Akeron is a great fit for the Jungle role, with the sustain and tankiness to handle wave clear and Objectives while also boasting a kit capable of quickly ambushing enemies in lane.
Aurora is perhaps the single best non-Assassin at ambushing people, as her Glacial Charge both lets her enter a lane abruptly and potentially Root enemies in the process. Aurora's kit is great denying people from escaping a sudden ambush, while Aurora herself is passably tanky.
Bayle is a generic fighter swordsman type, so wave clearing and tackling Objectives take a single digit IQ for Bayle players to manage. Bayle's Skullcrusher Ability is a leap maneuver, making it great for ambushing lanes with.
Boris uniquely has a major self heal mechanic tied into his Tesseract Device passive. This singular trait about Boris is so notorious that it is one of the most prepared for things in this entire game; everyone keeps a Tainted option on their build specifically for if Boris or two other characters appear as enemy Junglers.
Countess is an assassin, so her capacity to ambush out of the Jungle is pretty straightforward. She has quite a lot of sustain in her kit, so despite being quite fragile, she can handle jungle minion waves without much issue.
Crunch is a straightforward fighter type character with a ton of mobility. Crunch's Forward Crunch functions as somewhat of a dash that also possesses helpful Crowd Control, making it great for ambushing lanes with.
Feng Mao is somewhat of a tie in between assassins and fighters, and can be plausibly built with items to fill either role depending on what's most appropriate for a particular match. What doesn't change is that Feng Mao has amazing tools to quickly ambush enemies in lane, an Ultimate with an Execute, and one of the most famous passives in the game: Executioner's Path. Executioner's Path rewards Feng Mao each time he lands a kill or assist on a new enemy, incentivizing him to go all around the map and hunt the entirety of the enemy team at various points.
Greystone is like Bayle, only much, much older, with roots dating all the way back to "Paragon." Ultimately, Greystone is a generic fighter with a similar jump to Bayle's, so he fits Jungle easily.
Grux is one of three Junglers with tons and tons of self heal, massively incentivizing everyone to keep a Tainted item ready for use in their builds. Grux has plenty of mobility, tons of crowd control and is quite physically tanky.
Kallari is the most generic assassin one could possibly imagine, so it's not surprising she was one of the first characters ever made back in "Paragon" days of old. She does very typical assassin things, aiming to sneak up on unsuspecting foes in lane with her stealth, then eliminate them before they even know what hit them.
Khaimera is the hands down most (in)famous Jungler in the entire game, period. He is the third of three Junglers with loaded self heal, only Khaimera takes the self heal into the stratosphere and absolutely demands Tainted out of anybody hoping to successfully square up with him. Khaimera is also the strongest Jungler in the game by very far when the game has just begun: for roughly the first 10-15 minutes, his power is at his peak due to his egregious self heal, and the fact that players simply won't have had the time to build Tainted just yet.
Kwang is a magical fighter type hero with a dash and a distanced Tether, a mechanic unique to himself. Kwang is well suited for clearing camps and ambushing lanes.
Rampage is the single tankiest Jungle in the entire game, and is in the top 5 for tankiest characters in the entire game, period. His Boulder Hurl can be used at a distance, with or without Pounce to jump into a lane, to ambush enemies.
Riktor is only a bit less tanky than Rampage, and also boasts ranged crowd control via his world famous Riplash. Riktor can therefore be viewed as somewhat of a different take on what Rampage is going for as a Jungler, sacrificing a little bit of tankiness in return for gaining a bit of utility.
Serath, somewhat like Feng Mao, is somewhat of a middle ground between a fighter and an assassin, and can be plausibly built either way very effectively. Serath differentiates herself by being less hellbent on roaming the entire map and more devoted to snowballing out of control during team fights. A Serath who can activate her Heresy Ultimate more than once is going to topple the enemy team over almost assuredly.
Sevarog is a very unique take on a Jungler. He is basically just as tanky as Riktor, but operates very differently. In a stark juxtaposition to Khaimera, Sevarog is extremely weak and nonthreatening for at least the first 15-20 minutes of the average matches. If the Sevarog player has properly utilized his Reaper of Souls passive however, from the 20 minute mark on, Sevarog becomes a "raid boss" and can confidently go one on one with literally anyone in the entire game, in any setting. Sevarog is a very high risk/high reward character for the Jungle.
Shinbi is somewhat akin to Countess as a magic scaling assassin, but Shinbi's kit is more geared towards sustained raw damage and maintaining sustained combat with a foe, whereas Countess is a fair bit burstier, maneuvers faster and heals for more. Shinbi is also like the magical version of Feng Mao, where she could be built like an assassin or more of a fighter depending on the needs of the team.
Terra is basically like a female Greystone, and is maybe the most generic tanky fighter one could imagine. The only significant differences are that Terra has some crowd control in her kit, and ambushes lanes with a "dash" rather than a leap.
Wukong has the single best mobility of any character in the entire game, so he can ambush lanes with the best of the best. He's similar to a Feng Mao or Serath in that he can go either assassin or fighter.
Yin has incredibly mobility and pretty great burst Physical damage, along with uniquely possessing anti-projectile in her kit. She is great at ambushing, does lots of damage and brings something completely unique to the Jungle table.
Yurei is a generic assassin, just like Kallari, fitting the Jungle role fittingly.
Zarus is a gladiator, so he profiles as a fairly generic fighter type. He is a pure fighter through and through, noticeably less tanky than Greystone or Bayle but much tankier than hybrid type characters like Feng Mao or Serath.
For other roles, there are very simple boxes to check to determine if a character is viable for it or not. For the Jungle, only one true "rule" exists: ranged heroes cannot properly play Jungle, and will never be recommended for this role, ever. The Hunt and Elite Hunt actually very explicitly work very poorly on ranged heroes, and the Hunt and Elite Hunt are extremely important for Junglers of all kinds to engage with. Melee characters dominate the Jungle, but there are other tangibles that non-Junglers tend to lack...
Argus, Dekker, Drongo, Grim.exe, Gadget, Gideon, Howitzer, Iggy & Scorch, Lt. Belica, Renna, Skylar, The Fey, Twinblast, Wraith and Zinx are all ranged characters. As such, they can immediately be dismissed as Jungle options just on that basis alone.
Adele lacks a useful way to ambush a lane. As well, her kit is largely meant to sustain long fights or to protect or set up an ally for a kill.
Narbash is a Support character. Though he is melee and would get the full value out of Hunt and Elite Hunt, his damage output is simply too pitiful for him to pose any sort of threat ambushing a lane.
Steel is basically the same story as Narbash, though he isn't as weak.
