Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Wendy describes the sound she's been hearing as which of these?

Answer: Bugs rubbing their legs together

Wendy is brought in for observation having collapsed in the lab due to high frequency noises being emitted from the creatures being kept there. With her auditory functions turned off, Kirsh asks after the reason, especially since she experienced similar hearing issues on the Maginot. Boy Kavalier and Curly stop by to check in and their visit starts by sending Kirsh back to the lab-- his priority is finding new species. He also asks Dame Sylvia to depart, even though she wishes to keep Wendy company. Boy argues that it's an IT assessment, not an operation.

Joe is also brought in to meet with Wendy, and while he hopes to watch over her, Boy's more interested in staking his claim to his sister. Now outfitted with a new lung, Boy jokes that he'd never believe what they did with his old one.

When the scientists finally bring Wendy's audio back online, she explains what she heard-- a sound like bugs rubbing their legs together. She followed it to the lab where she found Kirsh experimenting on the eggs, and whatever was inside-- the baby-- was screaming.
2. Wendy is capable of hearing an alien speak, doing so on multiple frequencies.

Answer: True

The scientists suggest that the best course of action is to figure out why Wendy is hearing these things to find a way to make it stop, but neither she nor Boy are interested in this. Boy believes she can hear an alien language; Wendy believes they picked her to try to communicate with her.

And with that, they start a test, tuning a frequency in her head to 20,000Hz, raising it gradually. As it turns out, the creature operates on multiple frequencies, and only she can make sense of this. Boy believes, as well, that she can transmit the frequency in a way that everyone can hear, just like she hacked the camera feeds to watch Joe from afar. She just needs to think about her voice as a speaker. And like magic, she appears able to do so.

Joe asks that the experiment end so that Wendy can rest, and while she asks to be able to speak for herself, it's a good opportunity to recover from the traumatic past days. Boy, watching everyone depart, asks his associate, Atom, what to make of it, and Atom says that "when a hostile alien species decides to speak, they needs to ask why." There is no consideration, in Boy's mind, towards returning the specimens to Yutani.

Joe, Boy says, can stay with Wendy, but only if he works.
3. Morrow tells Slightly that, as an act of restitution, which of these should be returned to him?

Answer: An egg

Wendy gives Joe a tour of her bedroom and he has her acknowledge the weirdness of her situation-- even looking at her bed, as a charing station, highlights her separation from humanity. Joe has to explain that he's not mad at her; he's mad at Prodigy because of what they did. There was no way to get back to her, especially with the war on the other side of the planet. What matters is that he's been reunited with her.

That night, over the PA, Boy continues to read "Peter Pan". Kirsh watches through the cameras in Slightly's eyes, checking the recording of his encounter with Morrow on the Maginot, pondering the riddle he left him: 'when is a machine not a machine?'

Out in the jungle, Slightly wanders through the woods alone, heading to the coast to speak, alone, to Morrow, through the chip implanted into his neck. Morrow reminds Slightly that he wants to be friends, but Slightly is worried about his lack of trustworthiness. Morrow asks something of Slightly-- he wants him to collect one of the monster eggs and bring it to him. Slightly, he says, shouldn't tell anyone about this; they need to trust each other and no one else. They share each others' real names, Kumi Morrow and Aarush Singh, and with that, Morrow gets to work.
4. In the lab, Kirsh has the Trypanohyncha Ocellus placed into which creature?

Answer: Sheep

Returning to his room in Neverland, Slightly is met by Kirsh who tells him of the three monkeys who see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil. It brings forth an important philosophical question as to whether or not Slightly would tattle if Kirsh did something wrong. Morrow, listening in, tells him to be careful. Nervously, Slightly asks if this is a test. He says he would stand up for his friends, and Kirsh seems satisfied with this.

Kirsh resumes his duties in the lab alongside Tootles and the two of them watch on (along with Boy and Atom) as their current test subject, a sheep, interacts with the Trypanohyncha Ocellus in a particularly graphic encounter. As the eye-like alien removes the sheep's eye from its socket, it implants itself into its face and latches into its nervous system. The creature, highly intelligent, watches Kirsh specifically, following his movements around the container. Boy, taking its attention with delight, attempts to establish himself as important to the extraterrestrial being while Atom reasons that, should it ever escape containment, they would have a real problem on their hands.
5. Nibs speaks to Dame Sylvia because she believes that which of these is true?

Answer: She's pregnant

Dame Sylvia and Arthur, making their way around the Neverland compound, remove themselves from the lab and out from the camera views to chat, and it's then that Arthur explains his concern for what their mission is. With the pair of them halfway through testing the hybrids and now immersed in analyzing the aliens, it seems like they've forgotten the point. He admits that the children are not ready; the data isn't there. Dame believes it's okay for Boy to take risk, but Arthur thinks they've overstepped. If they did this wrong, they've killed six children.

Worried, Arthur just says Dame needs to hear him-- not as a scientist, then as her husband. He wants them to stick to protocols. If everything goes south, they need to know what to do. She offers to chat over dinner; they'll figure it out together.

Dame and Arthur are interrupted in the jungle by Nibs who, coming upon them, announces her good news: she's pregnant. It's an impossibility, Arthur says, as she's a machine. This, of course, causes Nibs deep concern. It's enough for Dame to need to speak to her more thoroughly. Nibs is certain though-- she woke up this morning and knew for certain.
6. During her therapy session, Nibs attacks Dame Sylvia.

