Side-Challenges in "Rise of the Tomb Raider" Quiz

As if there weren't enough things to do as you take Lara Croft through her Siberian adventure in "Rise of the Tomb Raider" (PC, Xbox 360/One, PS4), there are side-objectives that can result in rewards. Match challenge descriptions to names. Good luck!

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Shoot down 6 Trinity walkie talkies.

Answer: Cut Short

The only side-challenge to be found in the Acropolis, 'Cut Short' needs eagle eyes since you'll be hunting for six small walkie talkies that have been strung up on canopies in the native marketplaces that fill the Acropolis. What might make this one a bit easier is knowing that these will always hang from those tentpoles, placed specifically to act as warning systems for Trinity mercenaries. Shooting them down will ultimately aid Lara and the locals, One shot at each will do the trick.
2. Explore 5 caves in the Soviet Installation.

Answer: Into Darkness

Fortunately for Lara there are more than five caves in the area of the Soviet Installation and all of them contribute to the completion of this otherwise straightforward (and easy) side-challenge. You technically don't even need to explore the caves in full to make this work.

This said, a number of the caverns in this area lead to helpful treasures and items, some are guarded by the local wildlife, and others lead into optional tombs that bear much more important upgrades for Lara's passive abilities.

It's worth exploring caves under any circumstance.
3. Destroy fuel tanks.

Answer: Scorched Earth

This one is all about disrupting Trinity's operations while you can as it takes place during (or after) your infiltration of the Research Base en route to save Jonah from Konstantin's clutches. To get this one done, all you need to do is be disruptive by shooting the red fuel tanks you find along your route through the woods and up and over the buildings in this region of the map. Three of them will be found along the route but the last one will only be shootable from the platforms between a series of ziplines near the end of the zone. You might need to retrace your steps for this final explosion.
4. Place 5 chickens back into their pen.

Answer: Fowl Play

One of the earliest side-challenges you can get done in the Geothermal Valley, the 'Fowl Play' to-do involves finding the chickens scattered around in the native village, specifically in its western area (near the start of the region), picking them up, and placing them into the fenced-in area next to the pumpkin patches. The chickens don't fight back, but you'll be able to live a bit of your "Legend of Zelda" fantasy by picking them up and tossing them where you need.

There are more than five to find, but once five are collected, it's all you need.
5. Light 5 signal fires with a trebuchet.

Answer: Burn Baby Burn

There seem to be a lot of 'blow things up' or 'set them on fire' challenges in this outing, and the 'Burn Baby Burn objective is one of the later opportunities. You need to use the trebuchets in the Lost City of Kitezh for a secondary purpose to complete this one.

In addition to firing on the gates as part of your regular objective, there are five massive signal fire structures along the skyline that you can aim and fire on, lighting them to get this done. Four can be done with the first trebuchet; the last is a bit too far and will need one of the later trebuchets to reach.
6. Jump off 4 platforms in the Geothermal Valley.

Answer: High Diving

All four of these platforms, marked with a red board, can be found at higher-up points in the Geothermal Valley, some of which will be on constructed towers and some of which will be part of existing structures or plateaus. From these, you need to send Lara into a high dive, plunging into the waters below to get the credit.

This side-challenge is only completable once you start completing the missions given to you by local forces as one of the platforms is build with one of the defensive towers Lara creates.
7. Shoot 7 incense burners.

Answer: Hang 'Em High

The only side-challenge that Lara can find and complete during her brief visit to Syria, the 'Hang 'Em High' requirement is encountered in the tomb of the Prophet of Constantinople, hidden away in the ancient ruins found within the cliff walls overlooking a forgotten city.

Here, Lara needs to shoot seven incense burners down from their brackets, hanging from the ceiling, and she can do so before engaging with the empty tomb at the top of the room (otherwise she'll miss out and be unable to return).
8. Rally the Deathless by lighting signal flares.

Answer: Enemy of My Enemy

Lara's goal here is to use the Deathless to push back against Trinity's approaching invasion, and the way to do this is by leveraging the existing framework of defences in the Path to Kitezh. To complete this challenge, Lara has to shoot and light six different braziers, all positioned high on the parapets as she maks her way through Deathless territory.

Some of these are hidden behind different types of blockades, so they may seem hidden at first pass. There should be Greek fire at each one, but a Fire Arrow will also do the trick.

There are six in total.
9. Burn 7 Cosmonaut posters.

Answer: Difference of Opinion

There are four different side-challenges that you can pursue throughout the Soviet Installation area, and while some are as easy as walking around and exploring, the 'Difference of Opinion' challenge asks you to be destructive. All seven posters are located around the Copper Mill Yard, and you need to set them on fire to destroy them, either doing this with Molotov cocktails or fire arrows, which you'll get later on (implying you need to return to complete this one).

Other side-challenges to do in the area involve destroying laptops in the gulag or taking down Soviet flags once you get the Combat Knife.
10. Destroy 8 headless statues.

Answer: Vandal

Dotting different architectural features throughout the Lost City of Kitezh, you'll find that these ancient statues are already in a state of disrepair so surely it's not all-too problematic to destroy them altogether, right? The eight of these, spanning much of the distance between the starting plateau of the area and the other side of the first gate, just need to be shot to pieces to get the credit.

The whole city was probably going to come down after Trinity's invasion anyways.
