Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the last name of the Doctor's new companion, Belinda?

Answer: Chandra

Belinda Chandra is abducted by killer robots because she has a star named after her, as well as several planets that orbit that star. She is named the Queen of MissBelindaChandraOne, where she faces a forced marriage to a giant computer.

Belinda is played by Varada Sethu. She was born in India, but grew up in Newcastle. Sethu is a graduate of the Identity School of Acting in London, whose alumni include John Boyega of "Star Wars" and Letitia Wright of "Black Panther".

Sethu's most notable appearances are in "Hard Sun" (2018), "Strike Back: Revolution" (2019) and "Andor" (2022). She appeared in the season one episode "Boom" (2024) as Mundy Flynn, and the Doctor reveals that Belinda is the ancestor of Mundy.
2. How long have the robot overlords been ruling the planet?

Answer: Ten years

The robots had a revolution ten years earlier and took control of the planet. The people of BelindaChandraOne live in fear of their killer robot rulers. When Belinda told the robots to find her boyfriend, they did so. It turned out to be a disastrous move for the humans, as her boyfriend turned out to be a crazy gamer who corrupted the robots, leading to the title revolution.
3. What is the name of the woman who greets Belinda?

Answer: Sasha

Sasha 55 was played by Evelyn Miller. She welcomes Belinda to her planet, informing her she is the queen. The Doctor, who had been on the planet for six months before Belinda's arrival, had grown close to Sasha and was quite affected by her death.

Evelyn Miller began acting in 2013 and has appeared on a variety of BBC shows over the last decade, Her credits include "Flowers in the Attic: The Origin" (2022), "The Lovers" (2023) and Naomi in "Gangs of London" (2025).
4. What is the robots' flaw in "The Robot Rebellion"?

Answer: Cannot hear every ninth word

The Doctor, who has achieved the rank of Historian, is able to deliver messages to Belinda and the rebels by using every ninth word. It is a flaw in the robots' programming.

The Doctor explains the flaw and uses it to lead the first rebellion. Alan later uses it to indicate that he is tired of his existence as the AI.
5. What is Alan's last name in "The Robot Rebellion?

Answer: Budd

Alan David Budd seems like a nice guy when we first meet him. He buys Belinda her own star and gives her a certificate. Unfortuntely, this romantic gesture leads to his abduction by robots and the robot revolution that enslaves the people of MissBelindaChandra One.

Alan was played by Jonny Green. He started acting with a role on "Doctors" in 2018. He is a podcaster and is familiar with the "Doctor Who" universe as the voice of Tyler Steele in "Torchwood: The Story Continues" (2017 to 2023).
6. What happened to the star certificates when they came in contact with each other?

Answer: The created a time explosion

When Belinda and the AI (Alan) touched certificates, it created an anti-time reaction and there was a large explosion. The Doctor was able to rescue Belinda from the explosion, which enabled him to see her entire timeline. Alan reverted to sperm and egg which the cleaning robot swept up.

The destruction of the AI (correction AL) computer enabled society to revert to its normal course, where robots and humans lived in peaceful cooperation.
7. What word did the small robot scouring the floors repeat?

Answer: polish

"Polish, Polish" is reminiscent of "Gadget, Gadget" from "The Waters of Mars" (2010). It is mostly a comic relief device, although it proves useful in the aftermath of the time explosion.
8. What day in 2025 does Belinda want to return to?

Answer: May 24

Belinda was abducted on May 24, 2025. Based on the last few seconds of "The Robot Revolution" it appears something quite catastrophic happened only a few hours after she left. The mystery of what happened May 24 seems to be the overarching theme of Season 2.
9. The Doctor was able to get his new companion back home safely.

Answer: False

The Doctor attempted to return to 2025 but the TARDIS gave him severe pushback. The very last images of "The Robot Revolution" showed an Earth that had been blown to pieces.

This is not the first time the Doctor had encountered difficulty with landings. "The Angels Take Manhattan" established that returning to New York in 1938 would be almost impossible.
10. Who wrote "The Robot Revolution"?

Answer: Russell T. Davies

As with most season openers, the show runner is also the writer. Russell T Davies revived "Doctor Who" in 2005, and ran the show for five seasons. He returned in 2023, with David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor. This is his second season with Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor.

Peter Hoar directed "The Robot Revolution". He first directed "A Good Man Goes to War" in 2011, with Matt Smith as the Doctor. He returns after fourteen years to direct "Robot Revolution" and "Lucky Day" (both 2025).

Nicholas Briggs, the voice of mechanical creatures on "Doctor Who" for many years, returns as the voice of the robots. Briggs has voiced Daleks, Cybermen, Ice Warriors and Zygons among others since the show's revival in 2005.

Murray Gold is once again back at the helm as composer for "Doctor Who". He wrote the music for the show from 2005 to 2017 and returned in 2023.
