1. Metallica is considered one of the breakthrough thrash metal bands of the 80's. Which city is the haven of "thrash metal" bands?

Answer: San Francisco

Although this is considered the haven for a lot of thrash metal bands, Metallica is not from here. They were "forced" to move there if they wanted to recruit Cliff Burton as bassist.

2. What is the name of the band that Cliff Burton was in when Metallica discovered him?

Answer: Trauma

Being the amazing bassist that he is, Burton was asked to join Metallica while playing for Trauma. They made a wise choice and would never regret it. Easy Street was one of Cliff's first bands, and one of many that he was in.

3. What member of Megadeth was rumored to be a member after Jason Newsted left?

Answer: David Ellefson

Dave Mustaine was the original guitarist for Metallica, unless you consider Jason on the original version of "Hit the Lights," and then formed Megadeth when he was kicked out. David was rumored to be very high in the running for the new bass position after Newsted left. Later, as we all find out, he was never even considered because he said he never went to the practice! Or so he says. Ironic though, that the very band that was rumored to be made in spite of Metallica had a member that was formerly in it and one that went to "audition" after Megadeth broke up...

Their first was Ron McGoveny, and as legend has it, he couldn't handle the pressure. Second was Cliff Burton. Third, here is where the trick comes in, James Hetfield. James played bass for "Motorbreath" on "Kill 'Em All". Fourth was Jason Newsted. Fifth was Bob Rock. And sixth was Rob Trujillo, who is the current bassist.
