Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. On the Maginot, Morrow was awakened from cryosleep with seventeen days left in the trip due to an emergency onboard. Which of these resulted in a series of catastrophic events?

Answer: A fire onboard

Seventeen days before the Maginot's return to Earth, Morrow was awakened from cryosleep by Clem, his junior security officer, as the alarm sounded in the ship. There was a fire in the containment section and the still-awake members of the crew were able to put it out, but two creatures got loose in the emergency. Captain Dinsdale, he explained, was dead. Bronski, still in the medical bay, was still alive, but injured.

When Morrow met with the team in the medical bay, they explained everything, but a quick look was explanation enough. Both victims, laid out on tables, had facehuggers attached to their heads. Captain Dinsdale was the first one that Rahim, the medical officer, attempted to help, but in cutting off the creature's appendage, its acidic blood burned through the man's neck. Bronski, meanwhile, was still alive with hers attached, and protocol dictated that anyone injured or affected by an alien lifeform was to be placed in cryosleep for the remainder of the journey.

As for the threat assessment, Morrow asked what happened, but none of the passengers knew what caused the fire, and none of them know how the aliens hatched or escaped containment. As for the rest of the creatures, Morrow sent Clem and Chibuzo back to the lab to ensure the other creatures were still contained. They would prepare Bronski for cryosleep, the former captain for burial in space, and to determine how to proceed with the remainder of the trip on the bridge with Zaveri at the command.
2. Morrow's brief investigations into the goings-on on the Maginot led him to discover whose sexual relationship with Bronski?

Answer: Zaveri's

As Morrow continued to collect his bearings, the ship's engineer, Shmuel confided that the fire in the containment bay fried the Maginot's navigation systems and the engine relays. While they were once in a spaceship, he reasoned that they'd become a missile headed towards Earth. There would be a good amount of work to get things fixed in time for their return.

In the lab, Chibuzo told Clem that the room was secure because the computers indicated that all containment units were green instead of red. Easy as that.

In the bridge with Zaveri, Morrow tried to reason with the possibilities of either incompetence or sabotage resulting in the fire onboard; they would be the likeliest causes, especially with the ship's navigation and speed being compromised at the same time. Zaveri didn't want to allow Morrow to call a ship-wide emergency, however, as the panic would be bad for the crew; instead she would consult MOTHER. When Morrow revealed that he knew about Zaveri's likely relationship with Captain Dinsdale (though the truth was that she was sleeping with Bronski), however, he claimed that in the event that he, as head of security, felt the acting captain's motivations were compromised, he could step in to issue command. While she spoke to MOTHER, he would prepare to call the emergency. His sole objective, he reminded her, was to ensure the cargo returned to Earth intact.

Rahim, Teng, and Clem, in the meantime, brought Bronski to his pod to commence the seventeen day cryosleep. It was ironic, Rahim said, that man could fly into space and excel in all manner of scientific breakthrough, but still head home with parasites.
3. Whoever had destroyed the Maginot's navigation systems also destroyed which of these?

Answer: Communication logs

Morrow headed down into the containment bay to check in on the opened crates and, sure enough, two of the egg containers were open-- their contents hatched. In the floor he found a hole in the metal dropping down two floors, an indication of some sort of acid having burned through. Checking the security feeds, he located footage of the moment at which the fire ignited and, on the other videos, the moments at which both Captain Dinsdale and Bronski were attacked by the escaped Facehuggers. Scrolling back through the footage, he was able to determine that it was, in fact, a single saboteur who opened the crates.

In the cryo room, Zaveri watched over Bronski's pod unaware that Morrow was watching footage of her earlier tryst with the science officer. Removing a small canister of soil from her pocket, she sprinkled the dirt on the lid of his pod, promising that they were almost home. As she left the room, she didn't notice the creature's tail tightening around Bronski's neck.

In the containment bay, Shmuel and Malachite worked to try and repair the destroyed system as Morrow checked in, searching for blueprints to assess any passages through which a saboteur could gain hidden passage. Shmuel assured him that the ship could likely be fixed, but it would take days. Whoever damaged the Maginot knew what they were doing.

In the weapons room, after an offhanded comment, Morrow asked Clem if he was the saboteur. The junior officer reassured that he wasn't. Fortunately, Morrow trusted this, handing him a weapon. As another bit of poor news, Clem informed him that someone had deleted all of the ship's communication logs. While a recovery program was being run, it was still an issue.
4. At the end of his mission, Morrow's daughter was waiting for him back on Earth.

Answer: False

Zaveri went to speak to MOTHER alone, logging into the system to indicate that she had taken command of the Maginot. Additionally, two Ovomorphs had hatched, one crew member was infected, and another was dead. All of the other lifeforms remained intact. She noted that containment was confirmed and the situation was stable, requesting permission to destroy the cargo in the event that the threat to the crew were to increase, but she did not receive that permission. The survival of the cargo was the priority and she was required to acknowledge this or, else, relinquish her command. She acknowledged, though reluctantly.

