Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. By what name was Camp Redwood known before it took on that name?

Answer: Camp Golden Star

In 1948, back when the camp was still known as Camp Golden Star, Lavinia Richter worked at the cafeteria while her two sons attended. Though Bobby, her youngest, had a perfectly fine time getting along at camp, it was Benjamin who struggled to fit in. One day, the boys went out to the lake to go swimming and, urged by his mother to look out for Bobby, Benjamin made the decision to call off their swimming plans. Benjamin went off into the woods, but Bobby disobeyed and hopped into the water.
2. Bobby Richter was killed by a murderer.

Answer: False

Benjamin was quick enough to respond to the sound of his brother jumping into the lake, but he wasn't quick enough to stop some of the counsellors from starting up a motorboat and driving it out into the water, striking Bobby with the propellor. He was dead before they pulled him out of the water, and that's when Lavinia arrived, screaming at Bobby for not watching the boy and at everyone else around.

She blamed them all for the negligence.
3. Where does Donna help Brooke overcome her withdrawals?

Answer: In a motel

Donna brings Brooke back to a motel room and lets her know that she drugged her to convince others that she was executed, but the medication she used, known for mimicking brain damage, will take a few days to get out of her system. Donna stays by her side during the withdrawals and after a few days, Brooke has the strength to get the upper hand and, at the point of a needle, asks Donna why she's doing what she's doing. Donna, clearly spooked by what she saw in the woods five years earlier, says she's just trying to make it right.
4. To give Brooke a taste of the '80s, Donna takes her to which of these locations?

Answer: Roller rink

Brooke quickly discovers that Margaret plans to use Camp Redwood to host a major Food and Music Festival and Donna tells her to try to forget about it. Brooke, of course, believes that she's been brought back for a reason-- to kill Margaret because she stole her life away from her. Donna continues to try to dissuade Brooke though, and takes her to a roller disco to help her get over her loss of the 1980s.

It's there that they catch the eye of a man who claims he needs to get to his girlfriend's house.

He introduces himself as Bruce, but the women refuse his ask and depart.
5. Bruce is able to fix Donna's car by doing which of these?

Answer: Tightening a cap

Brooke and Donna return to the car and turn the key in the ignition but it fails to start, much to their surprise. Bruce, from inside the roller rink, offers to take a look and quickly identifies the problem-- a loose distributor cap-- and the girls feel like they have no choice but to give him a ride.

They don't make it too far down the road before Bruce starts acting creepily, and Brooke demands they pull over and let him out. When they pull over their discussion nearly leads to a confrontation, but that's when a cop pulls up behind their vehicle.

The cop asks for some ID, but Bruce shoots the officer instead, leaving the car as the women drive off.
6. The ghosts of Camp Redwood plan to use the music festival to do which of these?

Answer: Kill the festival-goers

Richter returns to Camp Redwood and the first person he sees is one of the fake Mr. Jingles he killed in 1984. Soon, he's ambushed by the others, and while they're eager to kill him for what he did, they're bound by Montana's request not to kill anyone until the festival.

It's why they take him 'to go', bringing him to the others for a major confrontation. It's there that they share plans-- Richter wants to kill Ramirez for what he's done, even though he's killed him once before; the ghosts of Redwood want to kill all of the music festival attendees. Why? They reason that if they do that, enough paranormal investigators will show up and, maybe, one will have a solution to help them all cross to the other side.
7. What was Lavinia wearing when she killed the camp counsellors in the 1950s?

Answer: A white nightgown

Richter is surprised that the ghosts want out of Redwood so badly since they're effectively free of the horrors of the world. It's not true though; there's a woman who chases them around the forest wearing nothing but a white nightgown, constantly terrorizing them. Richter knows who she is though-- his mother. Twenty years before the massacre he was blamed for, Lavinia Richter contributed to the blood curse of the property.

When Bobby died, Lavinia forced herself and Benjamin to stay and she took that opportunity to take out her rage on the counsellors she blamed for her son's death.

She exacted her bloody revenge in a white nightgown and nearly killed Benjamin before he turned the knife back on her in self-defence.
8. Lavinia admits to doing which of these things?

Answer: Coercing Margaret to kill the counsellors

Richter volunteers to visit his mother's final resting place and it's Xavier who's forced to take him (since the others won't go back). They end up at an abandoned and dilapidated cabin in the woods and from there, Richter goes alone, cracking open the front door and entering to find relics from his childhood, still intact. Lavinia appears before him before long, and she doesn't seem angry... at least not from the outset.

She wavers between kindness and rage but admits that she misses Bobby and searches for him.

She's been stuck at the campgrounds for decades, and she was there when he fell for Margaret. She admits that back in 1970, she whispered in Margaret's ear and compelled her to kill the other counsellors, and she did it to take away the only thing that Benjamin loved...because the wrong son was killed back in the 1950s. And Lavinia vows to continue letting Benjamin suffer because of what he did.
9. Does Brooke kill Bruce after he tries to get her to kill Donna with the stolen truck?

Answer: No

Donna and Brooke end up continuing their drive, but when they stop at a red light, they're struck from behind by Bruce, who stole the cop car from further back on the road. The collision knocks them out, and when Brooke is woken up she finds herself in a truck with Bruce in the passenger seat.

He points out that Donna is out in the road behind the truck, tethered to the rear bumper by a chain. Brooke's options, according to Bruce, are to put the car into drive and head off to see Billy Idol at the Camp Redwood Music Festival, or he can shoot her and then drive anyways. Bruce is committed-- he wants to rack up more kills than Bundy. Brooke gets the upper hand when she throws the truck into reverse, and by the time they're done with him...they tie him up to a street sign and Brooke cuts off his thumbs. No more hitchhiking.

They both head to Camp Redwood on foot.
10. Richard Ramirez kills which of these 1980s rock bands?

Answer: Kajagoogoo

Margaret, Trevor, and Courtney arrive at Camp Redwood to survey the concert space and before long, Trevor spots Montana watching him. He leaves while Margaret deals with the early arrival of Kajagoogoo and finds his former co-counsellor out in the wilderness. And they embrace, of course.
That night, Richard Ramirez makes his return to Camp Redwood and stakes a claim, killing the members of Kajagoogoo and leaving their bodies in their tour bus for Courtney to find.
In the meantime, Benjamin sharpens his knives out on the dock where his brother died. Lavinia tries to shoo him away, but when Benjamin tells her that he named his own son after his brother, she softens. She knows that Benjamin made a deal with the devil and she explains that Ramirez has come back to Redwood to collect on that. If Ramirez kills him, the deal is done, but if Richter kills himself, then he can do what he must to protect his boy. When Lavinia leaves, Benjamin apologizes to his brother and then stabs himself, committing suicide to come back as a ghost.
