Answer: New York Cosmos

All these teams won the NASL title at one point, but the Cosmos were kings! The Cosmos won five NASL crowns: 1972, 1977-78, 1980 and 1982.

Answer: Shea Stadium

The Dallas Tornado was a unique franchise in the volatile NASL! They were formed in 1967 and folded after the 1981 season, capturing a title along the way.

My goodness! The Minnesota Strikers were in the NASL from 1970 until the league's last season in 1984, but what a long and turmoil filled history. Before that, they were the Washington Darts, the Miami Gatos and Toros, and the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. The Strikers went on to compete in the Major Indoor Soccer League with some other NASL castoffs.
7. Where did Team America call home in it's only season in 1983?

Answer: Washington

Team America, consisting of members of the rather lackluster U.S. national team, competed in the NASL in 1983, went 10-20, embarrassing themselves at home as well as abroad.

Answer: Montreal

They became Le Manic. The 'mania' only lasted until 1983.

In 1978, the NASL was so big that it was divided into an American and National Conference, and six divisions like the NFL! Unfortunately, expanding too fast came back to bedevil the league.

This franchise started out as the Baltimore {Comets;} moved to San Diego and became the Jaws, perhaps the most ridiculous franchise nickname in American sports {history;} moved to Las Vegas as the {Quicksilver;} then thankfully became the Sockers in San Diego!

Just like the original Boston Tea Party, the fans in Jacksonville quickly dumped their 'Tea Men' overboard, and they only lasted the 1981 and 1982 seasons!