In one of the crew quarters, Morrow looked through his belongings-- photos and messages from his young daughter-- recalling his last days with her on a quiet beach. It was the last time he would speak to her; he received a message in his eighth year on the Maginot that she died in a house fire. He wouldn't return to Earth for another fifty-three years.

In the medical bay, Rahim packed the captain away in a bodybag. His body would be jettisoned into space with no affect.

Morrow would awaken from a short sleep soon after, having been jostled awake by an explosion. In the bridge, Shmuel and Zaveri would confirm that their saboteur had blown a hole in the hull of the Maginot. Their fuel reserves were depleted to 8%. Within twenty-four hours, the spaceship would transform from an uncontrolled missile into an arrow. Zaveri came to the conclusion that they would need to awaken the rest of the crew from cryo-sleep, but that was the moment at which the alarms sounded again, this time for a cryo-breach. Checking the cryo room, sure enough, Bronski's capsule had been broken open by whatever was inside. The specimen around his neck implanted an embryo and the embryo hatched, getting loose on the ship. They couldn't awaken the team-- it would cause chaos-- but they needed a plan.
5. One of the leech aliens in the Maginot's lab, escaping on its own, deposited its eggs into which of these?

Answer: A water bottle

Collecting guns from the armory, Zaveri and Morrow realized that they wouldn't be able to shoot the newly-hatched creature due to the risk of burning through the Maginot's hull, and with this in mind, Morrow set their weapons to electric shots. They would be able to fire on the creature and ensure its arrival to Earth, subduing it long enough to avoid it remaining their problem.

In the lab, Chibuzo watched the creatures in their containment units while indulging in her lunch. As she fed a rat to the leech-like creatures in one of the capsules, she was watched by the Trypanohyncha Ocellus in its own canister. Cheekily, she told it to take a picture-- it would last longer.

In observing one of the leech aliens feeding on the rat, she didn't notice as the second specimen used its narrow claw to open the top of the capsule, letting itself out and climbing onto the table. After the T. Ocellus attempted to get her attention, tapping on the glass to alert her of the escaped alien, she took her focus away from her work, placing the multi-eyed creature into its spot on the nearby shelf. It was while her back was turned that the leech found its way into her open water bottle, depositing its eggs into her drink without her noticing, then attempting to hide in her sandwich.

Fortunately, Rahim arrived to find the creature out of its container, and the two of them were able to put it away again. On the way out, she grabbed her water bottle, but in her haste, she didn't notice that the T. Ocellus' canister was improperly loaded, allowing it to jostle its container loose, shattering it on the ground.
6. Who ended up ingesting the leech alien's young?

Answer: Malachite

In the crew quarters, the awake members of the crew gathered together for Zaveri's announcement. While they thought the cryo pod would contain the creature, it escaped and Bronski was killed. It would be a Xenomorph and it would be growing fast. Their plan would be to sweep the ship and recapture it.

As for the ship, they've had a major fuel breach. With a saboteur onboard, all non-duty-related movement would be suspended. In an effort to show how serious she was, Zaveri called out Malachite for eating during her speech, even docking his pay, but he proceeded eating his spicy dish despite her, unexpectedly taking a drink from Chibuzo's water bottle to relief his mouth.

Morrow had to remind the group that two people were dead and one person onboard was trying to destroy the ship. He would request duty rosters and activity logs within the hour and interviews shortly thereafter. No one besides himself, Zaveri, and Clem would be armed until he was confident they were in the clear, and if anyone gave him information leading to an arrest, the person who gave it to him would be rewarded handsomely.

In the security office, while waiting for the communication files to recover, Morrow reviewed his interrogations. His talk with Rahim didn't amount to much. Despite there being a blind spot in the med bay cameras wherein Rahim was missing for ten minutes, Rahim reassured that he had been on the level for a long time-- hasn't even stolen from the pharmacy. He, like everyone else, just wanted to get home.
7. Who of these was discovered to be the saboteur responsible for destroying the Maginot's systems?

Answer: Petrovich

In the containment bay, Shmuel kept himself busy working at the ship's inner machinery while Malachite prattled on about his docked pay-- all that over lo mein! Sitting down for a moment, Malachite realized that he wasn't feeling well and the situation deteriorated from there; he vomited up blood and collapsed with little warning.

Elsewhere in the ship, Zaveri requisitioned Chibuzo to help her track the Xenomorph only to return to the lab to find evidence of an escalating problem. Opening the door, the two of them discovered that 'The Eye' had gotten loose in their absence. At that moment, the alarms sounded. They sealed the room knowing they would have to deal with that problem later, but in the meantime, an emergency demanded their attention in the medical bay.

