Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Tracy McGrady played his final season in the NBA in 2013 with this team

Answer: San Antonio Spurs

After playing for Toronto, Orlando, and Houston for his first 14 seasons, McGrady played the final three seasons of his career with five different teams, four of them in the NBA, the last one being the San Antonio Spurs. While his time with the Spurs was short, he still was able to play for San Antonio during their Finals playoff appearance, where they fell in seven games to the Miami Heat.
2. Mike Bibby played two games with this team before forfeiting his contract in 2012

Answer: Washington Wizards

Drafted in 1998 by the Vancouver Grizzlies, Bibby played for 14 seasons with six different teams. By far his shortest stint was with Washington, playing in only two games before allowing the Wizards to buyout the rest of his contract. Later in 2011, Bibby signed with Miami, helping them to the NBA Finals.
3. Hakeem Olajuwon retired in 2002 after playing a rather forgettable season with this team

Answer: Toronto Raptors

Hakeem Olajuwon played in the NBA for 18 seasons, the first 17 of those with Houston. The final season of his career saw career lows in just about every major category. He hung up his sneakers after that season, retiring with nearly 27,000 career points.
4. After playing for the New York Knicks for 15 years, Patrick Ewing played his penultimate season with this team in 2000-01

Answer: Seattle SuperSonics

After 15 seasons with the Knicks, Ewing's final two seasons were both one year stints; 2000-2001 season with Seattle, and his final season from 2001-2002 with the Orlando Magic. After retiring as a player, Ewing tried his hand as an assistant coach before landing a head coaching job at Georgetown University.
5. Allen Iverson's most forgettable playing days were in 2009 with this team, lasting only a couple months

Answer: Memphis Grizzlies

Most of Iverson's career success came in Philadelphia, where he was the face of the organization. After a couple short stints in Denver and Detroit, Iverson landed in Memphis. After signing in September, he left Memphis in November of the same year, after indicating he was unhappy at being stuck on the bench.
6. Orlando Magic star Penny Hardaway played only 16 games with this team in 2007 before being released

Answer: Miami Heat

Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway played most of his career where he started his playing career, in Orlando. His final stop in the NBA before retirement was in Miami, which was his shortest tenure with any team he played for. That tenure only lasted 16 days. After his playing days, Hardaway got into coaching, becoming head coach for his Alma Mater, the University of Memphis.
7. Zaza Pachulia played only one season with this team who drafted him in 2003

Answer: Orlando Magic

Zaza Pachulia first played in the NBA for the Orlando Magic, although only for one season. He played for five other teams in the NBA, and two teams in five years in Turkey. Zaza Pachulia was a three time Turkish basketball champion, and a two time NBA champion with Golden State.
8. Vince Carter played in four decades in the NBA, with this team waiving him after the 2011 lockout

Answer: Phoenix Suns

Vince Carter was drafted in 1998 by the Golden State Warriors, and was traded to Toronto. He became the first player to play in four separate decades in the NBA when he played in 2020 with the Atlanta Hawks. Carter lasted just over a season with Phoenix, before Atlanta released him after the 2011 lockout ended, saving Atlanta $14 million.

At the time of his retirement, Carter held nine team records for the Toronto Raptors.
9. Shaquille O'Neal won four championships before landing with this team in 2009

Answer: Cleveland Cavaliers

O'Neal was drafted out of LSU by the Orlando Magic first overall in 1992. Along with three straight championships with the Lakers from 2000-2002, O'Neal was also awarded Finals MVP in those three championships. After winning his fourth ring with Miami in 2006, O'Neal landed with Cleveland for the 2009-2010 season. Given that he averaged career lows with the Cavs, it's understandable that it was not a memorable season for Shaq.
10. Tim Hardaway Sr. played for this team in 2002, where his temper got the better of him more than once

Answer: Denver Nuggets

Hardaway played for a mere two weeks with the Denver Nuggets in 2002. It was a memorable fortnight though, as Hardaway was fined $10,000 and suspended two games for throwing a TV monitor onto the court.
