He learned to dodge very quickly. For those who might not know what a rolling pin is, it's what is used to roll out bread dough and such.

Dinty was one of the people that Maggie was trying to keep Jiggs away from.

When I was researching this comic strip to give proper credit to the creator, I ran into an interesting bit of knowledge. George McManus favored a restuarant owned by a Mr. James Moore. Mr. Moore got the idea to change his restaurant's name to "Dinty Moore's" and made a fortune off of the "Bringing Up Father" character's name. Later the name was applied ot a line of canned food. Any of you ever hear of "Dinty Moore's Beef Stew", I sure have eaten a lot of it.
