Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. There are several bodies in the Maginot's medical bay. One of them appears to have suffocated, but by which means?

Answer: Due to an unknown toxin

Joe and the remaining members of his search and rescue squad, Siberian and Rashidi, proceed through the corridors of the USCSS Maginot having survived the most recent collapse, but with this being said, something is ominous about the situation, and the moving figures in the halls behind them seem to go mostly unnoticed. The trio find their way into the medical bay to find several corpses, each killed in different, but no less graphic ways. One body, on a slab, appears to have had their chest opened as though surgery was being performed during the crash. Another, on the floor by the wall, seems to have suffocated due to an unknown toxin. Another hangs from the ceiling.

One of the video feeds on the wall shows the culprit for at least one of them-- a foreign body lined his gastrointestinal tract at one point. The incident code of 1562 is the only clue, especially since that foreign body is gone. Siberian reminds them that they're search and rescue, not forensics.

Joe and the others descend into another level of the Maginot and call out to any potential survivors but it seems that the structural integrity gets worse and worse the deeper they go, removing any likelihood of rescue. Joe informs the others that the situation is bad-- an incident code of 1562 indicates 'alien'. None of them notice that a Xenomorph has blended into the surroundings nearby and pulled itself free of its vantage point. As the three of them arrive at the stairwell of one of the New Siam towers, they keep heading downward.
2. Boy Kavalier explains that his goal is which of the following?

Answer: To debate with someone smarter than himself

At Neverland, Dame Sylvia reviews videos of the children of the facility, at least until Boy Kavalier comes up behind her to chat about their work. While she feels that their work is about 'becoming' and the growth that these new, synthetic beings eventually turn into, Boy thinks she's being naive; they're creating innovative, technological achievements. The fear about artificial intelligence is that down the line, it will build a better machine that wipes out the need for humanity. What they're doing is giving humanity a chance to explode in progress, closing the gap before the inevitable. It's an intelligence race.

Dame Sylvia worries that if their creations don't have intelligence, then nobody wins. In the meantime, they achieved the impossible and ended death. Now they have to make quality of life better.

What Boy really wants is to talk to someone smarter than himself. He wants to climb to the top of the wisdom mountain, and while the children may not be the final fix for that, giving Wendy a supercomputer for a brain might get him closer to that answer.
3. Joe is pursued by the Xenomorph as he heads through the south tower, and he's only able to escape by taking refuge in which of these?

Answer: An elevator

Headed for New Siam, Wendy confides in Slightly that she's worried about her brother since he's not like them, and she might be the only one that can prevent him from dying. It's enough for Slightly to reveal his own trauma-- his father died of a cold in Mumbai and he was burned on the spire in a holy ceremony. Sometimes, Slightly says, he wonders if his father never actually died there, but was burned anyways. Soon, Kirsh has the children suit up and prepare for landing.

In the tower staircase, Joe and the others descend several levels until they can go no further without jumping. Rashidi and Siberian take a leap and make it to the other side, but before Joe can follow, the Xenomorph descends from the ceiling, giving chase and forcing Joe to miss the landing. He falls to the ground floor without sustaining injury and keeps running, giving way down the corridor and making it into the elevator at the end of the hall, narrowly escaping. He gets onto the walkie-talkie and calls for backup, but he appears to have no signal. As the elevator ascends, he attempts to tend to his wounds.
4. How long remains in Joe's service agreement with Prodigy?

Answer: Seven months

A day before the crash of the Maginot, Joe ironically attempted to follow up on the status of his resignation forms. According to his records, he had seven months remaining on his contract with Prodigy, but his attempt to quit was due to a promise he made to his deceased father to return to medical school.

In the meantime, the scientists watched as Wendy surveilled her brother and his efforts. While Joe offhandedly quoted "Ice Age" at the robot he's speaking to, Wendy found that she was able to use her capabilities to affect the computer on the other end, managing to respond with a quote in turn. Boy and the others also saw this, determining that she rewrote the code somehow. His request still managed to be denied, unfortunately.
5. Boy Kavalier receives a phone call from Yutani, who asks for which of these?

Answer: Clearance to send her team to the crash site

As Wendy and the Lost Boys land in New Siam, they come up on the site of the rescue effort and Wendy senses an odd frequency-- almost a buzzing-- that the Lost Boys don't. From Neverland, Boy watches intently.

As the group is briefed, they're told the buildings have one hundred storeys, twenty of which are underground, and comms are still down while the damage is assessed. Wendy uses her abilities to flip through the cameras in the building, managing to locate Joe on the feed in the south tower elevator. Determining that he's on the sixty-fifth floor, she heads out. Kirsh tells Slightly to follow her while the others stay with him.

In the meantime, in Neverland, Boy watches the data pour in until he's interrupted by Yutani, of Weyland-Yutani, who's called in regarding the incident. Yutani kindly promises that he will have monetary reparations for the destroyed buildings and lives lost, but she asks that she be able to send a team to collect the proprietary contents of the Maginot, securing the ship and removing what's rightfully hers. Boy doesn't give that permission; he suggests her lawyers speak to his. Truth is that he wants what's on the ship.
6. In the Maginot's lab, Curly, Nibs, and Smee locate an extraterrestrial being with a single eyeball that, as it appears, has been surviving in the body of which of these?

Answer: A cat

Kirsh's group finds a break in the Maginot's hull and proceeds inside while Wendy and Slightly make their own way into the south building to locate the elevator, ending up in the stairwell where Joe was separated from his colleagues. The odd frequency persists, letting Wendy know that, for sure, something is in the building with them.

