The Five Emprees had a number 74 hit on the US pop chart in 1965 with "Little Miss Sad". It never charted in the UK.

(The Beach Boys had a hard time getting in the UK charts in the early days, it may have had something to do with the different weather in California and the UK and we had an epidemic of Beatlemania at the time).

Gary Lewis and The Playboys had a number one hit for two weeks on the US pop chart in 1965 with "This Diamond Ring". It never charted in the UK and the only UK hit they had was in 1975 with "My Heart's Symphony" which reached number 36. It reached number 13 on the US pop chart in 1966. The Byrds had two number one hits on the US pop chart in 1965. The first was "Mr.Tambourine Man" (written by Bob Dylan and recorded on his "Bringing It All Back Home" album) which was number one for one week, It reached number one on the UK chart. The second was "Turn! Turn! Turn!" which was number one for three weeks, it reached number 26 on the UK chart. The words are from the book of Ecclesiastes and it was put to music by Pete Seeger. The Temptations had a number one hit on the US pop chart in 1965 with "My Girl". It reached number 43 on the UK chart. On re-release in 1992 it reached number two on the UK chart.

Wayne Fontana and The Mindbenders had a number one on the US pop chart in 1965 with "Game Of Love". It reached number two on the UK chart.

It reached number one for two weeks on the UK chart.

The Newbeats had a number 12 hit on the US pop chart in 1965 with "Run, Baby Run (Back Into My Arms)". It didn't run fast enough in the UK and took until 1971 to reach number ten. The Lovin' Spoonful had a number nine hit on the US pop chart in 1965 with "Do You Believe In Magic". It did not chart in the UK.

The Moody Blues had a number ten hit on the US pop chart in 1965 with "Go Now". It reached number one on the UK chart in 1964.
