The battle was nearly over and the American Army was the victor but the flag was still flying over the garrison at York when the magazine blew up killing General Pike. The town was sacked in retribution.
2. Who was the charismatic Native American leader killed in the Battle of the Thames?

Answer: Tecumseh

Tecumseh tried to bring all the native tribes together to drive the white man from their lands. He was killed in the retreat from Lake Erie by Kentucky troops under William Henry Harrison.
