1. Before Ayr United were formed, the town had a team called Ayr Thistle in the 1870s. They played their games on this open space in which town?

Answer: Low Green

The Low Green was the town's first football venue. Ayr Thistle were formed in 1872 by a group of youngsters and the Low Green, down by the esplanade, was an out-sized pitch which ran east/west, so it had a seaward goal.

Answer: Ayr FC and Ayr Parkhouse

Ayr FC who had been based at Beresford Park, moved north of the river, and Parkhouse moved into Beresford Park.

Answer: Somerset Park

The ground took it's name from a nearby street called Somerset Place, which was layer a part of Somerset Road.
