Answer: Bavaria, 1865

The Rani visits the seventh son of a seventh son in Bavaria. The man has seven sons, and the Rani kidnaps his new born son. She turns the farmer into an owl, his wife into flowers and his other children into ducks.

We first encountered the Rani during the Sixth Doctor adventure "The Mark of the Rani" (1985) and Seventh Doctor adventure "Time and the Rani" (1987). She was played by Kate O'Mara, who died in 2014. The new Rani is played by Archie Panjabi.

Answer: Conrad Clark

Conrad, who we met in "Lucky Day" (2025), returns as the narrator of an artificially constructed world. It is quite dystopian, with 1950s era values regarding gender roles and sexuality. It continues to paint Conrad as one of the most disturbing humans in the history of the show.

Conrad was played by Jonah Hauer-King. He is probably most famous as Prince Eric in the live action version of "The Little Mermaid" (2023). He had a major role on "World on Fire" (2019-2023) as Harry Chase.

Answer: Italian salami

The Rani gave Mrs. Flood some mortadella, a fatty sausage from northern Italy. Flood used it to make a sandwich for Conrad. She seems to be the only human Conrad has contact with on a regular basis, making him even more delusional.

The ham and cheese toastie is a running gag on "Joy to the World" the 2024 Christmas special.

Answer: John Smith

John Smith has a long history on "Doctor Who" dating back to the Second Doctor. The Third Doctor often used it when working with UNIT. And the Tenth Doctor used John Smith during "Human Nature/Family of Blood" (2007).

As this John Smith, the Doctor is married to Belinda and they have a young daughter.

Answer: Insurance

In "Wish World", UNIT has been transformed into a 1950s-era insurance agency. The players are still the same - Kate Stewart is still the boss and Christopher Ibrahim is a member of the staff.

Ibrahim still has a crush on Kate and the Doctor gives him dating advice. Things get weird when the Doctor calls Ibrahim "beautiful".

Answer: Desidirium

Desidirium is Latin for yearning, especially for things we cannot have. The baby is the latest addition to the Pantheon of Chaos, which includes the Celestial Toymaker, Maestro and Lux. Russell T Davies has added a lot of supernatural elements since "Wild Blue Yonder" (2023).

Ganesha is one of several Hindu deities associated with wishing. Tyche is a Greek god of wishing, and Ebisu is a Japanese god of wishing.

Answer: Shirley Bingham

In Conrad's dystopia, the physically disabled are marginalized. Shirley is living on the street when Ruby encounters her. Ruby meets with a group of disabled people who develop a plan to challenge Conrad. Unfortunately, the plan is dependent on a laptop they are unfamiliar with.

We first saw Shirley in "The Star Beast" (2023) where she was UNIT's new technical advisor. She also appeared in "The Giggle" (2023) and "Lucky Day" (2025). It has been well established that Shirley is very skilled with computers.

Ruth Madeley plays Shirley, and like the character she has spina bifida. Ruth has raised lots of money for spina bifida research.

Answer: Rogue

Rogue shows up on the television to deliver a warning to the Doctor. "Tables don't do that" is his cryptic message. The Doctor later tests his kitchen table by forcing mugs to dematerialize, something that would violate normal laws of physics.

The first time we saw Rogue, he was helping the Doctor and Ruby fight cos-playing aliens in Edwardian England. Rogue sacrificed himself to save the Doctor.

Jonathan Groff has been active on Broadway since 2005. He is probably best known for playing King George III in "Hamilton" (2015). Groff won a Tony Award for "Merrily We Roll Along" in 2024. For Disney+ fans, Groff is in the "Frozen" franchise.

Answer: Poppy

Poppy returns in a much larger role after a quick appearance in "The Story and the Engine" (2025). She is played by Sienna-Robyn Mavanga-Phipps.

In the episode, Belinda and the Doctor are married and Poppy is their child. At the end of "Wish World" the Doctor made a mysterious reference to Poppy being real. This may prove important to the events of "The Reality War" (2025).

Answer: Russell T Davies

Russell T Davies returned "Doctor Who" to British television in 2005 after a 16 year absence. He was the show runner from 2005 to 2010, and returned to the show in 2023. As usual, the show runner wrote the season finale.

Alex Sanjiv Pillai directed both "Wish World" and "The Reality War." His first "Doctor Who" episode was "Joy to the World", the 2024 Christmas special.

Susan Twist returns as the tea lady at UNIT. She is dressed exactly as she was in "The Devil's Chord" (2024). Considering that she is the human manifestation of Sutekh, this is not a good sign for what comes next. It could simply be an Easter Egg, though.

Atilla Akinci is the German actor who played Otto, the seventh son whose child is kidnapped. He has been acting mostly in television since 2017 and has also done lots of voice work in video games.
