Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Adele's equipment is visually distinctive: a sword with an undulating blade and a hoverboard that doubles as a sturdy shield. Such close quarters equipment sees Adele in melee combat. Which role of the following has she been recommended by Omeda Studios for?

Answer: Offlane

Adele does not possess the range for the Carry role, nor the Magic damage for the Midlane role. She would have a difficult time keeping up with ranged adversaries in these roles, as she has no real range herself.

As a Jungler, Adele has the wave clear and survivability, but she lacks an especially great tool to ambush lanes with. Her somewhat sluggish mobility likely explains why she has not been recommended for this role.

Adele's kit fits the Offlane in the most straightforward way possible, as she is quite the menace to duke it out with up close. She features a ton of close quarters True damage and a kit made beautifully for duelling others in isolated settings. It is very difficult to win a clean 1v1 with Adele, and right from day 1, she hit the ground running in this role.

Additionally, Adele is recommended for the Support role. Her kit transitions into the role well, being great at keeping allies safe and arguably even better at setting them up to land a kill.
2. Adele is a Tank, with a wickedly awesome shield. As such, her best stat is likely not surprising. What is Adele's highest stat?

Answer: Durability

None of Adele's stats fall beneath a 5, so she is very well rounded. Her Durability is a stout 9, and this is largely facilitated by her Iron Rose ability, featuring her pull out her hoverboard and use it as the shield it doubles as.

On a side note, the shield is truly a heck of an innovative creative concept by Omeda. A shield doubling as a hoverboard, in my opinion, is just a really cool concept. Adele even has separate animations using it in both roles: if you do not attack or take damage for several seconds, she will start to 'ride' the shield. Taking an action or receiving damage will see her put it on her back and move on foot for at least several seconds. It doesn't actually change her mobility, it's just a neat animation.
3. Adele's passive is simple, but provides utility to her nearby allies. If Adele hits an enemy, Crown of Thorns will make that enemy take extra damage from her allies. What is the damage type dealt through Crown of Thorns?

Answer: True

Specifically, if Adele hits an enemy player, that player will take an extra 6% damage from Adele's allies. That extra damage is dealt as True damage, which cannot be reduced or mitigated through Armors. Adele's kit is loaded with True damage, to the point where it will always be the majority of her damage output in general.

In being near an allied Adele, she can share a small piece of her damage with her allies.
4. Adele's Alternate Ability is Imperial Lash. Her Acacia sword unfurls and turns into a lengthy whip, which Adele lashes at an enemy. What status does this afflict targets with?

Answer: Root

In attaching her whip to an ally, Adele will pull herself right to the target and Root them as she travels to their position. It's basically like Riktor's Riplash, only instead of pulling the enemy towards Adele, Adele pulls herself towards the enemy. It is an excellent tool to initiate a fight with, as a Support or Offlaner.
5. Adele's Primary Ability is Royal Flourish, where Adele can afflict nearby foes with Mesmerize. This Ability can also deal serious damage. Which of Adele's stats does this Ability scale the best with?

Answer: Her maximum HP

Adele is a Tank, and is typically used to frontline in some context, be it as a Support for an allied Carry, or an Offlaner initiating a late game team fight. As such, it is fortunate that the majority of her damage can be had through purchasing items which increase her max HP.

That said, she also does get significant scaling out of her Physical Power, albeit less than her max HP. So she can also be built as more of a Fighter and less of a Tank, should the player desire it. The Fighter playstyle is appropriate for the Offlane, but Support Adele should always aim for the Tank setup and simply focus on her HP.
6. Adele's Secondary Ability is Iron Rose, where the half hoverboard/shield gets the spotlight. Adele doesn't just use this shield to protect, it also does sneakily good damage too. How many enemy players can this damage at once?

