1. Which of the following pitchers lost 27 consecutive games?

Answer: Anthony Young

Young of the New York Mets folded 27 consecutive times in 1992 and 1993. He broke the old record shared by Roger Craig and others for losing 18. Young's record in 1992 with the Mets was 2-14 followed up by a 1-16 record the following year. On July 28th he finally beat Florida in relief to break the streak.
2. What is the record for most losses in a season by a pitcher (during the 20th century)?

Answer: 29

Vic Willis lost 29 games in 1905 with the Boston Braves. He also lost 25 the previous year in 1904. His record in 1905 was 12-29. Despite these horrendous seasons, Willis is a member of the Hall of Fame.
3. Which of the following pitchers have lost over 300 career games?

Answer: Cy Young

Along with Young's record-setting career victory numbers comes 316 losses also. He retired in 1911. Both Roberts and Spahn lost 245 games behind Sutton's 256.
4. Which of the following pitchers led four consecutive seasons for most losses?

Answer: Phil Niekro

Niekro led the league with most losses 1977-78-79-80. He lost 20, then 18, 20, and 18 again respectively. He retired with a record of 318-274 in 1987. He is also a member of the Hall of Fame.
5. Which pitcher was the last 25-game season loser (during the 20th century)?

Answer: Ben Cantwell

Cantwell went 4-25 in 1935 with the Boston Braves. Ironically, two years earlier in 1933 he led the league in winning percentage by going 20-10.

Answer: Minnie Minoso

Although Minoso played in 1949 briefly, his official rookie year was 1951. Gil McDougald of the Yankees won that Rookie of the Year award.

Collins stole 6 bases in a game twice in his career. Both in 1912 he stole 6 on September 11 and again on September 22. The Philadelphia Athletics had a great player.

Answer: Don Sutton

Sutton notched his 300th career victory on June 18, 1986 with the Angels. He was a 20-game winner only once in his career. He retired after 23 seasons with a record of 324-256.

Answer: Vince Coleman

Coleman did this in 1988-1989 with the Cardinals. His steak ended on July 28th when he was finally nailed by Nelson Santovenia of the Expos.
10. Which of the following players set a record for grounding into 36 double plays in a season?

Answer: Jim Rice

Rice grounded into 36 in 1984 as a member of the Red Sox. He still had 184 hits with 28 being home runs along with 122 RBIs that season.
