Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. With regards to the woman that Lois found in the lemon grove, did the newborn she was carrying belong to her?

Answer: No

Having found a woman walking through a local lemon grove carrying a newborn out in the hot sun, Lois brings the pair to the hospital, setting them up for emergency treatment with little time wasted. The doctors responsible for keeping her apprized of info is blunt with her-- there are no signs of dilation. This woman is not the mother of the child she was carrying. It's not surprising, Lois says, as the woman is quite old. The problem is that the blood found in the woman's vehicle isn't hers either.

Lois finds the woman, Maisie, in her room and decides to speak to her to glean more information. It only leads to more questions.
2. Maisie, actually born Moira, was a part of a past case that Lois worked that involved which of the following?

Answer: Human trafficking

Lois tries to lead Maisie to answer questions about where she gave birth, knowing full well she couldn't have. Maisie responds that Sarah, in the Bible, gave birth at the age of ninety. She also tends to use the word 'glorious' a number of times in the conversation-- something that Lois takes notice of, even if Maisie won't indicate why.

Maisie insists that she only wants to go home with her baby, but Lois lets her know that she was just at a crime scene where women's babies were removed from their bodies. Once the doctors test the baby's blood, they'll know for sure where the match lies. Maisie admits it won't match, but that babies are sometimes used in glorious ceremonies to stop evil, and it's likely someone is trying to get Lois' attention...that or it's all some glorious dream she might be having.

Lois has security keep an eye on Maisie before speaking with Chief Hanover in the hall. Maisie, as she explains, is actually named Moira, and she was born in Greece sixty-seven years ago. When Lois put Glorious McKall away for human trafficking, Moira was involved. It all seems too big a connection to be coincidence.
3. Glorious McKall, as Lois discovers, is operating which of these out of her trailer?

Answer: A ministry

Lois drives back out into the desert, this time to find Franklin, the cop she'd met earlier that day, to ask after Glorious McKall, and as it turns out, she lives nearby at a trailer on Poinsettia Circle, a stone's throw from where they've reconvened. She's quiet, he says, but Lois says he just needs to come along to have her back. If it spirals, it'll spiral fast.

And as it turns out, when they arrive at the trailer acting as Glorious McKall's Ministry, the former criminal is expecting Lois. She invites them in to chat, knowing full well that if Lois has arrived, she's met Maisie and it's time to catch up on what's happened since their last encounter.
4. Glorious admits to sending Maisie to find Lois, mainly because Maisie has what relation to the killer?

Answer: She's a former congregant

Glorious is forthcoming about her situation. She was able to get out of prison because she was a willing informant for Interpol, providing details about the Turkish baby-traders, with witness protection in return. Lois is certain that Glorious is taunting her with the killings, but the former criminal is still working to harm her, but Glorious says that she wasn't responsible for the recent events. In fact, Glorious was responsible for helping Lois, allowing Maisie to get the baby in her hands before it could be sold to a family in Modesto. Maisie, she says, just got carried away when slaughtering chickens.

As they chat, Franklin finds that they're being surrounded by people inside and outside the trailer, and before the conversation can end, he opens fire, killing three people. Lois finds another automatic weapon in Glorious' purse as the woman explains that she's being toyed with by the real killer. The killer is a false prophet who believes that civilization is at an end; Glorious placed Maisie in Lois' way, with the baby, because Maisie was one of the killer's congregants.
5. Which of these does Nurse Redd deliver to Lois as an alleged peace offering?

Answer: A bottle of vodka

At home in the evening, Lois receives a call on her cell from an unknown number and puts it to her ear to hear the sound of classical music and heavy breathing. She warns the person on the other line that they should be terrified. She's closing in on them.

While cleaning up in the kitchen, Lois looks out the window just as a blinding flash of light flares. She draws her gun and runs out only to find that Nurse Redd is at the end of her driveway, there to hand over a bottle of vodka as a peace offering. She's there because they need to speak, and she asks to be let inside; what she has to say isn't for Lois' front porch.
6. Nurse Redd claims to have first met Marshall before he had his accident, but where?