Answer: All of them (in theory)

While it is possible to damage five adversaries at once with this, rightfully speaking, nobody in this game is capable of taking on the damage output of five enemy players at once. So engaging with such a group, if at all possible, should be avoided. But, technically, it is possible for this Ability to hurt the entire enemy team if they are in close proximity to Adele as she casts it.

The way it works is this: on cast, Adele will pull out and tuck behind her shield. At that moment, any enemy player who is within a close proximity of her will have a vine attached to them. This vine will continue to deal worsening True damage over several seconds until the Ability ends. Damage can be avoided by getting out of Adele's proximity, which would snap the vine and end the effect immediately.

Additionally, this Ability shields Adele considerably, making her take less damage from enemies. This Ability is very good at helping Adele outduel adversaries in the Offlane. It is also good at letting her take some heat off an allied Carry as a Support, by stepping in front of the Carry and using Iron Rose to body block for them. It enhances Adele's size, making it good at body block duties.
7. Adele's Ultimate Ability is Queen's Garden. In it, she jumps up high and slams her sword into the ground, spawning a huge garden of Thornbushes around the spot she lands. This Ultimate has a unique interaction with enemies who are actively above Adele when she uses it. If an enemy is flying above Adele and she casts Queen's Garden, what happens?

Answer: The enemy falls

If an enemy has a height advantage of any kind over Adele as she casts Queen's Garden, QG will forcibly drag them to the ground, down to her level, and will Root them in place. The Rooting happens either way, but the duration is increased if such a flying enemy was struck.

Afterwards, the garden remains in place for several seconds. Enemies who walk through the garden will take severe True damage, and they are immensely slowed as they do so. As such, trying to walk away from Adele amidst a Queen's Garden as she is attacking will basically always lead to death. Yet, standing one's ground and trying to fight her without moving at all, trying to 'wait out' the Queen's Garden, is often equally perilous.
8. Adele has three Augments to choose from. Her first is Tyrant of Thorns. This offers a massive series of new benefits for Royal Flourish, at one very notable cost. What does Royal Flourish lose through ToT?

Answer: Its Mesmerize

On paper, this Augment may look absolutely horrible. The Mesmerize is indeed a large part about Royal Flourish.

Yet, in actuality, this Augment is doubtlessly the best choice for Offlane Adele. While losing the Mesmerize is unfortunate, Tyrant of Thorns also massively jacks up Adele's movement speed while casting Royal Flourish and annihilates its cooldown, more than slicing it in half, and it greatly strengthens her Crown of Thorns passive as well. As such, Adele can now gain a lot more personal utility out of Royal Flourish.

Losing the Mesmerize is notable, but it pales in comparison to the absurd advantages gained through this Augment. Support Adele should never consider this Augment, as the Mesmerize is of far greater importance for Support. But, Offlane Adele absolutely needs this Augment to turn her into the close quarters wrecking ball she can be.
9. Adele's second Augment of choice is Seeds of Dominion. This enhances Imperial Lash, and it makes Imperial Lash gain a function of Queen's Garden, spawning a Thornbush underneath afflicted targets. What is one of the things a Thornbush can do?

Answer: Slow enemies

A Thornbush will massively slow down enemies inside of it, and it will deal massive True damage if they try to walk through the bush. Imperial Lash already applies a Root, the Thornbush furthers how much Adele can keep a target in place, ideally for an ally to gun them down.

This Augment's only particular criticism is this: it suffers from being a "very good" Augment when Adele's two other options are "truly great".
10. Adele's final Augment of choice is Court of Roses. This impacts Iron Rose in what way?

Answer: Allies are now shielded

This is, without a doubt, the Augment of choice for Support Adele. Iron Rose's protection is significant, and in being able to extend it towards allies, Adele can keep them safe basically effortlessly: just a single button press is all it takes. What's better is, unlike enemies who can evade the damage Iron Rose deals by getting far away, Allies will retain the protection through Court of Roses for the entire duration regardless of how far away they get from Adele.

They just need to be close to her at the moment she casts the Ability.
