The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is located in upstate New York. It is in Cooperstown because that is where the modern game of baseball is alleged to have been invented.
2. What is the name of the baseball field in Cooperstown?

Answer: Doubleday Field

Doubleday Field is located two blocks from the Hall of Fame. It is named after Abner Doubleday who is credited as the founder of American baseball.
3. Which of these players was NOT one of the first five inductees into the Hall of Fame when it opened in 1936?

Answer: George Sisler

The inaugural Hall of Fame class consisted of Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Christy Matheweson and Walter Johnson. Sisler would be inducted three years later in 1939.

The five year rule was waived for the first time with the tragic death of Roberto Clemente in 1972 while he was still an active player. When the Hall first opened in 1936, no such rule existed.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame is a non-profit entity. The bill was introduced in Congress by Congressman Richard Hanna in 2011 and was signed by President Obama in 2012.

Answer: Hank Aaron

Hank Aaron was elected to the Hall in 1982 - his first year of eligibility. "Chasing The Dream" honors his breaking of Babe Ruth's long standing career home run total of 714, which was the major league record at the time.
