1. Which of the following dinosaurs was a carnivore (meat-eater)?

Answer: Giganotosaurus

The word dinosaur means terrible lizard. The other answer options were all herbivorous (plant-eating) dinosaurs. For a long time Tyrannosaurus Rex was considered the largest dinosaur. However, in 1995 the bones of Giganotosaurus were found in Argentina, and they proved the existence of a larger dinosaur than Tyrannosaurus.
2. Which dinosaur had horns and a bony frill on top of its head?

Answer: Triceratops

The triceratops was a plant eating dinosaur that walked on four legs.
Its name means three horned face.
3. Which dinosaur had bony triangular plates all down its back?

Answer: Stegosaurus

The stegosaurus was another herbivorous dinosaur. Herbivorous means plant eating.
4. Brachiosaurus was one of the largest dinosaurs. Was it a meat eater?

Answer: No

The Brachiosaurus was a plant eater and like a giraffe used its long neck to reach for food. The Brachiosuarus grew to about 80 feet long and could be up to fifty feet tall.

The Dimetrodon was a carnivorous pelycosaur that lived in North America 280 million years ago. Carnivorous means meat eating. The bony frill along its spine (back) looked like a large fin.
