1. Ammit - part lion, hippopotamus, and crocodile

Answer: Egypt

In ancient Egypt, Ammit was a funerary deity. She was called the 'devourer of the dead' and the 'eater of hearts'. For this reason, she was personified by amalgamating the largest man-eating beasts known to the ancient Egyptians - part lion, part hippopotamus, and part crocodile.

When Anubis weighed the heart of a dead person against the Feather of Truth, the ones found impure were devoured by Ammit.
