Petty won an amazing 27 in 1967 to win his second championship. He did it again when he won 21 in 1971 for his third championship. Both times were in a Plymouth. In Nascar's 60 seasons, King Richard would be the only driver to ever reach 20 wins in a season.

Answer: Tony Stewart

Stewart won three times in 1999 to earn the Rookie of the Year award. He had 12 top-five and 21 top-ten finishes in the season. Allison was the Rookie of the Year in 1987 with his two wins, and Harvick was another Rookie of the Year winner and won two races in 2001.
