Answer: Carry

Eden is a menace in this role, with incredible ranged damage output properly befitting a Carry. However, while she does have a kit with dedicated melee options, her very poor bulk makes her difficult to play anywhere else. As such, it is sensible that Omeda has only recommended her for a Carry role.

As always, a skilled player can make even the dumbest character/role choice work if they're good enough. But, generally, playing a character outside of an Omeda-recommended role does mean the developers expect you to be playing at a disadvantage.

Answer: Mobility

Eden's kit as a whole gives her fairly ridiculous mobility options considering her role. With a Mobility of 8, this level of movement has prompted players to be more confident playing her in roles outside of her recommended than usual.

Eden is no slouch offensively, and her 6 for Basic Attack Power is deceptive; Eden has an entirely unique mechanic tied to her Basic attack that makes them deal less damage on a technicality, but ultimately be just as threatening if not more than the competition.

Finally, Eden clocks in with a relatively middling 4 for Ability Power but a Durability of 4 which is well, well above average for her role.

Answer: She will do more damage

Eden's Ranged and melee attacks are at a fixed speed, and cannot be raised or lowered through any means. Instead, buffs or debuffs to Attack Speed will enhance and diminish Eden's damage output, respectively. Her Abilities scale largely off of Attack Speed as well.

This makes items such as Nuclear Rounds and Spectra more appealing for her than most other Carry characters, as these items prioritize Attack Speed slightly in lieu of other, generally more preferred benefits found in other items.

Answer: Health regeneration

Eden has a surprisingly decent amount of health regeneration on her melee attacks. Combined with the lack of need for mana, and Eden has by far the most sustainability out of any Carry in the entire game by a country mile. This is really useful if Eden's opponent duo liners attempt to win the lane via attrition, as Eden's lessened resource usage and dependence gives her a more consistent lane presence.

Answer: Damaging enemy players

Each individual hit Eden lands generates Heat which builds up to a maximum of 300. At 300, Eden will be able to use her Ultimate Ability, Limit Break. Because of this, Eden became the first character in franchise history with a functional Ultimate Ability that can deal damage at Level 1.

This Passive, by itself, gives Eden unusually high damage output at the very early stages of the game. Being capable of wielding an Ultimate so early on gives Eden a hefty early game advantage over the competition.

Answer: Switch stances

Eden became the second stance shifter in franchise history, joining Wukong at her release. Eden's stance shifting is distinct, in that she has a melee and a ranged mode, with accompanying abilities to supplement each mode.

Whereas Wukong's stance shift is tied to his Ultimate Ability, Eden's is tied to her Secondary Ability. They are similar in that they cost nothing to use, though Eden's has the absolute tiniest of cooldowns.

Because of how their stance shifting operates, Wukong has the advantage of six abilities to Eden's four. Eden's advantage of being able to actually wield an Ultimate is certainly just as, if not more significant. As well, Eden has two wieldable Basic Attacks since they also switch between her stances.

Answer: Attack Speed

Due to Eden's Passive, the slight majority of her damage output in general tends to come from Attack Speed. This extends to most of her Abilities, Sidewind included.

Answer: Slow

The Slow is actually a fairly significant value, albeit for a short duration. It's a good tool to use for Eden to close a fight if her Ultimate isn't available.

Answer: Pierce

Although subsequent victims take slightly reduced damage, Tachyon Lance will pierce through them and still deal damage anyway. This Ability is important if the enemy has a tanky Support such as Steel or Riktor, as they would look to defend their Carry from Eden.

Answer: Five

The Ability starts with Eden performing a spinning, sweeping strike for the first four hits, then following up with a propelled final fifth strike. This Ability deals serious damage if the entire combo lands, and also notably has magnificent scaling off of Eden's Attack Speed.

Answer: No

While the impact from the blasts can be blocked, they deal significant splash damage. Significant enough to kill someone from a reasonable amount of health remaining. Steel can uniquely completely neutralize the threat of this Ultimate with his Force Shield, as it will successfully and reliably block the entirety of Limit Break. Anybody else, however, is going to be in for a hurting.

Answer: Intangibility

While using Limit Break, Eden becomes completely intangible. She cannot be targeted by anything nor take damage or be affected by anything anyone near her does. As such, if she gets off the Limit Break, she is guaranteed to finish the Ability every single time. This can be bad news for anyone in close distance, as it deals quite a bit of damage atop having defensive value.

Answer: Less cooldown

Axiom Strike takes two steps forward in return for one step backward. It has a greatly reduced cooldown and applies a movement speed buff when used, but it causes it to deal slightly less damage when equipping Kinetic Waltz.

Answer: Apply Shred

The Physical Shred is fairly significant and lasts just long enough for a follow up attack to take advantage. If the Eden player is fast enough, they could take advantage of the shred with Limit Break.

Answer: Reset cooldowns

Any of Eden's Abilities which were on cooldown will simply be immediately available for use upon using Limit Break. Since Eden typically has to use Abilities to charge enough Heat to use Limit Break anyway, this benefit will almost always be appreciated when it is taken advantage of.
