Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In order to locate Eleven, Lt. Colonel Sullivan seeks out and interrogates who of these?

Answer: Dr. Sam Owens

In Ruth, Nevada, Mrs. Owens does the dishes before a low rumble shakes her pots and pans off their ceiling fixture. As a light shines through the kitchen window, she rushes to wake her husband, Sam, for the helicopter that's landed outside. Lt. Colonel Sullivan steps out.

The two men look at pictures of the recent murder in Hawkins, grisly photos of Chrissy Cunningham's remains. Sullivan suggests that it's as if her attacker was a ghost. In Dr. Owens' professional opinion, something is going on in Hawkins and military strength is not the answer to it. Sullivan reasons that science may also be at fault, especially since all of the events in the town seem to be a consequence of Dr. Brenner's pet project, specifically Eleven, as he trained her almost explicitly for her capability to execute remote assassinations. Sullivan believes that Eleven is out there somewhere, alive, and receiving help from the inside. He also believes Owens may be involved.

The military tears through his house looking for answers, but there's not much to be done. The soldiers take a box and depart. Sullivan insists that they look into everyone he's spoken to in the past year. If they're lucky, he'll lead them right to Eleven.
2. Murray makes the Byers which of these for dinner after he reveals to the kids that he's stopping by for an unexpected visit?

Answer: Risotto

In California at the Lenora Hills Rink-o-Rama, the paramedics attempt to get answers out of Angela who, after being attacked by El, has a crowd around her. Jonathan and Argyle arrive to pick the others up, but the events have El seated alone at one of the booths. Some of the other kids have their eyes on her. On the ride home, Argyle reasons that it could've been much worse (like an ice skate), and things'll turn out fine for the future prom queen.

When they get back to the Byers household they arrive to find that opera music has been cranked up inside. The reason is Murray, who greets the group and serves them a dinner of risotto. It's there that he and Joyce make up a loose cover story about why he showed up and why Joyce has to fly to Alaska-- she claims it's for a last-minute conference for Encyclopedia Brittanica salespeople. As a result, Jonathan will need to take charge while she's gone.

At the same time that El locks herself into her room, leaving dinner early, the power of the Upside Down feeds into Vecna,
3. Who, as it turns out, was the last person to see Fred alive?

Answer: Nancy Wheeler

Lucas wakes up at the Tigers' hideout and finds Jason and some of his teammates loading the car with weapons. It turns out that the guys are interested in hunting down Eddie Munson if not to have a chat, then to put an end to his bloodlust. Lucas, initially hesitant to join, ultimately opts into tagging along.

Eddie, meanwhile, is met once again by Dustin, Max, Steve, and Robin who deliver food and reason that if they were able to draw the conclusion that he was at the crime scene, then others will be looking for him as well. In the meantime, they can brainstorm a way to find Vecna and prove his innocence. Since they don't have El, and she doesn't even have her powers anymore, that might prove difficult.

The group is interrupted by sirens as a group of emergency vehicles rush by the property en route to find Fred's body, still out in the road from the previous night's encounter. The cops interrogate Nancy since she was the last one to see him, but she has no answers. She instead asks them about Victor Creel, but she's reassured he's still locked away in an asylum.
4. Where do the police apprehend Eleven?

Answer: At home

In California, Jonathan tries to convince the others to stop moping as they're wiling away their spring break in a bad mood. Mike brings El's breakfast to her room and encourages her to talk about something...anything. He's just confused as to why she lied to him. She's different, she remind him. She doesn't belong anywhere because everyone thinks she's a monster. He reminds her that he cares for him more than she thinks. El seems completely unwilling to hear him though; he can't even seem to say he loves her.

The day is interrupted quite severely when the police arrive with a warrant for Jane Hopper, and when she makes it apparent she's in the house, they handcuff her and bring her to their vehicle. Mike vows he'll get things fixed as Jonathan rushes to try and intercept Joyce before her trip.

Truth is, Joyce is already in the air with Murray, the two of them headed to Alaska. She wonders if she should've told the truth to the kids.

In the wild tundra of Russia, Hopper helps the other prisoners assemble new railroad tracks. Antonov, the guard arranging for his ransom, lets him know that his contacts are en route to Russia. Once the money arrives with the plane, Hopper will be able to ride back with it.
5. Vecna, in an attempt to get into Patrick's head, causes which of these to happen?

Answer: A nosebleed

Nancy connects with the others and they share what little they know about Vecna. She explains that there has to be a common tie between Chrissy and Fred as both of them were acting weird on the day they died. Serial killers, Nancy reasons, stalk their prey before they kill, so it stands to reason that they both saw something in their final hours that could lead them to the answers. Max, having seen Chrissy leaving the school guidance counsellor's office believes that maybe there are answers to be found there. As they head out, Nancy decides to pursue a shot-in-the-dark lead, so Robin tags along, leaving Steve stuck with Dustin and Max. Always the babysitter.

As the group departs the trailer park, none of them notice the lights flicker on in the Munson place. As a crack forms in the ceiling, Vecna, deep in the Upside Down, slumbers and searches through the minds of the people of Hawkins, finally arriving in that of Lucas' basketball teammate, Patrick. Patrick, riding with his teammates, feels a headache pierce through his mind and his nose starts to bleed.

Jason pulls up in front of Eddie's band practice and asks after the missing teen. It results in a violent fight in which his drummer spills the beans that Dustin was looking for him. Lucas can only watch on as his friend gets implicated.
6. Which of these does Hopper trade in an attempt to remove his shackles?