Answer: True

Dame Sylvia brings Nibs to her office for a session, and not a moment too soon since Nibs is certain her pregnancy isn't just a feeling; it's real. Dame has to explain that there's a biological process that must occur for one to become pregnant, but Nibs reminds her that God allows a baby to happen-- Jesus was born without this occurring.

Dame realizes that she and the others never took the time, during the childrens' transition into hybrids, to explain how their new bodies were different. Though Dame attempts to show a diagram of exactly where these changes have occurred, Nibs lashes out, refusing to look at it. Instead, she reasserts that she things she's having a girl, and she's naming it Clarissa.

Dame has to ask about what happened at the towers and the Maginot, but Nibs refuses to continue the discussion, instead leaping across the space between them in an intimidating show of force. Dame Sylvia nervously offers tea, taking the chance to hit an alarm button. When Nibs leaves the room with the guards, Dame tells the men that they have a level-three event.
7. Boy allows Joe to stay at Neverland, but only if Wendy helps him do which of these tasks?

Answer: Determine what the aliens are trying to tell them

Atom calls Joe into his office to discuss his future with Prodigy and the conversation starts with some misunderstandings. Firstly, Joe is informed that any information about his remaining squad members is now confidential, and secondly, so is any information about his sister, who he's reminded is now 'Wendy' and not Marcy. Atom says that Joe is valuable to the operations at Neverland if only because he can verify the success of their experiment, and this is a condition of his employment. When Joe suggests he may quit, Atom keys him into the reality of his situation. If this is the case, he would need to leave immediately, he would lose contact with his sister, and he would need to pay for his new lung.

Boy watches as Joe reunites with Rashidi and Siberian before he meets with Wendy in Dame Sylvia's office. He asks her a Peter Pan question-- when she fought the aliens were they light pirates or indians? He answers his own thought, saying that she fought the crocodile and now she can hear the clock.

Wendy says that Boy shouldn't have cut the aliens open, but he reasons that the creatures would do the same to them. She believes they should send the aliens back, but Boy wants to send Joe back instead (despite her eagerness to have him stay at Neverland). He makes a deal saying that if Wendy can help him determine what the aliens are trying to say, she'll let him stay.
8. Tootles asks Kirsh to refer to him by what new, grown-up name?

Answer: Isaac

In the lab, Kirsh and Tootles run a scan on their alien-controlled sheep before Tootles asks a question-- he wants to change his name. As a serious grown man and a scientist, he would like to be known as 'Isaac', as in Isaac Newton. Kirsh happily agrees to do so, much to the boy's delight.

Slightly, meanwhile, arrives at the lab to run into Tootles, now announcing his new name. Slightly, passing off his visit as being helpful, claims that Arthur sent him to collect an item from the lab, and though he can't really explain what it was, Tootles, or Isaac, doesn't think too much of it. Instead of following along, he pretends he forgot what he came to get and he splits off in the other direction, suggesting he needs to clear his head.

Kirsh, in the lab, decides to take a seat at his computer and listen in on Slightly as the boy heads back to his rock on the coast.
9. Morrow uses which of these to compel Slightly into doing his bidding?

Answer: His family

Slightly reaches out to Morrow on his own, connecting to the cyborg to explain that he has no way of getting an egg out of the lab. Morrow believes he'll do it though, especially since he's at his mother's house explaining that Aarush never died. And since Aarush's brothers will be home soon, the chat there is set to be quite the significant one. Slightly reiterates that he will help, but he doesn't know how.

Morrow has a way though-- Slightly needs to bring someone into the lab, and it can be anyone he wants. He needs to bring that person in close to the egg so that it hatches and the creature inside comes out. It will attach to that person's face and he'll need to hide them away for a day or two. The person he chooses will have a bad couple of days, but Morrow insists he'll make sure they're comfortable. Slightly has twenty-four hours.

Neither of them realize that Kirsh has listened to the entire conversation. The scientist leaves the feed to check on the eggs, caressing one of them in thought.
10. Which of these aliens breaks free from its containment in the lab while Wendy is present?

Answer: The lung-implanted Xenomorph

The hybrids spend time out on the grounds playing and chatting with Joe near the waterside and they ask him questions about the outside world. Curly is the one who asks about 'The Five', leading him to explain about the five corporations that allegedly fixed all the problems caused by the previous forms of government around the globe. The Five will come in to solve the problem caused specifically by the Maginot's crash, and they'll arbitrate over the true owners of the alien species.

Slightly arrives to ask why Joe is still amongst them, finding it unfair that Wendy's brother gets to stay when he'll never see his own brothers again. Joe agrees that their families should all be there. Smee recommends they ask that they see their families again; Slightly says they should demand it. None of them want to risk being forced out of Neverland though.

Wendy heads to the lab on Boy's request to determine if she can understand the aliens, and using her ability to converse with it, she attempts to compel the alien implanted into her brother's lung via its unique frequencies. Kirsh, at the same time, watches from the other room. Joe, meanwhile, heads back to his room to check on his surgery scar. He doesn't notice Slightly watching from outside the window.

Something happens in the lab though. While Wendy begins to sing to the experiment, something attempts to break through the organ's lining. She leans in to investigate just as an alien leaps forth, breaking through the glass and coming to a standing position on a nearby table, almost as though a snake-like version of the Xenomorph she fought on the Maginot. As it bites out defensively, she reaches for it, rubbing her hand gently against its head.