Morrow interrogated Teng next, partly because of his presence in the cryo room on the feeds; he'd been observing Sullivan in her pod despite being told to stop, and he'd be doing so while bypassing the keypads. Teng let him know what he'd been missing-- just because the computer indicated that a cryo pod was full didn't mean it actually was all the time. Someone else was awake.

Morrow headed back to the security room to pore over the cryo room's footage just in time for the communication logs to be recovered. Amongst these he found what he was looking for-- a call between the Maginot's chief engineer, Petrovich, and Boy Kavalier, who made a deal with the saboteur to preserve his mind in a hybrid in exchange for crashing the ship on Prodigy land.
8. Chibuzo and Rahim were killed during which of these instances?

Answer: While performing surgery

With the knowledge of Petrovich's sabotage, Morrow grabbed his gun and proceeded into the cryo room with the intent to locate the engineer's pod and get to the bottom of the mystery. Sure enough, he found the container empty. He didn't notice the creature watching him from another room, and he didn't get the chance to encounter it then due to a containment threat in the medical bay.

Arriving at the med bay he would find Zaveri and Shmuel watching Rahim and Chibuzo trying to attend to the apprentice who, they noted, was losing blood without any reason. A quick scan would reveal the truth-- a number of small dots visible on his digestive tract lining the arteries. There wouldn't be time to do a GI scan; they would have to start surgery immediately (which Zaveri ordered them to commence).

What they found inside was dire-- tick-like creatures derived from the leech aliens in the lab. While Zaveri hesitated to give any further orders outside, Rahim took it upon himself to attempt to remove the foreign pests from Malachite's body, inadvertently causing them to emit a toxic gas. Chibuzo and Rahim were suffocated by the fumes while Malachite was left on the slab, the creatures inside him crawling their way into the instruments and consoles along the medical bay walls.

While all of this occurred, Teng, waiting alone in the interrogation room, was attacked from above by the Xenomorph.
9. In an attempt to place itself into a capable host, the Trypanohyncha Ocellus embedded itself into whose eye socket?

Answer: Shmuel's

While the others watched on near the medical bay, Clem arrived to inform Morrow that something-- something big-- got Teng in the interrogation room. Morrow had to think fast then, suggesting that they all get to the bridge and seal themselves in; they would have enough fuel to get into geosynchronous orbit around Earth and they could call in a cleaning team. Shmuel and Zaveri would need to go to the engine room and shift all resources to the bridge; Morrow and Clem would have to wake up the remaining crew while hunting for Petrovich.

It isn't long before the two security officers found their saboteur in one of the ship's corridors, and with that they commenced a gunfight that, concerningly, left Morrow and Clem with no choice but to take refuge in the lab. Morrow dragged an injured Clem back into the room, but a good shot spelled the end for the junior security officer, freeing morrow up to get in behind Petrovich and stab him through the back. In the meantime, the Trypanohyncha Ocellus would manage its escape and the numerous, young leech aliens would find fresh blood in the corpse on the lab floor.

Zaveri, remaining in front of the medical bay while Shmuel departed for the engine room, would find herself ambushed by the now-more-mature Xenomorph and it would lead to a terrifying pursuit through the Maginot's narrow hallways al the way back to the bridge. Arriving there, she would grab a welding torch and use it to try to seal the doorway only to be surprised by Shmuel, already there alone. The catch was that he wasn't quite himself-- he'd already been found by the T. Ocellus, which had placed itself into his eye socket.

Outside the door, once the Xenomorph left to find an alternative way into the bridge, Morrow emerged from a hidden passage next to the floor and let himself in.
10. Morrow promises Yutani not only to reclaim her specimens, but do which of these things?

Answer: Kill Boy Kavalier

When Morrow lets himself into the Maginot's bridge he finds Zaveri knocked out on the floor and Shmuel, controlled by the Trypanohyncha Ocellus, watching against the wall. As the Xenomorph flanked from the door he came in, Morrow used his electric charge to push Shmuel back and escape out a different way, leaving Zaveri to come to consciousness alone and for her to bear witness to a fight between the two creatures. While the eye alien, in control of Shmuel, leaped onto the Xenomorph's back, the fearsome alien used its tail to make short work of the T. Ocellus' human host, causing it to leap free and latch itself to the Xenomorph in an act of self-preservation.

It was all the time Zaveri could afford. She proceeded down the corridor Morrow took to find him already seated at MOTHER's controls, and when she banged on the door attempting to get inside, he welded the room shut, leaving her to face the Xenomorph, and die, alone. Morrow would manage to place himself into the impact room and avoid his near-certain end as the sole surviving crew member of the Maginot.

At long last, Morrow meets with Yutani in her offices to confirm that there were no other survivors. The cargo survived. She compliments Morrow on behalf of her grandmother, who took a liking to him when she took him in, and he responds by saying he will reclaim her specimens and kill Boy Kavalier in retribution as needed. Whatever Morrow wants, Yutani tells her men, he gets.
