1. "You Get Me"

Answer: Michelle Branch

American singer-songwriter Michelle Branch was born in Sedona, Arizona on 2nd July 1983. "You Get Me" is taken from her major-label debut album "The Spirit Room" that was released in 2001.

"You Get Me" plays as we see shots of both Van and Gwen separately looking very pensive following their fallout after Gwen questioned Van about why he has been "putting off his life" having discovered that he has been 18 units shy of graduating for the past six semesters.
2. "Saying Goodbye"

The third of Sugarcult's songs in this movie, "Saying Goodbye" appears on the band's 2001 "Start Static" album that was produced by Matt Wallace and Ben Davis, and released on the Ultimatum label.

"Saying Goodbye" plays as we see a now much more confident Taj getting things set up for the multi-coalition party, which he tells Van he believes should triple their income; however Van's mind is elsewhere as he is thinking about what Gwen said to him about him putting off his life.
3. "Start Over"

Former bassist and one of the founding members of American rock band Eels, musician and songwriter Tommy Walter started his own project under the moniker Abandoned Pools in 2001. "Start Over" is taken from the debut album released by Abandoned Pools, "Humanistic", which was released in 2001.

"Start Over" plays as Van pays a visit to Gwen in the women's locker room. He says that he thought a lot about what she said, then proceeds to show her doodles he made whilst in classes he attended today.
4. "All Out of Love"

Formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1975, soft rock band Air Supply have consisted of the core duo Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, accompanied by various musicians and singers, for over four decades. Perhaps their most well-known song, "All Out of Love" is the second single released from Air Supply's fifth studio album "Lost in Love", which reached multi-platinum status.

"All Out of Love" plays as Van is drowning his sorrows in his dorm room as he believes that Gwen and Richard have got engaged to be married. Gwen comes to Van's dorm room and, seeing Van with another girl, turns round and rushes out again.
5. "Stuck in America"

Answer: Sugarcult

The fourth of Sugarcult's songs in this movie, "Stuck in America" is the lead single from the band's "Start Static" album. According to vocalist Tim Pagnotta, the lyrics to "Stuck in America" are about being young and having desires to leave one's hometown.

"Stuck in America" plays during the club scene in which Richard and his associates sneak schoolkids into the club and ply them with alcohol to set Van up, resulting in his expulsion from college.
6. "Roll On"

Answer: The Living End

Australian punk rock band The Living End were formed in Melbourne in 1994. "Roll On" was the second (and eponymous) single released from their second studio album which was released internationally in 2001.

"Roll On" plays as we see a number of students setting up an office - fax machines, telephones, filing trays, and the like - in Van's dorm room, in preparation for putting together Van's appeal against expulsion. Van's door bursts open and in walk three members of the Law Club. Their leader says "It's ridiculous, it's preposterous, it's ludicrous, by God it's impetuous". Hutch says "So does that mean you're gonna help us?", to which the Law Club leader replies, with a smile "On it's on!".
7. "Forgot Your Name"

Answer: Bird 3

Bird 3 is a pop/rock outfit assembled in 1999 in Los Angeles, California that consists of Bird (vocals and guitar), Greg Coates (bass), and Michael Miley (drums). "Forgot Your Name" is taken from the bands eponymous debut album that was released in 2001.

"Forgot Your Name" plays as Taj wakes up a clearly exhausted Van and tells him "Your final is in exactly seven minutes". We then see Van running through the college grounds and just making it to his last final - Professor McDoogle's Advanced Economics - in time.
8. "Blind Spot"

Answer: Transmatic

American rock band Transmatic formed in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1999, and disbanded in 2003. The band only released one full length album during their short life, and it was from this eponymous 2001 album that the song "Blind Spot" is taken.

"Blind Spot" plays at the start of the graduation party scene at the end of the movie. We see Taj literally bump into a girl, who introduces herself as Orissa Punjab Nizamabad who has just transferred to Coolidge College from Banglapur, the same place that Taj is from, and Taj is clearly smitten. We then see Van's father turn up and ask where he can find his son. He then goes over to Van and tells him how proud he is of him.
9. "Hello"

Answer: Sugarbomb

Power pop band Sugarbomb formed in Fort Worth, Texas in 1998. "Hello" is taken from their first (and only) major-label album release, the 2001 "Bully", and the single reached number 34 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart.

"Hello" plays at the graduation party, just after Van's father has told Van how proud he is of him. Gwen appears, puts a lei around Van's neck, and the two engage in a passionate embrace.
10. "Stand Up and Win"

Answer: Spymob

Consisting of John Ostby (vocals and keyboards), Brent Paschke (guitar), Christian Twigg (bass), and Eric Fawcett (drums), American alternative rock band Spymob were formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1993. "Stand Up and Win" is taken from their 2003 major label debut album "Sitting Around Keeping Score".

"Stand Up and Win" plays as the end credits roll and we are shown outtakes from the making of "Van Wilder: Party Liaison".