Kirsh's group continues through the corridors until they locate an organic lifeform suspended, as though a plant pod, from the ceiling. He gives all four of the synthetics the chance to weigh in on next steps, but insists they be careful; as a non-terrestrial species, they don't know what it's capable of. Kirsh instead tells Curly to take Smee and Nibs to search the area and find something in which they can capture the organism.

The search brings them to the nearby lab, where they locate the bodies of the two search and rescue soldiers from Joe's group, still cuffed to poles by Morrow earlier in the day, still being fed upon by leech-like alien creatures. Smee shines his light on one of the aliens and it detaches from its food, crawling on the floor leaving a trail of blood along its path.

Deeper in the room, they find even more concerning beings. The ship's cat, having survived the crash and the preceding massacre, eats something off the ground in the dark of the lab. As they approach, it turns to look at them, revealing that it's been inhabited, at least temporarily, by a tentacled creature with a single eyeball. It releases from the corpse and launches itself at Nibs' face before the trio are able to trap it underneath a metal tub
7. Joe is pursued through the south tower and finds himself at an unexpected apartment party in need of evacuation. He ends up being the only person to survive the encounter there, but who saves him from near-certain death?

Answer: Morrow

Upstairs in the south tower, Joe uses his walkie to try to reach Rashidi and Siberian but turns the corner to run into Bergerfeld, one of the other members of his group who didn't enter the Maginot. Bergerfeld insists that they need to get out of the building since it could collapse at any moment, but there's still one more apartment to evacuate.

The last apartment proves to be the obstinate one; a lavish, themed dinner party is being held inside and the host is unwilling to believe that there's any reason to leave, claiming that Boy Kavalier will call him personally if there's truly danger.

There certainly is danger. As the door is slammed shut, the Xenomorph emerges from its hiding spot in the hall, killing Bergerfeld and tossing him (and Joe) through the apartment door, opening the way to a massacre inside. Joe, the only survivor, grabs Bergerfeld's gun and surveys the damage, intending to open fire on the alien...but he's saved at the last minute by a surprising and blinding electrical charge that incapacitates the creature. Morrow, who's found his way to the specimen, stands in the doorway. Joe thanks him, but receives a similar blast to the chest. With that, Morrow seals off the creature and drags it out of the room as Joe blacks out.
8. Who, of these, is able to connect with the Maginot's computer system through a direct wire?

Answer: Kirsh

Kirsh and Tootles, remaining in the corridor, remark that the organism hanging from the ceiling presents as flora, but may in fact be fauna as it continues to expel liquid. In the meantime, Smee yells from the nearby lab, beckoning Kirsh in to assess next steps. The synthetics inform him of the creature in the tub, but it gets worse-- Curly remarks that the room is like a zoo, but the animals must have gotten out.

Kirsh looks for answers by hooking himself up to the nearby console, stabilizing its power and reviewing the information therein. The Maginot was a deep-space research vessel sent to retrieve specimens. The catch is that specimens are generally meant to be dead. Curly heads to the corridor to retrieve Tootles just as the ceiling creature attempts to emerge and watch.

Meanwhile, Morrow heads for the elevator only to be intercepted by another rescue team who find his mysterious bag moving on the floor. While Morrow attempts to defuse the situation, he has no choice but to listen to them as they attempt to apprehend him. The Xenomorph, however, has other ideas; it breaks free and kills all of them, leaving Morrow to continue its slaughter when it hears other troops in the building.
9. Wendy is reunited with Joe, but she's able to keep the truth about their relationship hidden.

Answer: False

While Wendy and Slightly continue through the stairwell they eventually locate Joe's pack on the landing where he fled to the elevator. Looking down the corridor, they're confused by what they see: massive, bloody scratch marks along the walls, almost as though a bear crashed through.

The duo eventually reach the sixty-fifth floor in the aftermath of the Xenomorph's slaughter, and it's fortunate that they show up there when they do because Joe regains consciousness in the adjacent apartment, coming to as the synthetics pass by and find him. Wendy arrives to find Joe talking, out loud, to their dead father, and she asks him what he's doing without remembering that he wouldn't be able to recognize her.

Joe comes to determine that he's speaking to two synthetics just as Kirsh rings in to Wendy, asking her to head to the front section of the ship to secure valuable cargo, and he's already sent Smee to rendezvous. There's no time to wait; these are invasive species and extremely dangerous. Wendy asks Joe to join them and he agrees to follow, if only because they anticipate people to assist. None of them realize that they're being followed at a distance.

Along the way there's plenty of distraction, especially since Slightly reveals to Joe not only that they, as synthetics, have the minds of children, but that Wendy is actually his sister, Marcy, in a new body.
10. Which of these are found in the front cargo hold of the Maginot?

Answer: Eggs

The truth behind Wendy's identity is surprising revelation, and one that Joe seems to have trouble wrapping his mind around since Marcy was sent with Prodigy when she was younger, but it has to be true after she answers questions only she could possibly know the answers to.

Wendy, Joe, and Slightly arrive in the front cargo hold of the ship to find what Kirsh sent them to secure and there, in amongst numerous specimen container units, they find half a dozen alien eggs. As they near the eggs, they don't manage to notice the Xenomorph that followed them from the south tower before it emerges and grabs Joe, pulling him back through the wreckage of the ship and into the engine room. Marcy tells Slightly to remain there in the cargo hold to 'guard the omelette' while she runs off in pursuit of her brother.
