Answer: 1509-1547

Most famous as the king who had six wives, he was the second Tudor monarch, the first English King of Ireland, and the monarch responsible for the separation of the Church of England from Rome.
2. King Christian X of Denmark

Answer: 1912-1947

Although the longest-reigning Danish monarch, Christian X was king during a tumultuous time encompassing both World Wars. He was the penultimate monarch in a line of alternating Danish monatchs named Christian and Frederick dating back to 1513 that ended when Margrethe II became queen in 1972.
3. King Louis XIV of France

Answer: 1643-1715

Louis the Great, aka The Sun King, became King of France before his fifth birthday and reigned for 72 years 110 days, establishing a record length of reign for any ruler of a European nation.
4. Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria

Answer: 1848-1916

Franz Joseph I became Emperor of Austria when he was 18 and reigned for 67 years 355 days until his death aged 86. He was also King of Hungary & Croatia, King of Bohemia and, until 1866, King of Lombardy-Venetia.
5. Emperor Kangxi of China

Answer: 1661-1722

Kangxi was the fourth Emperor of the Qing synasty, and the second to rule over the whole of China. With a reign that lasted 61 years, he is the longest-reigning of all Chinese emperors.

Montezuma I (or Moctezuma I) was the second and most famous Aztec emperor, and the fifth king of Tenochtitlan. It was during his reign that major expansion and consolidation of the empire occurred.

Although abroad known primarily by his personal name, Hirohito, in his homeland the 124th emperor is called by his posthumous name, Emperor Shôwa, the name of the era corresponding to his reign.
9. Sultan Suleiman I of the Ottoman Empire

Answer: 1520-1566

Known as Suleiman the Magnificent or Suleiman the Lawgiver, he was the tenth and longest-reigning Great Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.
10. Tsar Peter I of Russia

Answer: 1682-1725

Peter the Great became Tsar of All Russia in 1682 shortly before his tenth birthday, ruling jointly with his elder brother Ivan V until 1696. From 1721 until his death aged 52 in 1725 he took the title Emperor of All Russia.
