hopple a week before heading to the camp in an effort to learn more about the serial killer. Hopple attempted to convince Donna that there was no point in her visiting, but Donna was able to persuade the doctor of her fraudulent credentials and get an audience to Mr. Jingles in his cell.

She managed to get left alone with him in an interrogation room and speak to him bluntly about his killings to learn more and fuel her interest in serial killing.
5. What did Mr. Jingles blame for the spike in serial killings in the 1970s and 1980s?

Answer: High-fructose corn syrup

Turning off the tape recorder in the interrogation room, Donna tried to narrow down the causes of serial killers, especially since there was such a high prevalence of them after the mid-1970s. Although she thought it could have been triggered by a frequency of pornography or PTSD-related issues brought on by the Vietnam War, Richter theorized that maybe high-fructose corn syrup was a factor since it was being added to so many things. Richter, in the institution for fourteen years, told the authorities he didn't remember killing the campers but he was told he had a psychotic break leading to memory loss.

He asks if Donna can help him and she says she can, but only in his natural habitat, and with the camp reopening, it's the perfect opportunity. Richter doesn't want to kill again, and he knows he would if he went back, but Donna encourages him to do it so that they can figure out why serial killers do what they do and, maybe, stop them altogether.

She gives him the plan and the tools and tells him he'll see her at the camp in a week.
6. Which of these does Donna use to subdue Brooke?

Answer: Horse tranquilizers

Before arriving at Camp Redwood, the actual R.N., Rita, visited Roy's Gas Station to stop and refill her vehicle before making it to her new job. Noticing Donna following her since she got on Highway 5, Rita confronts her. Donna makes a convincing case, once again, that she's meant to be there, and Rita softens immediately, suggesting that they convoy up to their destination.

When Rita heads to the restroom though, Donna departs without the nurse, hiding her car, returning, and hiding in Rita's back seat. When Brooke awakens, she finds that Donna has injected her with horse tranquilizers.

When Brooke falls asleep, Rita drags her away.
7. Ray was a member of which of these?

Answer: A fraternity

In the pit, Chet seems to fall unconscious and when he does, Ray admits he never wanted to go to Camp Redwood; he only left Los Angeles because he was in trouble. He was in Omega Xi and during a fraternity pledge party the previous year, during 'The Long Night', he was partly responsible for the death of one of the new freshman pledges. That night, the pledge fell down the stairs and to cover up the accident and protect the fraternity, Ray disposed of the body, pushing a car containing the body off a cliff.

The worst part was, the pledge woke up in the driver's seat, and before Ray could save him, it went over the edge. Ray finishes the story and Chet reveals he was conscious, listening the whole time.
8. Where is the Camp Redwood's actual nurse, Rita, hidden?

Answer: The boathouse

Trevor, Xavier, and Montana arrive at the lakeside. Xavier suggests that they need to go back to save Margaret and Trevor agrees, saying they need to get Chef Bertie as well. The three of them hide in the beach house as Mr. Jingles nears, jingling his keys along the way, but they stumble upon the still-alive body of Rita, the actual Redwood nurse, tied up in a hiding spot. Jingles hears her cries of fear as she fights to escape but it alerts Mr. Jingles to her whereabouts.

He finds her, picks up a broken oar, and jams it down her throat while the others watch from their hiding spots.

They only leave when he does, but on the way out they see the name on her nurse's uniform.
9. Trevor pushes someone into the spike pit thinking it's Mr. Jingles. Who was it, actually?

Answer: One of the townies

Ray, realizing that Chet has been listening the whole time, makes an effort to escape the pit and succeeds. He leaves his friend down there to die while he runs. He ends up coming across Xavier, Trevor, and Montana and he lies about his whereabouts but tells the group that Brooke went with Rita. They know the truth about Rita though-- she's not actually 'Nurse Rita'. Ray refuses to stay on the campgrounds, so Trevor gives Ray the keys to his bike and forces Montana to go along with him to reach the payphone.
Out in the woods, Mr. Jingles hears Chet's cries from the bottom of the pit and, with an axe in hand, heads on his way.
Xavier and Trevor find Chet first, coming across the pit and going in to pull him off the stake. Trevor, up on the edge of the pit, warns them that someone is coming, but it turns out to be the third townie, who arrives just as the boys emerge from the hole. They hide in the treeline and see the fake Mr. Jingles, opting to fight back, but Trevor doesn't know what he's doing until too late. They find the mask in the bushes after; Trevor didn't kill the real deal.
10. Who is decapitated by Mr. Jingles?

Answer: Ray

Ray and Montana make it back to the parking lot to find all of the vehicles still there, but no one else is around. There are still drag marks on the ground from where Rita pulled Brooke through the gravel though, and when Montana investigates, Richard Ramirez laughs and emerges from the forest. Ray decides to flee on his own, taking Trevor's bike and leaving Montana to face the killer.

It turns out to be the wrong decision for him. Before Ray makes it to the gate, Mr. Jingles uses his axe to decapitate him. Ramirez, meanwhile, brandishes his knife at Montana and all she can do is embrace him aggressively and ask if he's killed 'her' yet.