Answer: In his seminar

Lois returns to the dining room with a pair of glasses to find Nurse Redd already seated, sifting through the case files on the table. The nurse commiserates; they both see a lot of awful things in their lines of work. But they're more connected than Lois knows, she claims. The truth is that before Marshall fell into his coma, Nurse Redd knew him.

Bored in her job and single, Nurse Redd saw an ad in the paper for Marshall's seminar on 'Terror Management in Existential Philosophy' and joined to see what she could learn from him. When she went, she was enamoured. She learned enough to feel that it it warranted attending a second semester. After this second go-around, she confided in Marshall that she felt the class was saving her. That's when he asked her to chat with him over drinks.
7. Lois accepts Nurse Redd's apology with regards to their ongoing arguments.

Answer: False

Nurse Redd notes that in the time that she got to know Marshall, she realized how much he grieved what happened to his family. He blamed himself for their destruction and, over drinks, he cried, and it was then that she realized her purpose was to help him and make him feel better. His overwhelming guilt is what led her to offer that they move to Britain together, but he refused to leave Lois and Merritt.

When Marshall was sent to the ER he was intubated within hours and never woke up. It was the only thing, Nurse Redd says, that was going well in her life, giving her reason to live.

Lois takes the nurse's hands in her own in a seemingly comforting gesture, but quickly takes her gun off the table instead, aiming it at her face and warning her that if she sees her in Marshall's room ever again, she'll put her on life support.
8. Maisie notes that the killer admires Lois and doesn't want her dead. Instead, he wants her to be which of these?

Answer: A martyr

Lois visits Maisie in the psych ward and attempts to speak to her with the info she received from Glorious in mind. Maisie admits that while she used to assist the killer, it was with Glorious' help that she could save the children.

Lois tries to pry into the truth, but Maisie isn't forthcoming about who 'he', the killer, really is, only referring to him as 'a Prophet of Dissembling', or a false prophet. The work he was doing was a sin. Lois tries to compel Maisie to tell as a redemptive act, but not even this is convincing, despite Maisie's inclination towards the religious aspect of the case.

Maisie indicates that the killer admires Lois, otherwise he never would have shown her the place in the desert that opened up and revealed fire and brimstone. If he wanted her dead, she would be. Instead, he has bigger plans for her to be a martyr.
9. Maisie's tip leads Lois and the police to which of these buildings?

Answer: A milk bottling plant

Lois and a SWAT team arrive at the J&F Milk Bottling facility with their sirens blaring and as they advance into the entrance, Lois tells them not to shoot to kill-- she wants the killer brought in alive. Passing through the halls and machine rooms they eventually find their way to a grotesque scene. Four women, fastened to platforms and secured around the neck like cattle, are found connected to milking devices. Alive, the terrified women are released, but Lois follows the tubes from the machines to the cribs nearby, finding that they're connected directly to hungry babies to provide them sustenance.

While the cops secure the scene, Lois follows the sound of classical music into an adjacent corridor.
10. Lois is attacked from behind while looking at a wall of photographs. Who's in these photos?

Answer: Herself

What Lois finds in a bright, white-tiled room at the far end of the milking facility is a wall of surveillance photos, and to her dismay, all of the photos are of her-- including one taken through her kitchen window the previous night. Nearby, a basin of thick, black liquid bubbles quietly.

Elsewhere, Merritt spends the evening watching a laptop screen with Ed Laclan. At the hospital, Nurse Redd lays down in Marshall's hospital bed and holds his hand. Sister Megan, meanwhile, opens her eyes in her own hospital room.

But in the milking facility, someone quietly sneaks up behind Lois and places a knife to her neck. She's able to grab the attacker's wrist and spin him around, drawing her gun and firing at their chest just quick enough to stave off her almost certain death. As she leans over the figure, bleeding out on the floor, she pulls off their mask.
