Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The tenth leg of the race took place in which Filipino city?

Answer: Manila

The ninth leg of the race ended with teams arriving at the Pit Stop at Angkor Thom, so it was from there that teams departed at the start of their penultimate leg. Opening their first clue, teams were told to fly to the archipelago nation of the Philippines, specifically to the city of Manila, to continue racing.

It was from there, at Lapu Lapu Circle, that teams would commence a whole new type of leg that would determine who would head into the final round and race for the million dollar prize.
2. A City Sprint, as featured in Leg 10, would contain no Road Blocks and no Detour tasks.

Answer: True

Teams ended up taking a marked Jeepney to Lapu Lapu Circle and, to their concern, Phil, waiting for them all at what would inevitably be the Pit Stop. The catch was that all of them would start the leg equalized and complete a City Sprint, a series of tough tasks without Road Blocks, Detours, or other race mechanics. Once Phil gave them the go-ahead, they could hop into marked vehicles and make their way to the intersection of Macapagal Boulevard and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue where a dancing crossing guard would hand them their next clues as they drove by.
3. Which of these locations did teams not encounter during their City Sprint in the Philippines?

Answer: Fort Santiago

Grabbing their clue from crossing guard Ramiro Hinojas, teams needed to have their drivers take them to the Mall of Asia where, donning high-heeled shoes, they needed to run a half-kilometre race along the riverside esplanade. Completing this sent teams off to Binondro District where, after passing through the Arch of Goodwill, they could get another clue from a lion dancer.

This clue would subsequently take them on foot to the Manila Central Post Office to go shopping for ingredients at a local market that they could use to feed a horse in the square at Liwasang Bonifacio. Nothing quite like a mad dash!
4. The Memory Task found at the end of the City Sprint (in Leg 10) involved collecting which of these?

Answer: Instrument cases

For one final task towards the end of the City Sprint, teams headed to Mehan Garden for a tough memory task. There, a local band would perform a medley of four songs that should have been known to the racers since they'd been featured in previous legs. If they could recall all four songs they could use their knowledge of where they were heard (Trinidad & Tobago, Colombia, Paraguay, and France) to locate instrument cases bearing those nations flags. If these were presented in the order they were visited in the race (and not the order heard in the song!) they would receive one final clue.
5. Which team was eliminated from the race in the Philippines in Leg 10?

Answer: DeAngelo and Gary

After completing the memory task in Mehan Gardens and properly parsing through the instructions provided to them, teams received one last clue directing them back to Rizal Park and Lapu Lapu Circle, where they started the City Sprint, to check into the race's final Pit Stop. Riley and Maddison managed to take their fourth win of the race (and third consecutive victory), being followed only minutes later by Will and James and Hung and Chee.

This meant that, much to the smaller alliance's delight, DeAngelo and Gary were eliminated from the race right before the final leg. Due to the other teams' alliance the pair elected not to complete the final task, taking a two hour penalty, but the other teams checked in early in this wait.
6. Teams flew first class to what final destination city in Leg 11?

Answer: New Orleans

An early day in the Philippines kicked off the final leg of the race as three teams headed out from Lapu Lapu Park in Manila and headed to the airport. Taking upgraded seats across the Pacific, racers headed to New Orleans, Louisiana on the hunt for the finish line.

Their first stop was Louis Armstrong Park and, from there, the French Quarter, where they would join the Mari Gras festivities and collect fifty sets of red and fifty sets of yellow beads to trade for their next clue.
7. The first Road Block teams encountered in the race's final leg involved finding an item in which of these foodstuffs?

Answer: Cake

Once teams nabbed all of their beads, the grand marshal of the Bourbon Street festivities would hand over a Road Block clue asking for one team member to 'be left holding the baby'. In this task, both team members had to make their way on foot to the Cafe Beignet, playing washboards and travelling with the parade. Upon arrival, Will, Chee, and Maddison had to search through king cakes to find one with a baby baked inside. If they could find the hidden trinket, they and their partner could share six beignets and collect their next clue.
8. The final Road Block of the race forced teammates to jump from which of these?

Answer: Bridge

Leaving the Cafe Beignet full of powdered dough, teams needed to travel by taxi to Hall H of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. There, they opened a second Road Block and committed the alternate teammate (to the first task) to a harrowing rope swing over the Mississippi River at the Crescent City Connection Bridge. James, Hung, and Riley had to jump and grab their clue before both team members could rappel down the side of the bridge.
9. The final task of the race involved a puzzle made from fabric strips. What did the teams need to replicate?

Answer: The globe

After rappelling one hundred eighty feet down the side of the Crescent City Connection, teams' next order of business was to roll a massive ten-foot-tall orb along the riverside to the warehouse of Mardi Gras World, where New Orleans' parade floats are made.

When they returned the orb to its home, they then needed to outfit it with thirty-two fabric panels found in a marked crate, recreate the earth, and then place the fully-assembled piece on a float to get their final clue of the race.
10. Which team won "The Amazing Race 32"?

Answer: Will and James

The last clue teams received, leaving Mardi Gras World, told them to go where "the Saints go marching in" to locate the Finish Line and find their final placement. What teams needed to figure out was that their clues referred to the home of the NFL's New Orleans Saints, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Will and James were the first to reach the front gate and race out onto the field and when they landed on the final mat they won the million dollar prize, having travelled thirty-three thousand miles in eleven legs.

They were followed by Hung and Chee in second place and Riley and Maddison in third. Upon hitting the Finish Line, Will proposed to James; he said yes.
