This is the second man to take the name of Bushmaster. The first Bushmaster made an appearance in 1977's "Marvel Team-Up" #63, where he fought Spider-Man, Iron Fist, and Misty Knight. DC also had a Bushmaster, who was a member of the Global Guardians, a team similar to the Justice League. This Bushmaster first appeared in "Captain America" #310 (1985).

The castle he lived in was Cassidy Keep. Cassidy first appeared in "The All-New, All-Different X-Men" #102 (1976).