Answer: Food

El, questioned by the police, can't admit why she hit Angela. The cops ask if she wanted to kill her and she can't seem to give a definitive answer about this either. It leads the police to take her photo and fingerprints and shuffle her off to a juvenile correctional facility. Jonathan, Will, and Mike, inquiring as to how they can see El, are told that they can't unless they have her legal guardian present. Unfortunately, Joyce is still en route to Alaska. As El is driven off in the back of a police van, Mike can only watch.

Up in the skies, Joyce, uneasy, digs into her inflight meal. She and Murray still have a few hours to go.

In Russia, Hopper is treated to a dinner of soup and dry bread. Sitting with one of his fellow prisoners, he offers his piece of bread...and eventually the bowl of soup as well... for freedom. Later, on the railroad line, the other prisoner follows through on their trade, using his sledgehammer to pound away at Hopper's shackles.
7. Max steals which of these from her guidance counsellor's home?

Answer: Keys

Nancy and Robin head to the library to search for information about Victor Creel despite the fact that the murders he's associated with predate Eleven and the Upside Down by about thirty years. Nonetheless, as Nancy said, it was a shot-in-the-dark lead. They get the keys to the basement archives and head downstairs to start digging.

Max, meanwhile, visits her guidance counsellor at home while Steve and Dustin wait out in the car. The guys argue about whether or not Steve still has feelings for Nancy, but Steve suggests that they're just friends.

Inside, Max explains that with all of the murders happening, everything is getting worse. Her counsellor says that it comes down to the trauma she experienced eight months earlier, but Max appears to have hesitation towards confronting that quite yet. Instead, she asks about Chrissy, finding that to be a dead end-- confidentiality and all that. She asks to be excused to use the bathroom but instead finds her counsellor's office keys, stealing them and running out to the getaway vehicle.
8. Who's able to contact Dustin using the radio in his room?

Answer: Lucas

Jason and his gang arrive at Dustin's house to find that no one is home. Ready to head out, they return to the car to find that Lucas has sneaked away. It turns out that he's broken into Dustin's bedroom window and used the radio receiver to contact the others, getting the news that they've found Eddie, but that he's innocent. Jason and the others catch him in the act, but they don't think much of it. As Max tells him to meet them at the school, Lucas tells Jason he knows where Eddie is hiding.

El is driven out into the desert in the back of a police van, and before long, she watches as three vehicles gain on hers and intercept. Men and women in suits have the driver open the back and apprehend her. In the back of one of their vehicles, ready to reunite, is Dr. Owens.

At long last, Joyce and Murray land in snowy Alaska, grabbing their bag of cash and heading out into the cold.

In Russia, Hopper is returned to his cell where, finally, he can check the damages. While his legs are battered and bruised from the hammer, enough damage was done for him to remove the shackles from his ankles.
9. According to "The Weekly Watcher", Victor Creel believed that his family was being attacked by which of these?

Answer: A demon

Nancy and Robin are able to quickly pull up old articles about Victor Creel and his trial back in 1959, perusing old issues of local newspapers but coming up with the same basic info over and over. Creel seemed like a normal guy until his family was brutally murdered, left with missing eyes and broken limbs. Nancy, annoyed by Robin's personality and boredom, tells her to call Steve to pick her up, but this only leads to a discussion about their relationships. Robin needs to make sure that Nancy knows she and Steve are just friends.

The conversation leads the pair to articles in "The Weekly Watcher", a publication that specialized in sensational and weird stories. It's here that they find out that Creel reported being haunted by a demon that he claimed killed his family-- not him. Creel even went so far as to hire an exorcist, who failed, to save his family. It could be the truth. Nancy's shot-in-the-dark might be a bullseye.

The pair radio their findings in to Dustin and the others, but the other group is busy breaking into Hawkins High School. Max, using the stolen keys, breaks into the guidance counsellor's office and finds not only Chrissy's file, but Fred's.

Elsewhere, outside town, Lucas leads Jason and the boys out into the woods where they make a plan to trap Eddie in his hiding spot. It turns out he's taken them to the old Byers house, where he absolutely isn't hiding. Instead, Lucas leaves the others there and heads out.
10. Max, reading into Chrissy and Fred's counselling notes, discovers that she and they share which common link?

Answer: Trauma

At a quiet cafe, Dr. Owens sits Eleven down for a discussion. She's not in trouble for the roller skate incident. He's there because Hawkins is in danger. El has fought the evils of the Upside Down before and won, but every time she does, it comes back stronger. They can't win the war without her though. She's the only one, Dr. Owens says, that can hit it hard enough to defeat it. And amazingly, there's a way to bring her powers back. He's been working on a program to bring her powers back stronger than ever, but she needs to decide then and there. There's a chance that if it fails, she'll never see her friends again. El worries that she might be the monster in this situation, but Dr. Owens says that he believes she's a good guy. They depart before their meals arrive.

In Lenora Hills, the boys keep making calls in an effort to locate El, but Dr. Owens' agents locate them first, pulling up to guard the house, keeping them trapped there.

At her guidance counsellor's desk, Max pores over Chrissy and Fred's files to find that, like her, they suffered intense trauma over the past years leading to extreme headaches, nosebleeds, nightmares, and symptoms mirroring her own. Realizing the connection, Max hears her voice being called from the darkness. In a waking dream, Max recognizes the sound of a chiming grandfather clock embedded in the wall of the school hallway. As she nears it, Vecna calls her name once again.
