Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This game had a tendency to be unforgiving to players. Assuming a match just started, nobody has any perks or anything extra, how many hits in rapid succession can a player survive without going down?

Answer: One

This was the very last game in the franchise to utilize a 100 point health bar, letting the player survive one 50 point swipe from a zombie, with the second one bringing them down. The player could survive endless amounts of hits if the hits come staggered, with enough time for them to regenerate health lost. But, two quick hits will do anyone in if they don't have any sort of protection.

The Juggernog perk provides this buffer, letting the player now survive four rapid hits, with the fifth being their undoing.
2. With the exception of the Origins map, what is the starting gun players get at the very beginning of the game?

Answer: Colt M1911

The MR6 and Bloodhound are in "Black Ops 3", while the Atlas 45 is the starting gun for "Advanced Warfare's" Exo Zombies mode.

The M1911 comes to players with an eight round magazine, and 32 total rounds. Getting a Max Ammo powerup, however, will give the player a capacity of 80 total rounds.

When Pack-a-Punched, this gun becomes the Mustang and Sally, a dual-wield M1911 where the guns both fire explosive rounds (be careful not to blow yourself up!) and reload much, much faster.
3. In "Black Ops 1", the Double Tap perk simply hastened the rate of fire on one's gun, and that's it. In this game, it is much, much more broadly useful. What added benefit does "Double Tap 2.0" now give?

Answer: Added damage output

This perk retains the higher fire rate of its predecessor, while effectively also 'doubling' the bullets themselves. In other words, firing one bullet of a gun when using Double Tap is treated as if two bullets are fired, which essentially exactly doubles the damage output of a gun.

This effect is consistent across all weapons, making this perk much more broadly useful than the 1.0 version. The 1.0 version was utterly useless on any weapon that was not fully automatic, since all it did was increase a weapon's fire rate.
4. This game debuts the Victis crew. Which map of the following are the four Victis crew members playable on?

Answer: Die Rise

Victis is playable on TranZit, Die Rise and Buried. Mob of the Dead has its own exclusive celebrity cast of characters, while Origins features the return of the iconic Primis crew.

Victis consists of Marlton Johnson, Abigail "Misty" Briarton, Samuel Stuhlinger and Russman.
5. Uniquely, within the Victis crew storyline comes some player decision-making. In order to complete this game's "Super Easter Egg" on the Buried map, players must very quickly and early on decide which of two characters they intend to support. What is the binary conflict here?

Answer: Richtofen vs Maxis

Throughout the entirety of the game starting from TranZit and ending with Buried, whoever is playing as Samuel Stuhlinger will occasionally hear voices of Richtofen, attempting to direct Stuhlinger to do his bidding. As well, when picking up a power up, Richtofen's demonic voice can be heard cheerfully crying out whatever the power up was for all players.

This quest is a doozy and requires pretty extreme attention to detail in order to see through to the end. On TranZit, the player and their team must decide if they want to help Richtofen, or if they want to help Dr Maxis defeat Richtofen. There is no turning back once the TranZit quest is done, so players must choose carefully. For example, if players decide to help Richtofen on TranZit, then Maxis on Die Rise, it resets their entire progress and will render the Super Easter Egg on Buried undoable. As well, four players are required for each map's Easter Egg, so this can be quite the time-consuming undertaking for everyone involved.

Generally speaking, helping Maxis defeat Richtofen is much harder than aiding the zombified Primis leader. However, in return for the player's efforts in helping Maxis... the eye colors of zombies will change for the remainder of the game! What a reward!
6. Treyarch certainly did their best to give players creativity in their perk layouts. Which perk of the following debuted in this game?

Answer: Who's Who?

Sadly, Who's Who? would go on to get absolutely shredded and memed on by the community for being the most useless perk that had ever been seen, and ever would be seen, in a Zombies game.

What this perk tries to do is offer the player an insurance policy for if they go down. If the player has this perk and they go down, instead of sitting there and hoping your team can revive you before you bleed out, Who's Who? spawns a 'drone' version of the player a random distance away. From here, the player can potentially revive themselves if they can make it to their own dying body in time.

There are two massive, unforgivable flaws with this perk. For one, the 'drone' spawns with no perks and just an M1911, making it almost entirely impossible for the player to actually revive themselves due to having basically no equipment to do so.

But the biggest flaw with this perk is due to the layout surrounding it. Die Rise is a very vertically inclined map, so it's possible for the player to spawn in a way where it is literally impossible to access their dying body. The spawn logic of this perk simply tries to put the drone in a place where there are no zombies, and does not account for actually making it possible to reach their dying body.

As such, this perk is sadly the single worst perk in Zombies history. Perhaps in all of "Call of Duty" history.
7. This game was the first time a Zombies mode dipped into the art of crafting. What is one function a craftable item in this game can perform?

Answer: Powering something up

The Portable Turbine can, as the name implies, provide power to a very small space. On TranZit, this item is absolutely essential to basic gameplay. It is the only way in which the player can access Pack-a-Punch, infamously annoyingly at that, and it can also open several power-locked doors and afford access to another utilities, such as Claymores and Grenades. If the player has not actually turned the power on, they can also set a Portable Turbine next to a perk machine and temporarily power it up that way.
8. This is the only game where it is theoretically possible to hit the absolute cap for points without, technically, killing so much as one zombie. Which mechanic of the following allows for this?

Answer: Piggy Bank

The Piggy Bank is exclusive to "Black Ops 2". As any bank would work, the player can store their excess points here, and withdraw them later. However, interpreting "later" is key here, as the player can store their points and then withdraw them in a completely separate game. Note that this only works on Victis crew maps, so Mob of the Dead and Origins, as well as Bus Depot, Town, Farm and Nuketown, do not feature a bank. But TranZit, Die Rise and Buried do!

It is possible therefore, to achieve the absolute cap for points (9,999,999), store all of them in the bank, start up a new game, then come withdraw all of your points. You would then have reached the cap for points without needing to kill a single zombie.
9. This game incidentally was the very first time a pistol was buyable off of the wall. Which pistol is available as a wall buy on at least one map in this game?

Answer: Five Seven

The Mauser C96 is the starting gun for Origins, not off of the wall. Likewise, the Python and Executioner can be acquired through the Mystery Box, not the wall. The Five Seven can be picked up either off the wall in Origins or the Mystery Box on any map in the entire game. It boasts huge 20 rounds clips with 140 total rounds. When Pack-a-Punched, it becomes the Calamity, with increased mags, ammunition capacity and damage output.

In addition to the Five Seven, the B23R is a wall buy on every map except for Origins. It seems Treyarch just wanted to freshen up the player's handgun options in this particular map.
10. In the realm of wall weapons, there is one map on this game that allows the player to have the power to choose which weapons appear on which wall, to an extent. What map can the player 'draw' wall weapons on?

Answer: Buried

In Buried, the player can find hollowed out chalk drawings of a litany of different weapons. By interacting with the hollowed drawing, the player adds it to their inventory. By approaching an icon marked "?", the player can interact with it to replace the question mark with the wall weapon drawing they were carrying, permanently placing that wall weapon at that location and earning some points in the process.

This mechanic opens the player up to getting creative on how they want to go about surviving the rounds. They can choose their favorite wall weapon, such as the AN-94, decide where they want it to be based, then make that location the space the player remains in for most of the game. For example, if the player wants to run a zombie horde near the saloon and wishes to make use of the PDW-57 to do so, they can place the wall buy for the PDW inside the saloon and make it easier to access mid-round if they need to buy ammunition for it.
