Asa Breeny (Charles P. Thompson) is the Mayberry Security Bank guard. He is usually found in a chair fast asleep in the bank lobby. He is also the night watchman at Weaver's Department Store. He carries an antique pistol that sometimes falls apart when he draws it from the holster.
2. Charles Foley

Mr. Foley was portrayed by Stanley Farrar and by Frank Ferguson. He is a mild mannered store owner who never gets riled up unless Barney gets him agitated. Aunt Bee is a regular customer at his store except for the time she bought a whole side of beef at a discount market.
When her freezer broke down, Mr. Foley offered to store her beef in his freezer even though Bee didn't buy the beef from him.
3. Jim Lindsey

Jim Lindsey (James Best) is a local boy who spent most of his time playing his guitar on the sidewalks of town which was annoying to some of the shopkeepers. Andy told Jim that he should do something with his guitar playing and make something of himself. Andy was able to finagle a band leader into listening to Jim with hopes that he could help Jim land a job with the band.
4. Harlan Fergus

Harlan Fargus (Warren Parker) is Mayberry's local bank manager and member of the town council. In his spare time, he also acts as a judge at local fairs judging food competitions. In his first appearance, he tries to have a local citizen evicted from his home due to back taxes.
But when the citizen produces an old bond issued by the Town of Mayberry, it turns out that Mayberry owes him $349,119.27.
5. Warren Ferguson

Warren Ferguson (Jack Burns) replaced Barney Fife as Deputy when Barney moved to Raleigh. He is the nephew of the town barber Floyd Lawson. Though he graduated from the police academy in Boston, he's messes things up in much the same way as Barney did. He has a habit of saying "huh?...huh?...huh?" in conversation which irritates Andy.
6. Walter Stoner

Walter 'Wally' Stoner is the owner of the town gas station. He's a great mechanic but he never works on Sundays. He can tell what's wrong with a car just by how a person describes the noise that it makes. He is also the brother of Mayor Roy Stoner.
7. Eleanora Poultice

Eleanora Poultice (Reta Shaw) is Barney's voice teacher. Though Barney couldn't carry a tune if his life depended on it, Elenora always believed in him. Rita Shaw also played escaped female convict Big Maude in the episode "Convicts-at-Large".
8. Peggy McMillan

Peggy McMillan is the county nurse and is one of Andy's girlfriends in early episodes of the show. She is played by Joanna Cook Moore who is the mother of Tatum O'Neal.
9. Floyd Lawson

Floyd Lawson (Howard McNear) is the owner of the town barber shop. During his stint as Floyd Lawson, McNear suffered a stroke that partially paralyzed the left side of his body and had to leave the show for over a year. When he returned to the show, they always filmed him sitting down because of his disability.
10. Goober Pyle

Goober Pyle (George Lindsey) is the cousin of Gomer Pyle and took over Gomer's position as gas station attendant at Wally's when Gomer left to join the Marines. Goober is a good mechanic but is a bit dim witted and quite gullible.
