Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Donkey Kong 64", to unlock the gate that leads the first Boss Key, the player must complete the original "Donkey Kong" arcade game and what other classic arcade title?

Answer: "Jetpac"

By completing "Donkey Kong", the player will earn a Nintendo Coin, while the player obtains a Rareware Coin by completing "Jetpac". The latter is fitting as "Jetpac" was developed in 1983 by Ultimate Play the Game, today known as Rareware - also the creator of "Donkey Kong 64", along with the entire "Donkey Kong Country" series.

The player will also be able to play "Jetpac" later for free at Cranky Kong's lab.
2. A "Dance Dance Revolution" title was released for Nintendo 64.

Answer: True

"Dance Dance Revolution Disney Dancing Museum" was released exclusively in Japan and was sold in a bundle along with Disney-themed controllers.
3. How many words can the voice recognition unit detect when communicating with Pokemon in "Hey You, Pikachu!"?

Answer: 256

In the context of the plot, the device used to communicate to Pikachu is called the PokeHelper. This title is one of just two to make use of the VRU.
4. Which of these is not a playable character in "Jet Force Gemini"?

Answer: Mizar

As Juno and Vela's planet is being destroyed by Mizar, they escape with their dog Lupus. It is later revealed that Mizar, initially thought to be the main antagonist, is merely a robot pawn of Barry, the jealous brother of the planet's rightful king.
5. Which "Mario Party" title introduces the "duel" feature to the series?

Answer: "Mario Party 2"

Players may duel with one another if they land on the same board space in the final five turns of the game or by using the Duelling Glove item. A Goomba appears upon initiating the duel, announcing the rules and stakes. Each board has a minigame specific to it for duelling.
6. In the "Pokemon Stadium" minigame "Snore War", what Pokemon does the player control?

Answer: Drowzee

While the 1,000-pound Snorlax is known universally as the "Sleeping Pokemon", this minigame features a Drowzee using hypnosis to put other Drowzee to sleep. While it is stated that Slakoth "sleeps for more than 20 hours a day", it was not introduced until Generation III.
7. One Nintendo EAD originally was proclaimed in development as a game intended to be "An F-Zero in water" - especially a boat racing game with the vehicle transformation element incorporated into it. Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto opted to go with jet skis rather than boats as his vehicle of choice. What is the name of this title?

Answer: Wave Race 64

The title was hugely successful, selling over 1,000,000 units in North America in 1997. Regarded as arguably the best racing game for the console, it was praised for its emphasis on stunts and the rewards that performing them in certain sequences offers, such as the being able to ride a dolphin.
8. What is the hidden message spelled out by the coin circles in "Yoshi's Story"?

Answer: YOU ARE YOSHI'S GREAT PARTNER

This message needed unscrambled and took the community years to discover. There are four Black Yoshi eggs and two White Yoshi eggs scattered throughout the title. The only advantage they have over the standard Yoshi is the ability to consume spicy fruit without taking damage.
9. In "Iggy's Reckin' Balls", what cheat gives the player access to all characters?

Answer: HAPPYHEADS

THEUNIVERSE unlocks all tracks, OHMY displays gross particle FX, and TOOMUCHFUN alters the physics, causing the characters to be more bouncy.
