He was born February 12, 1809. His father was Thomas Lincoln, his mother Nancy Hanks. They moved to Indiana when he was 7 years old. His mother died in 1818. His father moved him to a farm in Illinois in 1830.

Answer: Tennessee

Located on the Tennessee River just south of Kentucky. CSA Gen. Tilghman was commander of the troops at the fort. He was forced to surrender the fort on February 6, 1862.

England and France had hoped the U.S. Government would be compelled to divide its territory. Both countries had openly considered recognizing the CSA as an independent country. Russia was the only major European power to side with the Union.

They had been sent to England to gain support for the CSA. When they were taken off the "Trent", England sent an ultimatum to the United States to surrender the two and apologize for the kidnapping, or go to war.

Answer: Blackburn's Ford

On July 18 Union Gen. Tyler's brigade, arrived near Blackburn's Ford on Bull Run Creek. They engaged CSA troops under the command of Col. James Longstreet. Tyler had been ordered not to bring on a general engagement and withdrew his troops. Three days later the "1st Battle of Manassas" occured.

On May 7 they engaged each other in a cavalry battle. The CSA was forced to retire, but had accomplised their mission by slowing down Union columns which allowed Gen. Lee to reach Spotsylvania Court House which gave him the important edge for the battle there.

Answer: Hood

On July 17, 1864 Gen. Johnston was replaced by Gen. Hood. The battle took place July 20, 1864. Hood adopted Johnston's plan but his attack was delayed and some thought the change of command had delayed the battle which gave Union Gen. Thomas time to move his troops across the creek and into position.
