Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Cleric Beast is encountered within Central Yharnam, but where?

Answer: On the Great Bridge

The Great Bridge, in the lore, was at one point the main passageway intended to travel from Central Yharnam into the Grand Cathedral. It was mainly used for commerce, imports and exports. With the advent of the scourge of beasts, it was sealed off entirely, and stands in-game as a complete dead end where the Cleric Beast appears.
2. Cleric Beast is weak to two things. What is one of them?

Answer: Fire

Serrated and Fire make up both of the beast's weaknesses. The Saw Cleaver or Saw Spear can exploit the former, while the latter can be taken advantage of with Molotov Cocktails or a weapon buffed by Fire Paper.

The player is highly unlikely to have any means of Arcane damage on them, but if they do, it won't matter much since Cleric Beast resists Arcane to begin with. Same idea for Blunt and Blood damage types.
3. Two Old Hunter summons are available to help fight Cleric Beast. One of them is available immediately. Who is it?

Answer: Father Gascoigne

Gascoigne is available, immediately, with no special prerequisite to unlock his services. Old Hunter Alfred can be made available, but the player will have to speak to him at the Cathedral Ward, an area which is not immediately accessible to the player.

Of the two, Gascoigne is vastly superior. This makes sense... because Gascoigne is literally a boss in himself, so it stands to reason he's fairly tough. Alfred should not be dismissed entirely however, as he is quite sturdy and will be able to endure many hits from the Cleric Beast, serving as an excellent distraction for the player to get in hits with.
4. Can Cleric Beast be directly parried?

Answer: No

With enemy hunters or anything remotely humanoid, they can basically always be parried. Larger beast enemies like Cleric Beast tend to be inconsistent with this, though. Cleric Beast cannot be parried, but the very next beast boss to be fought, Blood-Starved Beast, is extremely susceptible to being parried.
5. Cleric Beast has two "weak spots". One of them is the head. Where is the other?

Answer: Legs

If enough damage is dealt to either Cleric Beast's head or legs, it will collapse briefly and be susceptible to a visceral attack. The player can't put it down for a visceral more than once in awhile, but even if the visceral has already been done recently, Cleric Beast still takes more damage to its head and legs than anywhere else.
6. Cleric Beast is capable of 'regenerating' its weak spots. Can Cleric Beast heal itself outright?

Answer: No

Though Cleric Beast will very much make sound effects which largely imply that it is healing, and though it is regenerating its crippled limbs, it does not actually heal any of the damage dealt to it. In fact, regenerating its limbs is entirely good for the player, as this makes Cleric Beast once again susceptible to being put down for a visceral attack.
7. After defeating Cleric Beast, its once-human origin is somewhat revealed. Cleric Beast was once a human who worked under a prominent name in the Healing Church. Who did the Cleric Beast, as a human, once work for?

Answer: Ludwig

Ludwig, along with Laurence and Gehrman, fronted the Healing Church that was responsible for almost the entirety of the destruction within Yharnam. The Cleric Beast, by virtue of its 'cleric' title and its proximity to the Healing Church, was one of the hunters who once worked under Ludwig. Like almost all of those in the Healing Church, Cleric Beast became the Cleric Beast due to the ongoing scourge of beasts.
8. On defeat, the Cleric Beast drops something to the player. What does it drop?

Answer: Sword Hunter Badge

The Sword Hunter Badge grants access to a great deal of items in the Messenger's Shop. Badges in "Bloodborne" are generally needed to access specific items in this way. Cleric Beast is an optional boss, in that its defeat is not necessary to reach the end of the game.

However, if the player wants the items from the Sword Hunter Badge, Cleric Beast's defeat becomes mandatory for achieving that purpose.
9. The badge received from Cleric Beast can be used to buy some interesting new trinkets. One of them is a weapon. Which weapon is it?

Answer: Kirkhammer

The Kirkhammer is a trick weapon, with the untransformed version being a small short sword and the transformed version being an enormous greathammer. Stat wise, it is solid and lacking in any particular shortcomings. Scaling wise, this was clearly intended for Strength builds, as the Skill and especially Arcane scalings are weak and irrelevant.
10. From the Cleric Beast's defeat, a Key Item may now be obtained: the Hunter Chief Emblem. Hailed as one of this game's biggest 'noob traps', how many Blood Echoes does the Hunter Chief Emblem cost?

Answer: Ten thousand

On paper, ten thousand Blood Echoes does not seem too, too bad. And admittedly, if you're an experienced player, it really isn't. But, for a brand new player, ten thousand Blood Echoes this early in the game is a lot. One could use these for some much needed level ups, Blood Vials, Quicksilver Bullets, or maybe they'd rather buy the fancy new Kirkhammer they just unlocked.

The reason the Hunter Chief Emblem is viewed as a "noob trap" is because it makes itself seem as though it's a necessary Key Item, when in actuality, purchasing it is completely optional, and not buying it does not lock the player out of anything at all, whatsoever. The Hunter Chief Emblem opens a shortcut from the Cathedral Ward to the Grand Cathedral. This shortcut is not necessary in order to actually reach the Grand Cathedral from the Cathedral Ward though, rendering the Hunter Chief Emblem a pretty ill-advised purchase most of the time.
