Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Leg 5, teams flew from Hong Kong, arriving in what Canadian city for their tasks?

Answer: Whitehorse

Heading out from the Kun Iam Statue in Macau, China, teams were instructed to head back to the city of Hong Kong and fly themselves back over the Pacific Ocean to a connecting flight in Vancouver ultimately sending them to Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory. Upon their arrival in the evening, all eight teams were required to check in at the Sky High Wilderness Ranch and spend the night.

They would receive their next clue over breakfast the following morning.
2. Was an Express Pass used by a team to complete the Detour task in the Yukon in Leg 5?

Answer: No

While Natalie and Meaghan handed their second Express Pass over to another team in Hong Kong, it was not used in Leg 5. Additionally, the hockey players utilized their Express Pass in Hong Kong in Leg 3.

Early in the morning, teams received a Detour clue over breakfast. In both cases, teams stayed at the Sky High Wilderness Ranch. In 'Make Your Bed', teams had to construct a campsite, including a fire, to the proper specifications to get their next clue. Pierre and Michel, Mickey and Pete, Rex and Bob, and Cormac and Nicole completed this task. In 'Make a Sled', teams had to leash up three specific dogs, and use them to ride a sled around a marked course six times. Natalie and Meaghan, Alain and Audrey, Sukhi and Jinder, and Ryan and Rob finished this task.
3. Which team was forced to complete a Speed Bump in the Yukon in Leg 5?

Answer: Sukhi and Jinder

Immediately after the Detour, Sukhi and Jinder were required to complete a Speed Bump task since they placed last in the previous non-elimination leg. For this task, they had to take their Chevrolet Silverado, hitch a trailer to the back, and drive it twelve and a half kilometers to the Whitehorse Copper Trail to back it into a parking spot before they could continue on with the race.

In the meantime, the other teams drove themselves to Grey Mountain.
4. The Road Block in Leg 5 forced team members to participate in which complicated sporting event?

Answer: Biathlon

Reaching Grey Mountain, teams located their Road Block task for this leg of the race: a biathlon. For this task, the chosen member had to bike one kilometer through the forest, back to their starting point. Then, they received five bullets with which they had to hit five targets. If they did not hit all five, they could take another loop around the course to receive five more bullets to hit the rest, repeating until they finished. Ryan, Alain, Nicole, Natalie, Pete, Sukhi, Pierre, and Rex completed this task.
5. Which team was eliminated from the race in the Yukon in Leg 5?

Answer: Cormac and Nicole

After the Road Block, teams were told to drive to the red trail off Chadburn Lake Road in Whitehorse where they would be able to locate their next clues in canoes. Here, they were told to portage down the nearby trail to the Yukon River and paddle a kilometer downstream to their next Pit Stop.

Here, Alain and Audrey arrived in first place becoming the first team to overthrow Natalie and Meaghan's four-leg winning streak. As a result they won two tickets to a tropical destination from Air Canada and an extra $3,000.

In the end, after twenty-someodd laps at the biathlon track, it was Cormac and Nicole who arrived last, becoming the fourth eliminated team.
6. In Leg 6, teams flew to what Canadian province to complete their tasks?

Answer: Manitoba

Heading out from their fifth Pit Stop in Whitehorse, Yukon, the seven remaining teams flew to Winnipeg, Manitoba via Vancouver, British Columbia intending to find their next clue box waiting inside the Manitoba Legislative Building, somewhere under the famous statue of Golden Boy.

Here, teams arrived late at night and were forced to bide their time until the building opened the next morning. Following this, all of the teams had to head to the Royal Canadian Mint to complete a task involving matching international coins to their flags.
7. Which team completed the Fast Forward task found in Leg 6?

Answer: Alain and Audrey

After their task at the Royal Canadian Mint, the teams were told to head to Canada's windiest intersection: Portage and Main in Winnipeg. Upon their arrival, the teams located a Fast Forward clue. For this rare occurrence, participating teams needed to go to the statue known as The Cube found in Winnipeg and, from there, receive a list filled with blanks.

Then, searching the downtown area, they needed to complete their list by finding the necessary words on downtown Winnipeg's ghost signs. Once they found all seven they would head directly to the Pit Stop. Audrey and Alain won this clue.
8. The Detour found in Leg 6 had teams choose between 'Puck It' and 'Pinch It'. In 'Pinch It' they had to make which of the following?

Answer: Pierogies

Arriving at Portage and Main, teams found a Detour clue (had they decided not to complete the Fast Forward). In 'Puck It', teams headed to the MTS Centre and donned hockey gear. Then, on the home ice of the Winnipeg Jets, they had to perform a puck drill and fire into one of five slots on a hockey net. Once they got all five goals they could continue on. Natalie and Meaghan, Sukhi and Jinder, Pierre and Michel, and Mickey and Pete completed this task (though, surprisingly, the Olympic hockey players had a lot of trouble).

In 'Pinch It', Rex and Bob and Ryan and Rob headed to the St. Ivan Suchavsky Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral to make seventy-four proper pierogies.
9. How many racers completed the musical Road Block at Whiskey Dix in Leg 6?

Answer: Five

Heading into Winnipeg's Exchange District, the six participating teams headed to the Whiskey Dix bar to find their Road Block task requiring that one member of each team deal with 'performance issues'. Upon their arrival, Natalie, Mickey, Michel, Jinder, Rex, and Ryan needed to don rock glam outfits and memorize a rock song to be performed in front of the crowd.

When they successfully performed the song, hitting all the words, they would be able to receive their next clue. Pierre and Michel, worried about the English lyrics to the song, opted to use the Express Pass to skip the task.
10. Which team was eliminated from the race after their sixth leg of the race in Central Canada?

Answer: Rex and Bob

After the Road Block, teams needed to make their way to the sixth Pit Stop of the race, the yet-to-be-finished Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg. Here, after racing to the Pit Stop mat at the top, Pierre and Michel were the first team to arrive, winning a trip for two to Mexico courtesy of Air Canada and a $3,000 cash prize.

Their use of the Express Pass allowed them to jet ahead of Fast Forward winners Alain and Audrey who showed up in second place. Ultimately, it was Rex and Bob who arrived in last place; they were eliminated after falling behind during the Road Block.
