Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Right after character creation is finished, the player begins their journey very close to Iosefka's Clinic. Iosefka interacts with the player numerous times. Can the player get inside her clinic here?

Answer: No

Iosefka is friendly, but she will strictly refuse entry, citing a risk of exposing the player potentially infected by the scourge of beasts to her clientele. She will give the player a Iosefka's Blood Vial, and will later ask them to send anyone seeking refuge from the night to her clinic.
2. How many lamps, in total, are found within Central Yharnam?

Answer: Four

The 1st Floor Sickroom lamp is where the player begins their entire playthrough. From there, the Central Yharnam lamp isn't too far ahead, and is later followed up by the Great Bridge and Tomb of Oedon lamps.
3. The player can eventually meet Eileen the Crow standing overhead the Central Yharnam sewers. After some dialogue, Eileen gifts the player with an item. What item is it?

Answer: Bold Hunter's Mark

The Bold Hunter's Mark teleports the player back to their most recently visited lamp at zero cost. Its counterpart, the Hunter's Mark, is an item the player begins the game with and has the same function, while also being permanently usable. However, using it removes all Blood Echoes from the player's possession unlike the Bold Hunter's Mark, making it the same thing but better, albeit available at limited quantities.
4. Surprisingly, there is one Old Hunter who the player can summon for help. They will quickly come to realize, though, that he can only help for one of Central Yharnam's two boss fights. Who is summonable as an ally here?

Answer: Father Gascoigne

Gascoigne, as a friendly NPC summon or, Old Hunter, can aid the player as they make their way up to, and through, the Cleric Beast boss fight. Of course, since Gascoigne later appears as a boss himself, the player will not have his support for that fight.

If the player triggers the fight with Gascoigne, he will become permanently unavailable. So, if looking to use him to help kill Cleric Beast, the player must ensure not to start Gascoigne's boss fight even once.
5. The Tiny Music Box is a key item which the player can receive speaking to the Young Girl. This item is meant to be used during one of Central Yharnam's boss fights. Which boss does Tiny Music Box do something against?

Answer: Father Gascoigne

During Gascoigne's first phase, using the Tiny Music Box will greatly stagger him, then immediately send him to his second phase, earlier than usual. Once in second phase, up to three times, the Tiny Music Box can again stagger Gascoigne and leave him wide open to a follow up attack from the player.

The lore for this is that the Young Girl happens to be Gascoigne's daughter. As such, with Gascoigne struggling to retain his humanity, it stands to reason that an important toy belonging to his own daughter would illicit a reaction from him.
6. As it happens, should the player find themselves dissatisfied with their choice of starting weaponry, they can find a weapon on the ground in Central Yharnam. What weapon can be looted here?

Answer: Saw Spear

The Saw Spear is not too different from the Saw Cleaver, gaining some effective range and counter damage in exchange for losing some scaling and base damage. It can be found in the Central Yharnam Sewers off of a corpse.
7. If the player feels they errantly chose the incorrect starter weapon, they can essentially earn the ability to choose again by killing a Maneater Boar in the Central Yharnam Sewers. Behind this boar, what Badge can be found?

Answer: Saw Hunter's Badge

The Saw Hunter's Badge enables the player to go to the Messenger's Shop and purchase either the Threaded Cane, Saw Cleaver or Hunter's Axe, which were the three weapons offered to the player at the start of their playthrough for their starting weapon.

Essentially, if this was a "Pokemon" game, the equivalent would be being allowed to purchase Squirtle or Bulbasaur if you didn't like the fact that you chose Charmander earlier.
8. It isn't possible to notice this when first arriving at Central Yharnam, but this map has some impressive interconnectivity. Without doing any fast traveling, which of the following could the player quickly get to from Central Yharnam?

Answer: Forbidden Woods

Within the woods themselves, the player can enter a cave with a small mire inside of it. After going through it, the player can find an enormous ladder that, when climbed, will see them emerge into Central Yharnam itself! They will find themselves in the courtyard of Iosefka's Clinic, an otherwise inaccessible area.

It is through this way that the player is meant to get inside Iosefka's Clinic at all, which is where they'd need to get to in order to receive the Cainhurst Summons.
9. There are two bosses to Central Yharnam. Which one of them is optional, and could feasibly be skipped without it hindering the player's ability to later finish the game?

Answer: Cleric Beast

Father Gascoigne is in the Tomb of Oedeon, and he blocks access to Cathedral Ward. He is a mandatory boss, who must be defeated in order to progress the game.

The Cleric Beast actually is entirely optional. Don't tell diehard "Bloodborne" fans this however, as the mere thought of skipping such an iconic boss is inconceivable. However, for those speedrunning the game and not playing it for mere enjoyment, the Cleric Beast does not actually yield great loot or any sort of story progression.
10. After the boss fight inside of it is complete, the Tomb of Oedon still gives reason to come back later. Here, the player will do battle with an enemy Old Hunter. Who can the player fight here?

Answer: Old Hunter Henryk

Fighting alongside Eileen the Crow, the player will be confronted abruptly by Henryk after they kill Father Gascoigne, later unlock either two gates or lamps in the Cathedral Ward area, then return to the Tomb of Oedon. This is generally a pretty easy fight to win, but the player should not lean on Eileen for help too much, as it is possible for her to get killed and have her questline end prematurely.
