Answer: Noah

The Bible says by faith, Noah built the ark (Hebrews 11:7 KJV). God would have destroyed everything, but Noah pleased God. God gave Noah a plan to save his family by building a large boat and taking two of every living animal on board. Noah obeyed and preached about God's plan for one hundred years before there was any rain.

However when the ark was finished, Noah, his family, and the animals all climbed on board and were safe because Noah obeyed. It rained for forty days and nights! The water was so high it covered all the mountains and took many days to go away. That is a ton of water!

Answer: Rebecca

Abraham had sent his servant to find Isaac a wife. The servant wanted to find the right one. He asked God to help him by sending a lady to give water to him and his camels. When Rebecca came and did so, the servant was extremely happy because she was beautiful as well! He gave her gold and many fine things. She returned with him and married Isaac, becoming Abraham's daughter in law!

Answer: blood

Blood doesn't smell very nice and isn't nice to drink. The people and animals were sick and the plants were dying before Pharaoh changed his mind and asked Moses to take the plague away. However as soon as the blood was turned back to water, Pharaoh changed his mind again. It took a few more plagues and the death of his son before he let Moses and the Israelites go free.

Answer: the waters parted

God told Moses to stretch forth his rod and Moses obeyed. When he did, God caused the waters to separate and the Israelites were able to walk across on dry ground! Pharaoh and his army tried to go after them, but when the last Israelite was safe on the other side, God let the waters collapse. It drowned all of Pharaoh's men and chariots in the Red Sea.

Answer: the Jordan River

God told Joshua to tell the priests to stand in the middle of the river with the ark of the covenant, which represented His presence. When they did the waters parted and the Israelites crossed over just as they did with Moses and the Red Sea. Joshua had them build a memorial of stones to always remind them of what God had done.

Answer: Elijah

Rain was very important to God's people to grow their food, water their animals, and water themselves. However sometimes God had to take it away to prove a point. Elijah told King Ahab it would not rain until Elijah prayed because Ahab and Jezebel were serving false gods.

Many people, animals, and crops died. Three years later, after God had proven He was the Lord God of Israel in a contest, Elijah prayed and the rains came.

Answer: Jonah

Jonah was supposed to preach in Nineveh, but he didn't want to go. Instead of obeying God, he took a ship to go somewhere else. God knew where Jonah was though, and caused a big storm. It scared the sailors and Jonah, who knew God was angry, had them cast him into the sea.

The sailors were very happy when the storm stopped, but Jonah was swallowed by a great fish. He spent three days and nights praying for God to save him. When God did, Jonah went to Nineveh as he was told.

Answer: John the Baptist

John the Baptist was preaching to people to turn away from their wickedness because the Messiah was coming. He baptized people for repentance in the Jordan river and encouraged them change their life. John was shocked when the Messiah, Jesus, came to him and asked to be baptized. John did as Jesus asked and when he did a voice came from heaven telling John, "This is my son, in whom I am well pleased". John praised God for showing him who the Messiah was.

When the wedding party ran out of wine, Jesus' mother came to him for help. In those days it was a big dishonor if the wedding guests were not happy with the food or drink. Jesus told the servants to fill several large pots full of water and then serve it. The servants were shocked when people told them this was the best wine they had ever tasted! Jesus had changed water into wine.

John saw in heaven there was a sea like crystal, or glass, in front of the throne of God. It must have been a body of beautiful, clear water. He also wrote that a rainbow encircled the throne and that there were streets of gold. God wanted heaven to be beautiful for all his saints and people who will someday be with Him forever!
