Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I am a hot spot that some might describe as a combination of a club and a traditional bar. I always have a line outside my door on Saturday night, especially on football weekends. You might call me a sweet man. What bar am I?

Answer: Gingerbread Man

If you once called Happy Valley your home or if you just visited once or twice you should know that the Gingerbread Man, better known as the G-Man, was the place I was referring to. All the other places are fictitious.
2. I have a relaxing atmosphere where everyone must experience my "Sin." Where would Eve go to taste the "Forbidden Fruit?"

Answer: Adam's Apple

Everyone knows that the "Original Sin" and the "Forbidden Fruit" are drinks served at the Adam's Apple. Eden Rock is located on South Street in Philly.
3. I used to be called "Tattoo", but now I am named after a tool. You could dance the night away listening to great music here. What bar am I?

Answer: Crowbar

Crowbar has three floors and is a great place to rock the house. As far as I am aware, the other places don't exist. During my first years at PSU this bar was called "Tattoo" and rarely visited. That's probably why they changed it.
4. Top of the mornin to ya! Would you kindly pass the jug of Dew to the Bell Ringer please? Everyone who visits me has a great time. There is nothing second or third rate about me. What bar am I?

Answer: The Phyrst

The Lion's Den is definitely a great bar but not the one I was referring to. Saturday nights with the Phyrst Phamily was always a lot of fun.
5. Tickets will get you all kinds of drinks on Thursday nights, but I wouldn't visit me if you don't like to dance and have a good time. Where would you go to get jiggy with it on my dance floor?

Answer: Player's

Ticket Night at Player's was always my favorite place to be on Thursday night. Sharkies is a Pool Hall/Bar and doesn't have dancing. The other two places are made up.
6. John Henry used to reside here until I took "his" place. I was located near Gateway and orange was my favorite color. I served great wings, until something supposedly Irish took my place. What bar am I?

Answer: Hooters

Back in the 1990s, "John Henry's" was located on the end of College Avenue right next to Pennsylvania Pizza. The last time I visited PSU, John Henry had moved out and Hooters had moved in, although they were later succeeded by Kildare's "Irish" Pub.
7. You can play pool or darts here and I have one of the best outdoor patios in State College. Don't worry if it rains or it's cold, I can cover or heat my patio. What hot spot am I?

Answer: The Lion's Den

All of these are bars at PSU, but the Lion's Den is the only one with a patio.
8. If you love great bands and don't mind the smoke you will love my basement like atmosphere. I'm located on the corner of Hiester and College Avenue. What bar am I?

Answer: The Saloon

The Corner Room is on a corner, but not the corner I am referring to.
9. Alumni love to visit me. Glowing signs decorate my windows and I hold the record for the most cases consumed in one day. What famous bar am I?

Answer: The Rathskeller

This popular bar is better known as the Skeller.
10. People see me as more of a restaurant than a bar. I do serve great drinks, but I am famous for the "Killer Cookie For Two." What establishment am I?

Answer: The Deli

The Deli is located at 113 Heister St.
11. My entrance is in a dark alley and some refer to me as "Shady", but many people strut their stuff on my dance floor. What "Shandy" place am I referring to?

Answer: The Gaff

My full name is the Shandygaff, but people call me the Gaff.
12. If you want to have a few drinks and shoot some pool I am the place to be. Wouldn't you just love to wrap your "JAWS" around me? What bar am I?

Answer: Sharkies

I used to love playing pool on their outdoor pool table when the weather was nice.
13. My customers love to watch all the minors walk by wishing they could join in the fun. You better get here early if you want to find a seat on my patio.

Answer: Cafe 210 West

The cafe is located at 210 W. College Avenue and a "MUST SEE" on warm nights.
14. I have many fans and I am especially popular with the Greeks. I am a bit classier than most bars, but I promise you will have a good time if you visit me. My name is my address, and you can sit and have a drink at my piano. What hot spot am I?

Answer: The Allen Street Grille

I am sure the Allen Street Grille has many fans, but I was referring to the many fans that move in slow motion on my ceiling. The Grille is not big enough to hold a "Big Fat Greek Wedding" but I can sure hold the many fraternity brothers and sorority sisters of PSU.
15. Located in an alley, my rustic and traditional atmosphere offers pitcher wars on Tuesdays. I am located at 233 East Beaver Avenue. What bar am I?
